Very fun game, I love the feel, the atmosphere, & the whole aesthetics of the game, great puzzle design too, reminds me of a Prof. Layton's puzzle. Great job team!

In what way does your game fit the theme?
We chose to address the theme in an indirect way. 'Outage' is designed to cater towards a two player experience, and this is the main reason why the levels are as challenging as they are. You are going to be more capable at completing the game if you work with another person to beat the puzzles, and that is how we chose to approach the theme when designing the game's mechanics.
We respect, however, that most people will be playing the game solo, and so that is, of course, also a possibility :)
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All code, art and music assets were made by the development team specifically for the jam (Thomas McCarthy, Patrick McCarthy & Joseph Mahon). Sound effects are from freesound.org and zapsplat.com
NOTE FOR PLAYERS: We’ve implemented a save system into the game, so don’t worry about losing your progress if you want to go away and come back to it later :D

Very well polished game ! I don't usually like puzzle games but i enjoyed this one :D Great work guys !
Ah! I just read your "In what way does your game fit the theme?" blurb, and realized it was supposed to be 2-player. It actually worked quite well 1-player, and I'm sure it would also work well 2-player.
Great puzzle design. It was sort of an experimental puzzle-solving process, and it wasn't headache-inducing. The gameplay followed basic rules and led to enjoyable levels.
I think level 20 may have had a dysfunctional teleporter.
Music and sfx added to the atmosphere nicely.
Graphics were simple and nice.
Well done coming up with a pleasant puzzle game!
Really fun game! The puzzle solving is hard but satisfying. I also really like the audio/graphics.
Wow , this is very simple but lovely game ... I literally enjoyed it.
Very nice puzzle game and interesting mechanics, bit hard for me but i like it :D
This game is insane!!!!! Omg, what a good puzzler. I strange take on the theme but I think that will catch the eyes of Brackeys so I got to say what a fantastic job you did. Still haven't finished the game yet but I had to come to rate it 5 stars as fast as possible lol.
Got to level 19, and I can say this is one of the best in the jam. Puzzles are pretty challenging but it's very rewarding, and it has a variety of mechanics that makes later levels interesting. Not to mention graphics and audio, fantastic job!
The artwork for the game was amazing. I liked the concept too, it was a unique spin on those types of slide puzzles.
The amazing design and the soundtrack made me an instant fan. Only I didn't resonate with the theme much. But, I can see the directions. Took me a while to figure out the puzzles. I like it very much.
You nailed the atmosphere down. I love the moody background and the audio, they really go well together. The green box's mechanic is also very creative, and the puzzles are well designed, especially in the later levels. The spike and swap tiles also help keep the later levels fresh and interesting.
I do enjoy the difficulty of the puzzles, but I think the difficulty curve could be a little better. For one, I think the green box should be introduced later in the game. Keeping track of three boxes, especially when one moves with both arrow keys, is already very challenging. Personally, I would have introduced the spikes first and the green box second to help the player ease into the game. I also think that you should make it more obvious which arrow keys control the blue and pink boxes, since it's quite easy to forget, which can be deadly when a box is near a ledge. I would just add a note on the bottom right saying that WASD is for blue and arrow keys is for pink (or vice versa, I forget). Finally, I'm not entirely sure how the game fits the theme. I get that you control multiple boxes, but I don't see the "stronger together" part of it.
Overall though, very well polished game. I had a ton of fun with the puzzles and spent a long time playing them. They're quite challenging, but it makes them all the more satisfying to beat.
Thanks a lot for the feedback! It's really helpful, and I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
Our game only really fits the theme properly if you go down the two-player route (two brains makes it easier to complete the levels, which is what the game is designed for, but we recognise that most people prefer to play it solo and so will be adapting this for our post-jam release following on from the feedback we've received - to target it more towards a single-player experience).
Very great game! One of my favorites in this jam! The art was phenomenal and the clicky noises that play when the map gets created at the start of the level tickle my ears. Very polished and smooth.
I also noticed a bug where you can go diagonally, and that someone already commented about it. I think it has something to do with after dying the cubes are still able to move or something because it only happens for me after I die.
Even so, great game!
Oh first, so simple rules and so great puzzles! Second, the sounds are very pleasant - there is a great job done with it! I would update the sound of the main moving cubes to less bass intense, but maybe it's only me. Overall very enjoyable!
Really good puzzle game, some puzzles got me stuck a long time, art and music are great really gives a good ambience, well design and greatly done nice job, the only thing for me is that I dont really see it fit the theme very well in my opinion I get that is supposed to be a 2 player experience but don't really see that represented in the game other than that really strong puzzle game and a great experience.
I just cannot use my brain anymore after this hell of development week, but I'll def come back to it after I sobered up again. :DD
Oh! I saw your progress on the discord channel! Super cool to finally play it!
So, oof, Im impressed, this game is one of the best in this Jam, what a great work, congratulations!
Im stuck right now on a level lmao, but Im definetly finishing it.
Let me just say that the GUI is impecable, sound design is beautiful, the mechanics are so fun, smart and creative. The game is super relaxing.
You are super talented and Im glad I got to play your game <3
