Gameplay: The gameplay was confusing because there wasnt a tutorial. Sometimes player 1s turn is skipped and that made it more confusing.

Graphics: The graphics were pretty good.

Audio: The music was good but didnt loop.

Innovation: Its pretty good because pool games arent made that much and this was different than most pool games.

Theme: Pool but with planets and moons.

Overall: Good game for 2 days you can definitely improve though.

Impressive graphics!

I was a bit confused about the controls at first. Also I find it's really hard to distinguish the moon from the planets.

Otherwise, nice game. The music fitted the theme and the gameplay itself was fun! Good job!

Interesting mechanics and innovative game! A small tutorial would be much appreciated, it took me a bit to understand the way to play but after that it was very enjoyable.

Well done!

Nice concept, I wouldn't have thought about that!

It took me some time to find out what I should do. A tutorial would have been nice, explaining where to put the ball to make a stronger hit.

The graphics are amazing, and the theme is really clever, I'll give you that. Although I was very confused, there was nothing teaching you how to play the game and for some reason, I couldn't play as player 1, only as player 2, and in the end player 1 won anyways, lmao! I read the game page and understood why player 1 won, then. It also says that this was made in 2 days, which explains the roughness. But yeah, you have a good foundation here, add more mechanics and levels and you'll have an amazing game. And a tutorial too, of course. Great job though!

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah the game flow and logic really took a hit, but I'm happy with how it looks visually and the outcome of the basic mechanic!

Will definitely continue working on the game once I get the time. :)

Love the black holes as the pockets! Definitely clever to have pool in space. Good theme interpretation of "Moon Shot" haha

Pros:

  • Good theme fits well
  • Good looking graphics

Improvements:

  • Could use a few more levels and some better audio ambience

Good stuff, I'd very much appreciate checking out my game as well! =) Good stuff! https://avatar-nick.itch.io/moon-blob

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, I couldn't think of an idea until 2 days before the deadline. I'm definitely invested in the idea and will add more depth into the gameplay. And I agree, the game looks great :)

I'll check out your game too!

Interesting idea! Took a good amount of tries to get the angles lined up. I liked the sprite stretch effect when the balls got sucked into the black holes

Developer

Thanks! That stretch effect took me quite a while to do, so I'm glad you noticed it. :)

I knocked the moon into the holes many many times. I haven't played many pool games, so I don't have anything to compare this to/against, but I think you did a great job! I think you adding a tutorial will be a great addition.

Developer

Hahaha thank you! Yup, I think a tutorial would have helped.

Once I figured things out it was a good game!  The graphics are good, the the music too.  Was the music not set to loop though?  It didn't for me on linux via wine.   But it did start up again on a new game after I finished.  It would also have been nice to be able to exit the game via a menu popup on escape.

Developer

Thanks for playing and giving me some feedback!

Well when I was adding the music last minute, I couldn't hear anything haha. Figured I would just leave it. Didn't know it would be heard in the actual build!

Really clever and beautiful. Found it relaxing. I did struggle with placing my shot. I couldn't tell if it was user error or not, but very nice job.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, I agree that it should have been more intuitive. Will definitely try to improve that in the future.

I love it, I really suck at it but I love it.

Beautiful looking game, especially for doing it in 2 days.  I like the concept, had a little trouble understanding when I was placing a star, when executing, etc...  and the music seemed to cut out after a few minutes.  So basically, I experienced a few quirks in the gameplay, but a neat game!  The flashy touched are done exceptionally well and offer exactly what I would like to see to make a "pool" game interesting and fitting to the theme.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks so much for the feedback! Yup I was mainly focused on the visuals and basic mechanics, so I'm glad it looks good. I'll definitely add a tutorial, or make it more intuitive some other way.
