  • Cool idea, great vibe, goes well with the theme, I am just not a fan of platforming and the controls could be a little tighter. This is one of the better ones I have played so far, good job!
  • Enjoyed the premise and the art style, the mechanics were a little confusing at first but I got the hang of it. Shame about the ending bug, glad you have a fix in GitHub

What do you like about your game?
movement and/or the general style of the game. super proud, first time doing something like this

I like the style and movements of this game

i got 13/16 candy's couldn't find the other ones

super well made, reminds me a lot of mirror's edge. the character controller is very smooth and responsive.

i would have liked some pointers to help find the last few candy's,

and the default mouse sensitivity shouldn't be 1, should be 4 or something like that.

10/10

nice graphics and movement. The way the world is created together with the movement is fun, the combat feels a bit off and too different, I like the idea of collecting stickers though and might be used for further exploration

Absolutely loved the platforming parts! Genuinely really solid exploration, the art style is fantastic, I can see how much care you put it into and I just wanna say you’ve smashed this jam out the park!

I was not really fond of the battling, it was a cool concept but the balancing is wildly off, that giraffe fight was brutal, and then it bugged out afterwards, 4 animals is the point I felt like it had gone on too long and only carried on to climb the skyscraper, but then it bugged out at the end and I was stuck in the giraffe area, I dunno if there was more platforming after that but it did leave a sour taste, these things happen though and I don’t think it’ll impact how awesome your game is, I absolutely think you should keep working on it though, maybe pull back on the battling and develop the world a bit more, at least for me that was the more interesting part of the game. This is all my perspective though, you should really do whatever it is that you have fun making, you’re clearly going places with a skillset like this!

p.s. this is the area I got stuck, is the game supposed to end here? image.png

thank you so much!! i very much agree that the fights are probably the worst part of the game. glad you still enjoyed it! i’ve tried putting a disclaimer about the bug both in the description and when downloading but i guess it’s still easy to miss it, the game is definitely not supposed to end there (but there aren’t any fights after that, just a cutscene)

Submitted(+1)

Honestly, they’re only the worst part because everything is so high quality! I think the platforming game feel is such a solid base for a big exploration based game, I’m a sucker for that kind of gameplay though, loved it! Thanks for making it!

I had to give up as I was collecting pets for what seems to be an hour (and my real dog wanted to go out), I'm either very bad at it or that's the glitch you mentioned? And, I can't say I enjoyed the paper rock scissors thing as it was rigged and time consuming without really being fun. But other than that, fabulous work, among top games of this jam for sure, mainly due to art, inventiveness, (mostly) smooth gameplay, and the skill it must have took to make it this well-rounded.

Masterpiece of a game

Submitted(+1)

This game is great on nearly every level. I think the only thing I would add would be look sensitivity. Mine feels super low.

Developer

thank you! have you checked the options? the range should be enough

Submitted

I must've missed it lol, my mistake

Submitted(+2)

most rigged rock paper scissors ever

Developer

lmao true

This is awesome.

Truly a Masterpiece

This game is fantastic! Great visuals, story, all the types of gameplay mixed together, it's incredible! I couldn't finish it because I'm a bit shit at the platforming, but I did enjoy finding the treats and the RPG-lite combat :)

this was REALLY fun and good!! the art style is rly fun, the gameplay is rly unique, the vibe is just full of personality and i loved experincin it. unfortunately (SPOILER WARNING in strikethrough) there was a missing wall in the animal shelter after the giraffe fight and i thought it was a possible secret but i fell out of the map and seemingly locked myself out of progressing any further soooo i haven't beaten it yet but i would 100% recommend this!!

Developer

thank you !! yeah the softlock is just a bug in the itch.io release :( i only discovered it after submitting

Submitted(+1)

Very nice and gorgeous entry ! Aside from the camera issues (been there, third person camera is a pain), and some softlock i really enjoyed the game !
Small note I think kicking dogs even in imagery is a bit of a turn off even if you don't end up doing that!
And I feel that 10 animals to get to the end was a bit much, as the gameplay was just shaking and nearly breaking my mouse !

Developer(+1)

ahhh thank you! i appreciate the criticism, i do agree that there are maybe a bit too many animals with little variation

This is truly phenomenal work

This game has SOOOOO much style, holy. The movement felt great, only complaint is that wall jumping felt a bit hard to wrangle and didn’t do what I wanted all the time.

The turn based combat is cool in concept, but didn’t feel super interesting to me. Petting tires out my arm really quick too lmao.

Amazing game, truly. I would love to see this fleshed out into a full game.

An incredibly cool game and a very beautiful style! One of the best in this jam!

Submitted(+1)

This game is really cool! Can't believe how much you got accomplished in 2 weeks! Love the art style, music and journal/options menu. The wall jumping controls took some getting used to, but once I figure it out, it was fun jumping around the city. Amazing work, and as others have said, very unique!

Submitted(+1)

Dang this one had so much personality, it's a lot of fun to play. I do feel like the initial pet collection does take a bit too long without enough variation, and when I beat the giraffe I don't think the next scene triggered so I was just stuck in the room and couldn't use the elevator or anything, so I might have missed the ending, but this felt like a very unique style of game. Super polished, well done :)

Developer

thank you!! yeah, i think the fighting mechanic in general is a bit slow. the ending cutscene is broken as mentioned in the game’s description (i should make it more obvious i guess)

Submitted

Ah a missed that. Bummer, but the rest of the experience was quite good and I'm also a fan of the AI bashing that's done throughout :P

Developer

haha glad to hear

What a fun game! Man the whole 2.5D graphics worked so well with it, it really reminded me of some sega dreamcast games, and I sensed some vibes from edgy 90's and early 2000's anime in there.

Also the pet capturing system was really fun and hilarious!

Great sound design and excellent music!

The wall jumping is a little wonky, but kind of in a good way if that makes sense? I spent like 10 minutes just wall jumping around and got distracted from the rest of the game. I then I realized I was completely lost. I'll come back later to finish it.

I'm a sucker for 3D cel-shaded graphics, and Paper Mario 3D sprites. It looks a bit like one of those quirky games you'd see on the PS2.

Developer

that’s awesome to hear, tysm
