A rather strange game, I must admit. It’s a bit of a shame that it forces you to play with two players — that feels a bit limiting. I find the overall execution quite minimalistic, which really keeps me from getting absorbed in the game, or even in its theme itself.

The type of game it is doesn’t really make me want to keep playing, to be honest. So, an interesting demo — maybe it could evolve into something else in a different style. But for now, it doesn’t really grab me.

In any case, good luck. You can tell there’s effort being put into it. I noticed some transparent clouds passing by at one point — that was a nice touch.

Yet another great game — really, absolutely nothing to complain about. Even the music is catchy, and the adventure is fun, with two different weapons for the hero.

It’s true that a big graphical update would help make the game even more enjoyable, because you can tell there’s a lot of good intent behind it, but unfortunately it still feels quite minimalistic in that aspect.

But honestly, the game is engaging, the gameplay is responsive, and there are even underwater sections — it’s really not bad at all. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!

I’m really sorry, but I absolutely didn’t understand the game at all. It’s true that it’s neither attractive nor addictive, and technically it’s very, very basic. I just couldn’t figure out the concept of the game.

I saw that you can play with two players, but using the same controller, which is a bit of a shame. So I gave one star across the board, but only because I truly didn’t understand the game.

Also, technically, it’s extremely minimalistic.

Honestly, an impressive game — the way the second player is handled by the computer is incredible. There’s no slowdown, it looks great, and there are amazing transparency effects. The game is super dynamic, and it really makes you think that Alien Soldier could have been possible on the Super Nintendo.

There’s nothing to complain about — I’m not really a fan of the design of the two main sprites, the two characters, but everything else looks great. It’s a very enjoyable experience, and apparently it’s even playable with two players, which is awesome.

Maybe adding weapon upgrades or similar elements could make it even more engaging, but honestly, once again, it’s extremely promising. Well done!

Once again, a real game with incredible potential. A slightly more precise version of the controls would make it almost perfect. There’s nothing to complain about — each level evolves, there’s even action, you fight against monsters, so it’s not just a strategy game as it might seem at first glance. Honestly, really well done. Once again, I’d love to see the game go even further. Anyway, congratulations and thank you!

An interesting concept — a platformer that obviously brings Mario to mind, and apparently you can get quite far in the game, but I just couldn’t manage it; maybe I didn’t fully understand everything. Honestly, it’s really nice — with the title screen, the setup, the theme — nothing to complain about. A really fun project, and I hope I’ll be able to get further and reevaluate it properly.

Honestly, an incredible demake — the gameplay is perfect, super responsive. I see you even made several levels on top of that. It’s really addictive, there’s nothing to complain about. Truly, it’s very enjoyable.

I don’t see any major flaws — it’s addictive and does its job perfectly. It’s just a shame there’s no music or sound, though. That’s really the only downside. But hey, there’s even a title screen!

Very pleasantly surprised by the game. This is a real game. I would have liked an animation when he shoots, but overall it’s well animated, and there’s good music that really has that old-school demoscene vibe. There’s a story, there’s distortion effects, there are nice graphics — honestly, there’s nothing to complain about.

I’m just a bit left wanting more — I would have liked a bit more content — but all the ingredients are there to make a great game.

A huge thank you for this game — very surprising! At first, when you see the title screen, you don’t expect much, but the concept quickly grabs you. It starts as a small, unassuming strategy game, but where at first I thought you just had to place the balls on the stars, the color system and ball fusion mechanic turned out to be absolutely brilliant.

The only problem is that I got so caught up in it that I wished it kept going longer. Honestly, thank you so much — I’d love to see this turned into a full game.

First of all, thank you for this game — I’m honestly impressed by the fact that there’s a title screen, a menu, even an options menu; all of that is really nice. Even at the end, there’s a little recap of what you were supposed to collect — you can feel this game has real potential.

It’s very satisfying to shoot with the rifle; it actually reminded me a bit of Blackthorne, that satisfying feeling of firing a gun. (Not to be taken out of context, of course!)

Unfortunately, the monsters don’t attack — even if they touch you, nothing happens; they’re just there to get blown up, which is a bit of a shame.

