The controls are tight! It is incredibly polished. I like the atmosphere this game gives off. Very creepy, great job.

Really greate movement feel, kinda remids me of Celeste/Hollow Knight. in Addition to same level changing. Really well done!

Submitted

Beautiful!

Developer

Thanks, man! Yours looks great as well!

Very Celeste inspired movement, excellent jumping controls even on keyboard and a fun premise! great work all around! Some of the death were cheap like getting killed by a moving snail from the next screen as soon as i transitioned over, but the checkpoints were generous enough for it to not matter too much.

Developer

Thanks for playing, man!  Also for your great feedback!  We agree that some of the levels have a few cheap kill traps.  The real pain is that it's too late to change it  T.T

I love the concept of dreams every night and most of the platforming is good, I didn't like the wings though. Nice job

Developer

Thanks for giving our game your time, man.  We would have liked to make sure we communicated everything to the player more than we did about how things like the wings and the dash worked...  We hope to have cinks like that ironed out when the jam is done.  Thanks again for playing!

This game is really fun and I loved the steady increase in difficulty. We'll balanced and looks great! Well done! :D

Developer

Thanks for playing, man!  I'm glad you enjoyed the difficulty curve! (Probably could use some smoothing, but at least you liked it! :D)

Movement felt really natural, art was absolutely beautiful! the effects and everything was satisfying to watch. Congratulations!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for those kind words, man!  We're glad you liked it!

The game was really fun to play and a bit challenging to. Really liked the graphics and the mechanics felt really good, maybe the wings felt a bit weird but other wise, really nice game.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback, man!  Hopefully we can work out a solid solution for those wings after the jam is finished.  Thanks for playing though!

The game is the most polished game I have seen!

Developer

Thanks, man!  That's a BIG statement, judging by some of these other games.  We appreciate it!

This is my favourite game for the game jam so far! Super cute and I had a lot of fun although it was frustrating at times :D The unicorn jumping platforms were adorable.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback, man!  The bouncy platforms were personally one of my favorite parts :D.  We agree it could've done with some more testing and balancing... hopefully we can work some of that out after the jam.  Thanks again for playing!

Love the game. Great art style and really good controls. Dashing from a wall sometimes went in the opposite direction when using the thumbstick but worked perfectly with the D-Pad. Love the variations on the level design and knowing the level made the final escape feel really good. Great job.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, man!  Yeah... we found some issues with the controller support just before the deadline and we didn't have time to diagnose it unfortunately.  Glad you made it to the end despite those bugs, though!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and we are really glad you enjoyed it.

We have found that weird mechanic/bug shortly before the end of the deadline, so we couldn’t do much about it.

The good news is that we have a fix for it ready to be released... but we can’t publish it until the voting period is over. We hope you give the newer version a try, once the votes are out, since we will try to improve some parts of the game based on player feedback.

I loved the sounds and music. The apricles really upped that animations. Pretty fun and I liked the idea for the theme. Good job ^^

Developer

Thanks for playing, man!  We're glad you enjoyed it!

Amazing, I loved the game, to include particles as a feedback for dash was a really cool touch, Im sorry but I will try def something like that in my next project :D  The art was amazing, too, I did art for our game so I can appreciate. And level design as well, smooth escalating. Nice work, my best rating so far!!! And i doubt someone will get better :D If you dont mind, how many pixels you used for your character?

Developer(+1)

the character was in a 48x48 space but was like 40 pixels tall and 20 wide

Submitted

Mine was "32x32", but not really :D And it didnt look close as cool as yours. But we also zoomed the camera to close, I will try to expand my art and make the camera bigger :)

thanks, that's a great advice.

Another great tool we used to get the pixel art looking correct was Unity's Pixel Perfect Camera.  It's a handy tool that let us tweak the resolution we were working in to get exactly the scale and style we were looking for.  It's also good to play with the "Pixels Per Unit" setting on your imported sprites and textures to get your desired scale.

Thanks for playing, man!

Submitted

Thanks, I will look into, I know that Cinemachine has check for pixel perfect, but I think it didn't much for our case. But resolution is definitely something I want to study.

Submitted

Good job! I like the art, and thought the player movement was quite smooth. It just barely fits the theme, but it does fit.

Btw, come visit and play our game it'll be very much appreciated

The Game is amazing, art is amazing, controls are amazing, so is sound. The Game is missing a tutorial, the shift mechanic was a bit hard to figure out, and the first thing i see, is standard font, it really makes the game look more time consuming in a way idk, just makes it look way better, i would  love to see this game developed more!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback man!  We appreciate the time you took to try it out!  We agree it could definitly do with more clear communication, with a tutorial or something similar.  Hopefully with more testing we'll get communication nailed down a lot better.  Thanks again for playing!

So cool! Reminds me of Celeste. It felt good playing, cool music, cool art. I enjoyed so much!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, man!  As it so happens I managed to waste about 6 hours of time I could have used actually helping my team binge playing Celeste ("Homework", right?  :D )

The game was really good. and also the player movement was really nice, way better than mine. i kinda feel like the dash is kinda unresponsive, but all in all it was a great game. the style of the game was very similar to celeste

Developer

Thanks for your feedback, man!  We definetly had games like Celeste, Shovel Knight and others in our heads as we worked on it.  Sorry you didn't quite like the dash...  Hopefully we can nail it down better in the future!  Thanks again for playing!

Gameplay was very good didnt really see how it effected the theme tho.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing and we are happy that you enjoyed the game.

Our idea was to interpret the theme as part of the story. Journey (the main character) is having recurring nightmare.

This makes you play the same level every night with some changes here and there, therefore “rewinding” the level and increasing the difficulty.

Really really nice gameplay. Controls were smooth as butter. I was hooked on the 2nd dream when i worked out i could climb up to the 2nd last room through the space you can fall down. Was very rewarding feeling like i was using the games mechanics to skip past a section of the map, whether that was intentional or not. Really nice job

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, man!  We kinda knew that you were able to do that, but we decided that if someone was able to do it they probably already knew quite a bit about the game's mechanics and that the part they skipped wouldn't have much to teach them.  The decision sounded a bit like "eehh leave it in for the speedrunners" :)  Whether that was a good decision ultimately I guess we don't know,  but I'm glad to hear that someone appreciated it! We'll consider you our first speedrunner :D
