Ended up losing 10 times in a row :p (mostly ties or two losses at end)
Definitely one of the most "finished games i've seen on the jam.

It was well made, nice art, animation, atmosphere and voice acting.
Not my type of theme, but I really admire what you did it here.

The only concern is while you give a great atmosphere for panicking and such, due to the nature or rock scissor and paper, the game isn't really a game, but just a gambling. Again, it works well with what you did, but can't really be called a game.

If you develop it with different mechanics, giving players meaningful choices, you might get a good chance in making it a nice niche game.

Well done!

Developer

Glad you liked the vibe, that was for sure the main focus.

The way it is implemented in this game actually does make it more than just picking at random and luck.
Being able to choose between calling and forfeiting can make all the difference between winning and losing, and I've seen from playthroughs that players who call every time have a much higher chance of losing vs players who only call when necessary.
Also, the hand you play does actually matter, because the opponent does try to 'adapt' to your play style in some ways. In the end, it is up to chance whether you win or lose, but that's not to say you can't learn a strategy to sway the chance in your favor.

It definitely could've used a better gameplay gimmick, but it's not complete luck either :)

It could be a more tactical, but maybe I didn't understand well the rules of the call and forfeit.
Still prefer to keep my body part as a whole :-D

Intense atmosphere, love the voice acting, legitimately intimidating! So goddamn brutal!! Very clean artwork and buttery-smooth UI/visuals.

The sound and art really standout in this classic game of rock, paper and scissors. Nice ideas, and could be a lot of fun for someone who likes games of chance.

Gosh I was immersed. good use of depth and the little things like looking over the screen. very nice!

wow really brutal but well made. I dont know if its pure rng or if you're doing it on purpose but it was really intense in the end where i almost died but "won" last second. RNG or not that was really well crafted :) I can judge from the comments there is more to see too.

Developer

It is RNG, but it gets weighted based on various factors in the game, to make it more intense. Combined with strategic use of calls, there are ways to sway the odds in your favor ;)

I assumed as much! Master use of it, very impressive you made all of this in a week.

Nice interpretation of the theme. Solid voice acting, camera work, and animations.

You really nailed the Jam theme. Great staging and atmosphere, the voice acting is on point. The horror theming and gore is not my cup of tea. Great entry.

A true masterpiece on polishing, this game exemplifies unparalleled attention to detail, from breathtaking visuals to a captivating narrative. Every element is meticulously crafted, there is even a erased message on the table " He is not real" to add some humor.

The pixel art design, sound design, and announcers voice were all extremely well done. The pressure of wanting to win was tense and palpable.  The game isn't creepy, but it felt uneasy and eerie. The gameplay was pretty repetitive, since it was just a spin on rock, paper, scissors. The best part of the game was the pixel art. I had fun exploring the different endings. Great job!

it's good, the execution was pretty awesome

idk about a game of chance for the competition, but the execution was wonderful!!

I chose RPS specifically because it was chance, figured that it would be more scary. The problem was that it was too luck based, so when you failed, it didn't feel that impactful.

The call/forfeit mechanic does introduce a slight amount of skill (there are ways to play that increase your odds), which I felt was just enough to make deaths feel like a mixture of your fault and fate.

Very, very good take on the (mini) genre.

Sound and art are very good.

Had a blast playing is an unique twist on rock-paper-scissors (vs your life). Its balance and polished execution make it perfect for a short game on Itch.io, even beyond this jam

The most br00tal game of RPS I've ever played.  I love how over-the-top it all is.

It may be a simple game of rock, paper scissors but the flair, graphical style, voice acting e.t.c. gives a really intense experience of it :D

Have played it through a few times now, nice work ;)

Great polish overall with nice atmosphere, art and voice acting. My only nitpick is that playing rock-paper-scissors isn't that fun to me for that many rounds in a row.
