How does the game fit the theme?
You are a cat, and you can switch on and off elements of the platformer using the almighty power of static electricity - what could possibly go wrong here?

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Only a few helpers from my previous project were reused

How many people worked on the game?

Interesting concept! Keep up the good work!

Fun platformer. The jumps/puzzles are well crafted: not too easy but not too difficult either.

I would have liked some additional sound effects, for example when using your electric shock move.

Good entry to the jam, well done.

I really like the game’s concept and mechanics. The level design is well-crafted, allowing players to learn progressively. The visuals and sound are relaxing. Overall, it’s a fun and well-made game!

Very charming and innovative puzzle platformer! Cozy art and music, nicely done! There are a few minor control quirks, such as the timing for jumps and the need for better clarity on which elements require electrification, but overall, these are small issues that don't detract from the engaging gameplay. Great work!

Very nice game! Good job, loved the idea, the concept, and the fact that you can see the range of the electricity power ! It's weel done, congratulations to you two!

Pretty cool! The level design was fun and the art was kinda charming! The shock gimmick is pretty fun. Nice Little game overall !

(Tho I would like to know what shenanigans did the cat do to get there?)

Thank you for playing and for kind words!

Regarding the cat… um, it’s complicated, but if you ask… :D According to game lore, it’s a digital cat in a virtual universe, who looks for the breaches in the security software to sneak out into the real 3D world and become a real 3D cat. But let it be our secret, since it is not highlighted in the game now

Dang... what a cat!

Nicely done! I really liked the puzzles and the elctroshock mechanic is really novel. The character controller could probably benefit from a smidge of coyote time since I'd often slip off the edge, but that didn't take away from the enjoyment!

Nice platformer, cool art and music, well done ! :)

I like the visual and the audio. Overall, I enjoyed the game :)

I like the music and the visuals are nice too. I'll admit that I clicked on the game for the sake of the poofed up cat. I'm not a huge fan of precision platformers so when the literal first jump was pixel perfect nearly clicked away. Would be nice to have a bit more lead-in than that. I also struggled a bit with the first exit. Just walking in to it made it swing open but didn't actually get me out of the level. Because I didn't know what that item was yet I assumed it was some sort of switch so I spent a long time running back and forth across the level shocking it, and the starting icon, and trying everything I could think of to get the switch to do something to the level. Then finally I jumped in to it and that worked. The rest of the levels were fun. Some nice puzzles that make clever use of the mechanic.

Thank you for playing. Your feedback is much appreciated! I’m sorry to hear the first level caused a lot of confusion. I will try to improve it, as the pixel-perfect jumps were not the goal. It should be made more evident what elements to switch and how to do that.

Great puzzle platformer I really, really enjoyed it.

I love the graphism and your color palette, the cat is very cute, all animations are very smooth.
I would reduce the delay of apparition of the platform to a more quicker quasi instant thing (your alpha interpolation)

Timings are very hard, very quickly, maybe have a learning curve a bit less steeper. I do love the fact that it is already like it for the first two levels but let me tell you what goes wrong with me : I started the game by jumping the first two jumps without having the need to electrify (platform are in reachable with a simple jump) so I did not get that it was a thing. I would just add a text above elements on few first levels for instructions (I wish I had the time to do this for my own game) and I should have read you page first (guilty) but that would be super cool.

I did not see that the moving platform circle is a switch, I thought it was the platform itself.

I think the game deserve one or two first levels:
- One with a single gap and without the need to electrify or use the recharge item. (learn jump and exit level)
- Second is with one platform that i need to switch on (learn electrify)
- Third is an easy puzzle that requires recharge (you level one without the ability to complete it with a simple jump).

Keep up the good work, you are in my collection for this jam !

Thank you for playing and for detailed feedback! As usual, for an author, the difficulty seems pretty reasonable, if not easy. But as I see from the feedback, it could be more approachable. And you are right; a few tutorial-style levels at the start could also help.

The fact that the platform’s moving function is switched separately from its solid body makes it more interesting. Perhaps making the switch more prominent will help visually identify it as a separate thing.

"The fact that the platform’s moving function is switched separately from its solid body makes it more interesting." > I totally agree

Great game, although I couldn't get past level 3 cause I couldn't get both platforms switched on, but that's on me I loved the concept though. You could have used up key also for jump, that would have made it even more intuitive :)

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! The up key for jumping is a good idea It’s sad to hear that the game was too difficult. I will look into changing some levels after the jam.

Hi! nice concept :)

I enjoyed it, it's satisfying, relaxing and charming. I saw some route skips, like on some levels you can just jump from platform to platform and like 50% of the level, but it's not that big of a problem! Great Job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! If time permits, I will tweak the levels after the jam

Hi fellow cat developer ;)

Very nice game! My favourate part is when you can solidify the moving platform and they just stay solidified forever, making me happy to go back and forth to charge all of them :D

The gameplay is very intuitive as well! Well executed
