How does the game fit the theme?
I took the theme as a challenge, or perhaps.. a threat?

Can't Lose is a minimalist puzzle platformer where the game really wants you to win, so the question is, how can you lose?

If you get stuck on a level the name is usually a bit of a clue, if you're still stuck you can always press esc to return to the menu and use the level select to skip

Also, just out of curiosity, leave a comment if you complete the last level, i'm a little worried its a bit tricky to work out

*** Thank you to everyone who's played so far, and thank you for all the feedback! I won't update the game during the Jam, but i am working on improving the feel of the game right now, and have a fair few new level ideas i would like to try out after the Jams finished***

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Music from https://www.fesliyanstudios.com/
sound effects from https://archive.org/

Very fun! It's hard but in a good way, challenging.

im a loser!

Very creative, I giggled a few times at how I lost the levels... they were clearly very thought out. Had a blast playing this one and saw it through to the end!

Great design! I don't usually play puzzle platformers to the end, but I played every level. Great puzzles. I particularly liked Squid Game.

Uniqe and great game design. Just loved it. My favorite level is green light red light. Very creative level designs. Had lots of fun.

I absolutely zero complaints!

Simple concept nicely executed, I enjoy some good twist of gameplay and I was served, well done !

Completed it, really quite a nice game. Reminds me a little of VVVVVV. The creative and whimsical concept and level designs are the best part by far. I'd love to see this one polished and fleshed out even more. Awesome work

Easily the best idea for this theme.

Fun game, I would lower the acceleration of the player. But very cool!

This was so fun! Amazing idea! The level design was also awesome!

First I was doing the opposite, then I realized and started basicly winning. Nice trap on the level 10

Actually I lose a few times! I thought if I ignore the hints on the wall, I can break the rules! But I failed... Nice take on jam theme, I think it's one of the best theme matching games I played so far!

Finally I met someone who uses the same idea!:) Still, we have different vibes for sure. I feel that your game is a rage game, like "Cat Mario" or "Mr Karoshi". And you have many small levels, witch is a good choice for this "fast" type of game. My general suggestions are:

1) Improve the graphics a bit. It may not be important for this type of game or for a jam game, but there is a separate category in the rating for this.

2) Improve the controls. What I tried to do before the actual implementation - make all platformer mechanics work well. Because before you make a "platformer with a secret feature (dying instead of winning)", you should make a good platformer at first. Now the controls are a bit hard to get used to, and it seems there is no coyote time.

I think that's all about it. I really liked your implementation, great job, man!

this was my first jam and first attempt at game development, so going for a super clean minimalist style helped keep things moving. Definitely agree the controls could feel better, but as i was focused on level design more than anything. Thanks for playing, really glad you liked it, good luck in the rest of Jam!
