The single jump height ledges are WAY too exploitable, they're basically kill ledges. Some of the enemies fly in the opposite direction when they get hit so the hitbox might be off? And you can't hit the enemies if you're overlapped with them. Great game otherwise, and I had fun enough to abuse the exploits until I killed every enemy in the last room.

In what way does your game fit the theme?
The combat revolves around the player rewinding to trigger different effects
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All of the code is mine (if you don't count unity packages). The art and sound assets are publically available and free.

Interesting way of depicting the "Rewind" theme. The enemies are brutal though lol.
Good game, maybe you need to improve the enemies, and create e real reason to use the rewind mechanic.
MY game is about ninjas too...
Really good game! I like the idea and the levels are also good in the way difficulty increases. I only wish enemies had a little less health and maybe didn't attack straight away, as it is almost impossible not to get hit approaching them.
I really like how the rewind mechanic can deal damage to enemies and the relation it has with the special attack. Maybe needing to use it and not just being able to beat the levels without rewinding at all, would have made the theme more present.
Still, those are small things, it is a really good entry and I had a lot of fun playing it. Well done! Would highly appreciate if you could rate mine as well :)
The movements and the visuals are so nice! Really cool touch in the rewind mechanic (but I didn't use the rewind so much).
Really great job!
Very well polished. I had a lot of fun playing it. Great game. Well done! :)
It's quite engaging and very well polished, and it generally works good. I found the enemies quite annoying because of their fast movements during attacks that always confused me, but not in a terrible way. Also I think that you could have made the rewind mechanic more central to the gameplay, because it's actually pretty much playable even without it (at least in the first 3 or 4 levels).
Overall, well done, the work you put in it is visible
Awesome game :) I enjoyed the fact that the rewind didn't do only one thing, so you can play a bit more strategy.
Great looking game. Had fun.
I have some suggestions, if you don't mind:
- I feel like the enemies have too much HP or I didn't get how to kill them more successfully;
- I think you could increase the range of the player's attack. Got a little confused when the sword's swing animation was longer than an actual range of the attack;
- You could also give the enemies some frames of 'preparing' their attack, so it wouldn't be so unpredictable;
- As said before - consider adding the block mechanic.
I liked how you visualized the place to which the player is going to be rewound.
Well done!
This was one of the most amazing games I've played in this jam! I like the art of the character and the movement feels very smooth. I really like the way you implemented the rewind theme in like literally rewinding and the spectral attacks. I like how the player moves like a ninja.
One teeny tiny suggestion, the keys were kinda all over the place for me and took a lot of time to get used to it but overall it didn't matter that much. Maybe if you made two keys for rewinding, attacking, etc for wasd players and arrow key players
Awesome Job!
That was pretty fun! Overall mechanics reminded me of Yone from LoL. The movement of the character was quite quick as was the drop due to gravity, but that may be just how you like the game to play. The character movement otherwise is very smooth and blends nicely.
Possible improvements: Have you thought about introducing a block mechanic to the game? Currently the little goblins jump and dash attack around quite a bit so would be nice to be able to block some hits. On the subject of goblins, perhaps an attack animation where they leap at you, instead of the current dash attack, or maybe even multiple attack styles they could do.
Very nice overall! Great job!
Thanks! You're spot on, my main inspiration for the game was Yone. I did make the falling fast on purpose to emphasise quick movements.
Originally, I had plans to add a block when my friends pointed it out, but I just simply didn't have time to add it. Instead the dash and rewind makes you invincible. Nobody mentioned different attack patterns before, I'll add it to my list of ideas.
P.S. I already played and rated your game as well
Nice game, Fun to play this game. But, maybe you can add more features like when the player is rewind, not just the position is back to 4 seconds ago but also the HP is back from that time.
Here is my game https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/724784, hope you like it.
First of all, I liked that the game has clear mechanics. This is a platformer with mixed features, but everything works as planned(as far as I understand). I liked that the game design is thought out, when I tried to run through the LVL, just jumping all the goblins, the Game tells me No No No, go kill at least half. It is always great when the game is prepared for different behavior of players, while giving them a choice how to complete lvl. Kill all of the goblins, or only a half, and if half of what? Choose yourself! Well done!
Cool game. I like the feel of the game. The spectral damage when rewinding is satisfying to use. The game is surprisingly challenging, maybe a little too difficult actually. I think if there was more interesting mechanics around rewinding this would be an amazing game.
Originally there were plans for the rewind to have more effects, but I didn't give myself enough time. As for the difficulty, I kinda lost sense of what's hard after playtesting it over and over, I definitely should've made the player deal more damage. Thanks a lot for the feedback and for playing my game!
Loved the game design and the mechanics.
It's possible to perform infinite attacks on dead enemies, it's not that nice because you're not sure that the enemy is really dead.
Please, play my game too!
The graphics are amazing, and the tutorial was really good to educate the player. I think that the enemies did damage to easy, I think the damaged me when I hit them, also, if you stand on the top corner of somehing, you can hit the enemies without getting any damage haha, but was really cool, had a lot of fun :P
Slaying enemies have never been so fun! I loved the idea of rewinding and giving more damage to enemies(like elemental damage) it is very original! Movement is really smooth and satisfying. I wish there was two buttons for attacking, one physical damage and the other, so I can choose one of them. And please add more stuff, like enemies weaker to physical etc etc, that would be really cool to see in a future update!
Anyway, nice job on the game. Be sure to check mine too, and maybe rate it!