But the character runs, he’s fairly well animated, and it gives off a bit of a Doom Troopers vibe on the Super Nintendo — slightly digitized. There’s only one level, sure, but it exists — and in this case it feels like an actual game, or at least on its way to becoming one.

I think this game has real potential, though it’s definitely held back by the very, very, very empty environments. But aside from that, honestly, well done — it’s even quite well programmed.

Even if you kind of brushed me off a bit on Twitter — of course, even if that’s true, it was all in good humor. The game… wow. My whole community and I were blown away. It’s truly exceptional. But honestly, I already had a feeling it would be. Naturally, after seeing the game you made with Oti — actually, the two games you made with Oti, both of them beautiful, especially the second one — I was pretty sure I’d find some of those same amazing effects again.

But here, the concept, the idea, even the gameplay, the level design you managed to pull off in such a short time… seriously, it’s a real treat. A huge thank you. I didn’t give the music a perfect score, just because I would have loved to hear a second track, and I have to leave some room for others.

But otherwise, once again, congratulations. Thank you for treating us to this. You give us hope for the future of the Super Nintendo. Thanks again.

First of all, thank you for your participation. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by the game and its main theme. There’s even a story and everything. Graphically, even if it’s a bit light for the Super NES, it’s still enjoyable. The concept is good, the physics are well handled, there are shots, and especially the brilliant idea of making it multiplayer. So honestly, with richer gameplay, better graphics and all, there’s real potential for a great game. Anyway, well done.

Thank you for your participation. The idea of using Mode 7 is very cool, but unfortunately the overall interest is extremely limited. Even graphically, it’s just Mode 7 with a rather basic grid that’s a bit hard on the eyes. The moral is nice, but still, it’s very difficult to give a consistent rating to this kind of project. Anyway, thank you.

Thank you for your participation. Unfortunately, there’s not much to praise here, aside from thanking you for having programmed something that actually runs on a Super NES. Obviously, it’s neither a game nor even a demo. There’s far too little information about what you’re supposed to do. It really feels more like just the very beginning of a game. But best of luck, and I hope to see more games from you with improvements in the future.

Thank you for your participation. But indeed, this is anything but a game. Still, congrats on implementing that music. I don’t know if you composed it yourself, but even if it’s a bit strange, it’s impressive that you managed to include it. As for the graphics — making a face like that, I don’t know, maybe it’s some kind of inside joke? I have no idea who that guy is. For a moment, I almost thought it was the start of a Beavis and Butthead game, but it doesn’t seem to be. So unfortunately, the rating ended up being quite harsh, but there you go. Anyway, congrats on including the music, and thanks for taking part.

Indeed, as you rightly pointed out, this isn’t actually a game. So unfortunately, it’s very hard for us to properly rate it. It’s just a technical demo. So apologies if our rating seemed a bit harsh — we evaluated it as if it were a full game, not just a technical demo. Anyway, thank you for taking part.

It’s a surprising game — we really didn’t expect that. Graphically, it’s somewhere between the NES and the SNES. There’s a nice screening effect, really. I like the house elements and the overall environment. The interactivity is fun. And indeed, once you understand the concept — that it’s meant as a little break — it’s genuinely enjoyable. Still, maybe we were hoping for a bit more. We would have liked to see more content. But other than that, it’s great. As for the music, it’s just incredible — so clear.

Hi guys sorry for the late reply : I will stream This 14 September (Sunday), but i dont know when !  Please subscribe to see ;) My channel : @hedgeetmanu

Hello everone,

My name is Hedge, and I’m honored to be one of the judges for this year’s SNES GameJam.
I also run a YouTube channel, and I would love to showcase your games in a live stream where I play through the entries together with my community.

The idea would be:

  • I download all the entries and play them live.

  • My community can also give their impressions and “vote,” alongside my own judging.

  • This way, your creations get a bit more exposure, and we can all celebrate the variety of projects together.

Before I go ahead, I just want to ask: would this bother anyone?
If any participant feels uncomfortable with their game being shown live, please let me know, and of course I’ll respect that.

Thanks a lot, and congratulations to everyone who submitted — it’s really exciting to see so many projects for the SNES!

Best regards,
Hedge
