  • I like where this game is going with the concept, but could be better with some more additional things added.
  • First of all, thank you for this game — I’m honestly impressed by the fact that there’s a title screen, a menu, even an options menu; all of that is really nice. Even at the end, there’s a little recap of what you were supposed to collect — you can feel this game has real potential. It’s very satisfying to shoot with the rifle; it actually reminded me a bit of Blackthorne, that satisfying feeling of firing a gun. (Not to be taken out of context, of course!) Unfortunately, the monsters don’t attack — even if they touch you, nothing happens; they’re just there to get blown up, which is a bit of a shame. But the character runs, he’s fairly well animated, and it gives off a bit of a Doom Troopers vibe on the Super Nintendo — slightly digitized. There’s only one level, sure, but it exists — and in this case it feels like an actual game, or at least on its way to becoming one. I think this game has real potential, though it’s definitely held back by the very, very, very empty environments. But aside from that, honestly, well done — it’s even quite well programmed.
  • Good sound effects, but the music loop is really too short... The main character is superb. Nice, but too bad you can't see the projectiles. And no collision with enemies. A good basis for a run n gun game on SNES.
  • Cool concept, nice main character. But it is quite unfinished, especially graphics, and only one level, which makes Dangerous Drake very short. If you polish that up and add a few more levels, this could become quite a popular SNES homebrew. I'd gladly play an extended version.

Very polished and complete delivery of your idea. I was surprised you didn't revise it further since you submited way ahead of the deadline unlike some of us!

Reading your comments that you lost interest once at the "content" phase is a shame. Adding some basic enemy AI, and maybe one other enemy variant would expand the fun a lot. But it is a complete experience, unlike my game, so who am I to comment! :D

Congrats on the first submission!
I found the sound effects and gameplay to be quite enjoyable, there's just not a lot of content here. After checking out your original Dangerous Drake demo, I was hoping for more level variety and more interaction with level objects.

Did you run out of ROM space or did you lose interest?
I believe you could turn this into something quite ambitious if you wanted to.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'll clarify here about the plans. Initially, I planned the game with the mechanics of shooting diagonally (like in Dangerous Dave 2), correspondingly balanced enemies. From the interactions, I planned for the game to have buttons (levers) that open doors or launch platforms. Yes, doors. Like in the same Dangerous Dave - transition to different rooms on the level. Rescuing hostages (not required for passing). And also the main mechanics: breaking boxes (either with a shot from a gun or with a downward blow in a jump), collecting coins (I haven't figured out what for, increasing experience?), finding keys and secrets.

There was still enough memory in the ROM for content for a demo of one level (presumably). But, most likely, I lost interest. When I get to the stage when I need to make content - for me it's stress :) I thought it would be easier to make content for a 16-bit system, but no (there are nuances here). Although I have done enough in the logic of the game that it would be a shame to "throw it away".

You should definitely continue this project I'd be very interested in playing it the way you've planned it.

The movement and shooting here was actually pretty satisfying, so off to a nice start. This could definitely be developed into something.

Nice first submission!
I can't find anybody to rescue or any diamonds though :D

It hasn't been implemented yet, but it's supposed

Will we receive an Update tomorrow :) ?

Unfortunately, I didn't finish the game to what I wanted, at least to a full-fledged demo.
