Very funny cow game. The audio of the flying cow is legendary!
Thanks! You wanna know a secret? It's really a sound effect taken from the milk steamer of an espresso machine. A weird Eureka moment I had during development. Thanks for playing.
Merry Christmas to all GameOff 2022 competitors! Here's mine gameplay of Udder Chaos
As I mentioned before in the comment section this game is very fun to play, unfortunately I am not very skillfull, enjoy the video :D
Hahaha, this video is great! Do you mind if I use this for the game's trailer? I think you captured the spirit of the game just about perfectly. Love the edits. Merry Christmas to you as well!
Yeah sure, great idea! No problem at all, use it as you wish :D
Dankeschön! :)
This is such simple and efficient, i loved it !
I had a lot of fun playing it, great job !
Yeah, I wanted to limit myself to keep it fairly simple here, trying to meet scope requirements is always such a theme. Thanks for playing!
It was really fun to play and makes u laugh!
Thank you!
I had no idea this is how milk is made!
I had a surprisingly good time getting killed repeatedly by rotating sawblades, and I even managed to get a donut for my troubles.
This is exactly how milk is made. This project started out as a documentary.
Moo
Agreed
I'm honestly surprised by how fun it was! Good job!
Thank you! I was surprised at first too!
I loved your game, very entertaining and engaging! Well done!
Thank you so much!
Hahaha, that was so fun!! The premise is totally nuts but once you start playing this mix between "moon landing" and "disc room" it gets even better! The physics feel nice and the rooms require a bit of patience but the difficulty is ok. I got my doughnut! Thanks for these laughs!
Oh, you're the creator of Nuclear Briefcase, the winner of OpenJam 2018! I know I was following you already! 😜
Guilty as charged! :) Nice to run into you again. Glad I got you laughing. Thanks for playing!
Pretty fun!
Did not really enjoy the controls. Well I mean, it controlled very well but the scheme was not great (to me at least). I'd rather play with my dominant hand when not doing something with the mouse. And I think using up to propel would have made more sense when flying like this. But maybe just having the arrow keys as alternative would have already fixed it for me.
The level design was very one dimensional. Having a bit more variety than just being saw blade galore would have been nice.
The cow hitbox didn't really feel too fair as it was very hard estimate how close to the blades I could get. Shrinking the hitbox would allow for more close calls and make it feel more like every death was deserved. Judging the hitboxes was mainly hard due the 2.5D nature of the game.
Nice to see some particle effects but they didn't really fit the style that well. Going for more stylized ones instead of just colored squares would have fit better. You should have also shut off the milk emitter after death, that just looked weird. Maybe just throw some blood and gore there instead. Would have made the failures "hurt" more instead of just showing a colorful fireworks. Could also throw in some screen shake there to even more drive the impact home.
And your saw blades were spinning the wrong direction. They're really meant to cut stuff with the edges, not repel them away with the blunt side. 😅 The blade physics colliders should probably really spin too so they'd react more naturally with the milk particles for example. Now the milk just was sitting on top.
Good job! 👍
Thanks for taking the time to compose this detailed review!
I'm a fan of lander games, but I can't say I've ever played one quite like that. You had me laughing. Nice work! There's a donut in our game, too -- but it's a little more hidden.
Some of the hitboxes felt a little weird when there were saws at different depths (collisions seemed like they are based on camera overlap, maybe?). That's only a minor thing, though. Very entertaining game, albeit a little shorter than I would have liked (I'd have happily played another 10 levels).
One my developer goals this time was to get some people laughing, so I'm glad I succeeded with you! I also agree with you, the hitboxes can feel a little iffy sometimes, especially considering the perspective effect. Thanks for playing!
Holy cow!
I saw what you did there
Reminded ny of flappy bird. Same "I died again, but need to try one more time" vibe.
Good entry and good luck!
Thanks, Mr. Bell. Glad you kept trying :)
Suprised me at first. Nice job!
Fair levels. No bugs or other issues encountered.
MOOO!!
Not bad!
Well I've heard of "when pigs fly" as a cliché, but never cows! Although it wasn't anything new gameplay-wise, the controls were very responsive and I found I was able to carry out some satisfying manoeuvres.
I thought about changing directions and going with When Pigs Fly for a bit, but I dunno, I guess I wanted to stay with my ridiculous concept in the end.
Silly fun. I enjoyed it. Controls feel tight!
Thanks! Yeah, I find I always start with nailing down the controls. If that doesn't feel good, what's the point?
Brilliant! Addicting trying to figure out the best way through the level
Thanks! Yeah, I wish I could see how people solved each level. I certainly have my own tricks for getting through by now. :)
Seemed punishingly difficult at first, but once I got the hang of it wasn't so bad. (Unity crashed out for me after the 4th or 5th level, not sure which.)
Oh no! I haven't seen any crashes yet. Care to share your browser details?
Honestly, I can't remember which browser that was. I've been switching back and forth between safari and Firefox on Mac, then over to chrome and Firefox on windows, depending which works for each game. I suspect it was a safari on Mac problem, because that's the config that's giving me the most grief.
That's insane... I love it!
Your appreciation for my insanity is much appreciated. Thanks. :)
