I like the idea in theory. But managing it was rather difficult for me. Movement seemed inconsistent at times. Good job though for only 7 days.

It looks great, love the art. The planning mechanic was a bit hard for me.

Love the premise! Really liked the pixel art and smooth animations! Only thing was that some moves seemed to just happen before they reached their order in the timeline, not sure if im misunderstanding a mechanic or something

Love the idea and the visuals. Game itself is good but I'm not sure that it happens to me but attacking is not working in the order I wanted but great game for just one week.

Impressive that you've made all this in one week as a solodev!

I really like the artstyle, and the gameplay fits the theme very well. Too bad you ran out of time to add audio, I think that could have added a lot to the atmosphere.

Well done!

Really unique concept and such lovely art and animation! I had a lot of trouble defeating the enemies that jumped down from trees, I think it's really punishing to be able to be killed on the same frame you hit an enemy, might be worth considering some invincibility frames (if it doesn't take away the challenge too much!)
Really liked this one!!

Hello! This was cool. It seems that i do like these type of games where you have to figure out the right moves. Beautiful aesthetics and nicely done animations. I enjoyed the game!

Submitted(+1)

Beautiful art and I really liked the concept! I may have encountered some glitching with the moves not proceeding in the input order but still very fun.

Developer(+1)

thanks and will fix In v2 after game jam ends ;)

The art reminds me of penusbmic style.

I like the predictive game. I've seen it alot of similar concepts prior so it was easy to follow.

Developer

definitely inspired by penusbmic (who isn't)

oh and if you do come across the similar concepts, please share!

Super cool idea, gorgeous art. I could really use a mode where I can see where my character would be after performing the current set of inputs - so I can plan a little better. I often missed enemies because I didn't realize where my character would be. Also, sound would make this game so much more immersive.

Developer

thanks and agreed!

I like the game mechanic.

Some things you might work on:

Game needs sound

I barely used "slash"

It is hard to know how high my jumps are or how long my steps are. Making background  or terrain in a way that helps players understand these might help.

Also since the game is heavy on visual cues. Using art style that is more clear might be better in my opinion.

Developer

valid feedback. will definitely adopt them in v2

Awesome gameplay!

Developer

thanks!

Cool visuals. The sounds will make the game awesome. The ‘programmable’ combat has a lot of potential for development. Congrats on the submission.

Pretty neat experience! Plannings your moves ahead of time is definitely a cool concept.

Developer

thanks!

I love the art and the concept!

It's just a bit sad there is no sound at all-

Developer(+1)

yeah, the first 24h were great, core mechanics, all done. On Thursday I changed the entire core mechanics and was working on bugs till Sunday's submission. I think no audio was a better choice than "more bugs". Sadly, even the 3rd stage is not fun enough. And I had more enemies that didn't make the cut!

Developer(+1)

Was fun learning GDScript in a week!
I started in C# which is what I use at work and quickly realized I won't be able to make it for web, so I switched to GDScript, easy to pick up!

This is my first game jam, and probably counts as my first video game, other than what I did in Flash when I was a kid, some 25 years ago?

Ran out of time for the audio. I really focused on bugs, and still left some in. I wanted to make 10 stages, but proud I made at least 3!

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it!

Super fun game mechanic! It's like a singleplayer YOMiHustle. Would totally love to see this expanded out more with additional enemies and attack progressions, but was shocked when I saw this was a one-person entry! The tutorialization works imo, and it was fun to try and better understand the mechanics across even the few levels that are here. Seriously, great stuff here!

Developer

hey! thanks, I'm quite excited/proud of the concept. I wanna try and expand on it after the game jam. I think the idea can be worked on for something more fun. the current implementation is too draft/buggy to be able to enjoy.

Submitted(+1)

sorry but I tried multiple times and I can't understand the predict mechanic...

Developer

yeah, it's hard to get it right, it needs polishing to be enjoyable. do you like the idea though?

Submitted(+1)

I always like good combat in games, so I believe it could be really cool idea if the execution done right :D

(+1)

The game has a very original and fun mechanic! With a few new enemies, new attacks (also dodge) and new levels, it could have been a steam quality game.

Developer

oh wow thanks! yes I agree, I'm excited to make a proper game out of this draft.

Submitted(+1)

nice game! I really like the mechanic, but didn't understand it at first tho, the game is really creative and firts the theme perfetctly!

Developer

wow thanks! yeah, I thought it was fun to leave the mystery to the player to discover it, and perhaps not a great idea. a few more levels to allow the player to gradually discover all the mechanics would be a good addition.
