I found a fun way to innovate the text-based game experience

Love it when games go meta and for a text based game, you really nailed the presentation. The itch.io page alone catches your eye and makes it very intriguing to check the game out :)
thank you! :)
What a great idea! It felt super innovative. :) It took me way too long to figure out that “right click->open with” is the way to go 🤣
Thanks! I was watching a streamer play it, and apparently you can also drag the scene files onto the .exe file!
Had A LOT with this game, never played one like this where you have end up interacting with it outside of the game itself. As always love the music and the visuals. Amazing!
thank you! :)
Very cool concept. I feel like it is imposable to do without the clues. Nevertheless, good job!
thanks for the feedback!
"The vault was here"... Awesome game! Thanks for sharing it with us. I also happy to see what tools did you use. That is also really helpful. Good job!
thank you! :)
I absolutely live for games like these. Having to solve puzzles OUTSIDE of the actual game is probably my favorite genre of games as of late. I just wish there were some more SFX after dialogue to help the imagination a bit. Also the clues were absolutely NOT clues, they were just answers. Still, I really enjoyed my time with this game!
Hey! Thanks for the kind words :)
What kind of SFX do you think I should put after the dialogue? (I'm actively working on improving the game.)
Also, for the clues, I get that those are answers. This was partially intentional since I wanted to make sure nobody got stuck permanently. That's why I have the note that tells you to try to solve each puzzle without the clues.
Thanks again for your feedback. Glad you liked the game :)
There could be both clues and solutions I think - in different files perhaps, and for sfx on top of my head I can think of like water dripping in the cave when the text says "water drips from the celing", wind sounds when you stare into the abyss, or river sounds when walking next to the river
Cool. Good to know!

Good sound and atmosphere. The game is nice but it's hard to understand puzzle requirements. Altering files and the vibe of the game remind me of IMSCARED a bit. I liked the approach of opening the files with the game. Nice job but it was a bit hard to understand for me.
Heya! Thanks a lot for your feedback. What do you think I could make easier to understand without spoiling too much? Did you notice the clue files?
Charming and difficult puzzle game, got stuck with only 3 endings but will definitely try again soon. Main feedback would be by golly please stop closing the game so much.
Thanks very much for your feedback! Where specifically do you think the game should stop closing as much?
Fascinating! This is a real mind bender. Definitely an aberration!
I'll come back to it to get to all 10 endings.
Well done!
Thank you! I'm so glad you liked the game :)
I enjoyed playing it. Nice audio and story line... felt a bit abrupt to exit the game immediately when the story path ends (unless that was just it crashing or something on my machine). Nice submission, great job!
oh the story path isn't ENDING when that happens. You should read the text file in the build folder that tells you to read it. The game holds a lot more...
Edit: The file is called 'READ THIS FIRST PLS'
Ah, thanks - I completely missed that file. I just ran the game directly

the gameplay idea is amazing, i really like that kind of puzzle-based twist. atmosphere is very well-made and the story is engaging, im curious what the game is hiding in the other endings cause i havent finished all of it yet
Glad you're liking the game! There are 10 endings. One of them I consider to be the 'final' ending. Ending #10, I think. The game does something if you reach EVERY ending too. I'm still working on this so let me know if you have any cool ideas for it.
A very original interpretation of a text-based game. I really liked the flow. Although it would be nice if the progress was persistent so that it encourages you to play for other endings too. Now you have to do the things all over again. But other than that, a really simple and engaging game.
hey! Thanks for the feedback. I'll look into trying to not erase the save every time you get an ending...
not really a browser game if i can't play it in the browser
Sorry about that. I did not mean to bait-switch anybody. I just wanted to have a cool browser-based prologue.
