How does the game fit the theme?
The gameplay revolves around the game of blackjack where cards represent ingredients to bake biscuits. The player needs to balance the risk of busting versus the reward of baking powerful cookies to feed waves of ravenous raccoons.

Art Design and audio is quite good. The leaderboard functionality seems quite interesting and curious to how it is implemented.

Now this is what I call a hostile work environment. STOP ATTACKING ME YOU GUYS AND WE WILL ALL GET COOKIES SOONER
I love this so much, great work!
This is an amazingly well polished game for a single week, well done to you all! The blackjack idea fits in very well with a card battler, the visuals are great, and there's a ton of content. Fantastic work.
The mix of card games and blackjack is excellent! The game is very well produced and polished. I really liked the graphics.
I love this take on a baking game! The mix between gambling and strategy is super well done
I didn't immediately get it, but then I saw the fantastic tutorial in the game description! It's something I'll add to our game's page!
Also ofc love the art and music, amazing job to all devs! :D
Love the art on this one! Everything was very well executed and I couldn't ask for a better game. Great work!
This is all 5's across the board for me! Love the art style, the gameplay mechanics, and everything about this one. Sadly, I died on wave 14, but that just really makes me want to go back for another.
Brilliant work!
That was crazy, the idea the art the level of polish was incredible, that is i think the best game in this jam, if i would see this on steam id pay 10$ for it it has the quality of a full released indigame why has this only 12 ratings you made an excpeptional game
Yo you guys cooked hard, this game is serving. Nice card game and super cool gameplay
This game ATE, pun intended. Awesome gameplay and art, amazing work for one week
Loved the game! really creative and fun, I had to rush some times because these racoon were hungry indeed haha.
The only thing that would be nice is that when you open the shop it should pause the game, I was not able to read the upgrades and these hungry creatures were already attacking me.
Also putting the text field on the same level of the play button for the Leaderboard would be excellent, since not everyone actually opens the option menu.
Thank you!
Good point on the player name text box. We left the menus UI for the end and ran out of time. When opening the shop we will pause the animation but do not worry, the raccoons operate on turns and only attack after you bake a cookie. :)
Very creative take on the theme while incorporating Black Jack mechanics with heavy influence from deckbuilders especially Slay the Spire! Really loved juggling between the reward of damaging/healing and the risk of bursting/burning! The wonderful artwork and audio design ties everything together nicely. I have to admit that I stock up on a full tray of cookies while keeping the last skinny beaver alive :D There's potential to take this further and hope to see the shop/modifier mechanics fleshed out more!
Oh hey :D, thank you so much for playing! And haha yeah, I ended up with the same strategy :D.
Amazing effort! Really liked the balance of seeing how many I could add before exceeding the heat limit. I think one think that would benefit is showing the exact cards that are changed as a result of the modifiers.
We wanted to do something like this but ran out of time. The deck view as is it’s very powerful since it gives the player a glance of what’s coming next without having to count cards 😬
This game was really solid. The visuals and sound effects were great and the inspiration from blackjack was an interesting twist. I think if you gave more visual feedback on the multiplier bonuses it would help the player understand their hands better and make better decisions. Additionally I feel being able to eat any cookie yourself was a little too OP. Caught myself just farming spice cookies when fighting weaker mobs to blow up my health. Not sure the best way to fix that, but I imagine either only allowing you to eat certain cookie combos (like you need a honey card or something), or making it so the mobs attacks get stronger over time forcing you to eliminate them sooner rather than just farming them. Game core was solid and I can see this growing into a really good game if you guys decide to take it further. I definitely caught myself playing this game much longer than I planned to as it was a lot of fun. Great work!
I ended up doing the same myself when playing 😂 Yeah, we wanted to have more focused decks as well with different effects but limiting with enemy affinities, and limiting what the player eats or giving them some affinity is definitely a great idea we should explore. Thanks for playing.
This was really pleasent to play. A good balance of risking and thinking. Was really bumped when my cookies got burned haha. Love the idea of feeding instead of fighting.
Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it!
I love the game art and the animations. The sound effect were well done as well. I love how you implemented the risk it for the biscuit theme similarly as how I implemented it. I didn't really understand how the shop worked as I couldn't really find my money clearly when buying upgrades. Overall quite enjoyable!
Thanks for playing! I'm curious how your game is similar to ours, so I will definitely check it out!
Regarding the shop: Each update costs exactly one token (our currency). But it's a good hint, that we should display it anyway, thanks! :)
Great game, very polished and nice art :)
Thank you! :)
I got kinda addicted to this card game lol. The visuals are amazing and I like how different raccoons have different sound effects too. Different upgrades / modifiers definitely makes the game more interesting. I liked how the bear facial expression when he is low on health, it's like me on Monday xD. Very well polished and I would say you guys did an excellent job!
The gameplay elements are communicated well to the player. I was not that far but there could be a lot of depth and deckbuilding here.
Thank you! Yes, we had soo many ideas, we wanted to implement, but we had to limit it to a very basic set of rules. But we are thinking of expanding it in a post-jam release :).
