How does the game fit the theme?
I took the theme as a challenge, or perhaps.. a threat?
Can't Lose is a minimalist puzzle platformer where the game really wants you to win, so the question is, how can you lose?
If you get stuck on a level the name is usually a bit of a clue, if you're still stuck you can always press esc to return to the menu and use the level select to skip
Also, just out of curiosity, leave a comment if you complete the last level, i'm a little worried its a bit tricky to work out
*** Thank you to everyone who's played so far, and thank you for all the feedback! I won't update the game during the Jam, but i am working on improving the feel of the game right now, and have a fair few new level ideas i would like to try out after the Jams finished***
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Actually I lose a few times! I thought if I ignore the hints on the wall, I can break the rules! But I failed... Nice take on jam theme, I think it's one of the best theme matching games I played so far!
Thanks for playing :) glad you liked it
Finally I met someone who uses the same idea!:) Still, we have different vibes for sure. I feel that your game is a rage game, like "Cat Mario" or "Mr Karoshi". And you have many small levels, witch is a good choice for this "fast" type of game. My general suggestions are:
1) Improve the graphics a bit. It may not be important for this type of game or for a jam game, but there is a separate category in the rating for this.
2) Improve the controls. What I tried to do before the actual implementation - make all platformer mechanics work well. Because before you make a "platformer with a secret feature (dying instead of winning)", you should make a good platformer at first. Now the controls are a bit hard to get used to, and it seems there is no coyote time.
I think that's all about it. I really liked your implementation, great job, man!
this was my first jam and first attempt at game development, so going for a super clean minimalist style helped keep things moving. Definitely agree the controls could feel better, but as i was focused on level design more than anything. Thanks for playing, really glad you liked it, good luck in the rest of Jam!
Love the music!
i had so much fun playing this i really liked it !
Rated! I feel that is like a rage game, I liked it
Heeell yeah I am a loser! Awesome game. Played till the end. Loooved the squid games level!
Very nice and a good fit to the theme. The difficulty is definitely too high for me though, couldn't get past level 5.
yeah i think i fell into the trap of thinking things were easier than they were because i had played them so many times! The trick for level five is to walk forward slightly (to get away from the hidden block), then watch the timer, full jump (hold space) just before 2 seconds, then walk back to where you started before the second flag gets you
I'm so bad at these but cool game!
Really fun game! I got to level 15 but i didn't understand how to complete it. I loved the take on the theme. My only feedback is that the acceleration felt a bit too much.
for level fifteen, the clue is in the name, remember to check the instructions!
I just don't get which instructions. Are they inside the game or in the description?
Completed till level 12 but not level 15! Great idea!
Great work Cackfog! Lots of really clever and funny puzzles. level 9 really made me laugh, the timing was perfect
Thanks for playing! i was playtesting a bug fix today and actually fell for level 9 myself.. shame on me
Nice game! Simple and fun!
A jam standout!! This was so much fun to play, and I don't remember the last time I bust out laughing while playing a puzzle platformer. A great spin on the genre!
I haven't had that much fun in ages. And I completed the game! I was so locked in. Really good level design and challenging puzzles that we only mad harder by my own noobish nature. 5 stars all round.
Very fun game! Enjoyed the puzzles a lot.
One of my fav that I have played so far! You did well on the interpretation of the theme and the level design reflected that.
whoever designed the levels absolutely cooked here, really tight game execution, would honestly play a lot more levels
Great puzzle game, my only issue is that the sound is mixed quite loud even when I have my volume down to 10%.
I absolutely love the concept! Was so fun I stuck around for all the levels. You really got me a few times bro. It felt like me verses you directly.
Very well done and fun little puzzle/rage game. Reminds me of that game about an elephant in a room from when I was younger. Great job!
