A really good game with good sounds and art, I like how you have to reload, but it was difficult for me, and I seemed to only get one shot after reloading. I couldn't last that long as there was too many but it felt fair and got to choose a powerup which I think penetrates 1 enemy. I think it is worth working on it, what you have made so far is amazing.

It’s already a fun game but it’s clear that you had planned much more for it that didn’t make it in time. I like the art and the idea behind it with the manual reloading which can lead to some extra tension. Shooting with spacebar in this type of game feels very alien to me, I hope you change that in a later update. Great entry.
The game is really nice, thought I had the same issue as Samuel.
Set itch.io game page to have the option for full screen, because quite often moving the mouse around I clicked outside the game and I died.
The reloading system is nice, that remind me the First Person Shooter template I did, that reload rolling the mouse wheel up. I wouldn't have though the R button to reload. Right mouse click the first time to open the barrel, then right click again to put bullets as you have now. It will be easier for the brain to focus more on the game. Left hand only moves, right hand does all the gun work (aim, shoot and reload).
I liked the power up options I saw so far, though some sounds fair better than others, so the choice was "compulsory".
Definitely a game that you should complete and made it a commercial product.
Yeah, I would if you can add an option to custom the input, that would solve the problem too. So every player can adjust the input as they want.
I just realised that I sell the template here on itch.io, but I don't have the demo of my FPS on Rails here.
Try it in the Scirra Arcade:

Go full screen before playing, otherwise you will have issues with the mouse.
To reload a single bullet for gun and rifle, move the wheel of the mouse up and down to imitate the real life hand movement.
I actually quite like the weapon mechanics, adds more intensity to the gameplay. Also love the revolver is half the size of my guy XD
literally wouldn’t work on my browser (chrome on a fast m2 mac). haven’t given it scores because of this. couldn’t even press space to play.
Interesting addition to the top-down-shooter / vampire-survivor formula with the reloading mechanic. I feel it's held back by a lack of polish of some parts, for example there is barely and feedback if the player gets hit, so death were sometimes surprising.
The manual reload mechanics add a unique twist to the gameplay yet sometimes is buggy is worth working on
