Hey there! Thanks for the comment. To produce income with towers you need to click on the larger tower to swap it from attack mode to mining mode, then it will produce coal for you!

Great presentation and the DOOM music was hilarious. It had a cohesive theme and was a pretty great project overall. It was hard to tell when I had to manually reroll and when I was out of ammo because I was mostly focused on combat
It would have been interesting to have the game auto roll for you but maybe if you're paying attention you could try to stop the roll on a number you want, almost like active reload in Gears of War. Super cool project! Anyway, if you have time in the next 4 minutes please check out and rate my game LOL
Great presentation and wonderful idea implementing the leaderboard as a way to get some replay-ability out of the game. I had some trouble being able to swap my dice number so I think I missed out on a lot of gameplay elements and even with that I still had fun trying multiple times to try to make the leaderboards which is a great sign. The art and music were great and overall an awesome project!
Combining dice and the classic matching game was genius. Adding the leaderboard was the icing on the cake, I'm competitive so I ended up playing like 5 times (I got on the leaderboards). You kept the scope small and polished what you had, very well done!
If you have time in the next 2 hours please check out and rate my game lol
Interesting game, I didn't fully understand what was happening and it seemed like I could just keep rolling where ever I wanted. I really really liked the dice indicator on the left, I think way more games need something like that.
Fun game, congrats on finishing the jam! If you have a couple mins please check out and rate my game!
Great concept of moving the dice up and down, that gives flexibility in the systems and allows for choices to be made rather than just using the strongest attack you can. The presentation was awesome, the music and art great.
It took me a little bit to find the attack button and sometimes I wished I didn't have to move a dice so far up for it to go up. I also don't really know how to deal with getting constantly cursed.
Very good game, if you have time in the next 20 minutes please check out and rate my game
Great visuals and music! The idea was super creative and has a lot of potential!
I ended up mostly spamming as many pieces as I could to give myself the best chance of survival. There we many different piece types to remember between the ones I could place and the enemies. It might have been useful to see a preview of the direction enemies/my pieces took. Either that or having similar visuals between like moving pieces so I could better make the right decision with a quick glance.
The rolling mechanic was a bit cumbersome to move my mouse to the top of the screen to try to make sure I click every time, it would have been nice to have that auto roll for me for one less thing to focus on. Then you could show a preview of the piece I have next on the board with its cooldown as well.
The angle of the board itself would mess with my spatial perception and it was sometimes hard to guess where my pieces would go.
Overall incredibly impressive, visually and mechanically. I appreciated the Neuromancer quotes when I lost. Good work!
I can't overstate how much I loved the style, assuming you keep moving forward on this project I'd say get the enemies implemented in the same 3D style as the dice, map, and cup.
I played through once and died to the serpent who was pretty tough. I think there needs to be some reward or tradeoff for winning a battle otherwise it's better to just avoid them at all costs. I also think it'd be cool to have more option combinations when progressing through the map (I only played once so I could have just not seen them!). I read about the bug and ended up skipping the yellow dice completely but it of course would have been more fun to be able to use it and have interesting effects.
In the game I made you can customize dice, it might be cool to implement something like that for the yellow dice, that could even be the rewards you get from beating enemies; the yellow dice effects or a currency to buy them in a special map spot.
Thanks for making the game, it was fun! Please check out and rate my game if you have a chance!
Great presentation, the controls are pretty hard to use. There is a lot to track when you're playing
- Dice seeds
- Actual dice rolls
- Your abilities
- Your positioning
- All the enemies
Movement, for instance, is an unconventional implementation so I have to actually think about moving rather than using my previous game knowledge to move around while instead focusing on the other new gameplay elements.
Overall very cool idea! Please check out and rate my game if you get a chance!
The presentation is awesome! I love the way it looks and would have loved more of the rotating world visuals from the start menu. I ended up going back and forth to make sure I could win battles so there wasn't much thought on my part and I still lost at the end. I appreciate seeing what rolls were coming up next!
Great game lots of fun, please check out and rate my game if you have time!
Fun game! I like the idea of having to cheat to get the gold. I didn't figure out the last puzzle, I assumed I needed to get the magnet there but didn't think to use the cards to build a bridge (I watched the trailer after playing). I do think that the collision stuff is a big obstacle for players. If you wanted to keep the rolling you could have still had the player "pick up" the items but visual they still roll around, just locked in front of the player.
Overall it was really fun! Please check out and rate my game if you have time
Hey there, I tried out your game! I actually liked the movement, I think the jumping would sometimes bug out and it wasn't always clear when I could jump more than once. I got Rick Rolled which was cool. As some of the other commenters have said it'd be interesting to choose your power directly instead of hitting your head multiple times to do it. I'm still choosing directly, it just takes longer.
Good project, check out my game if you have time!
Definitely some great feedback here! I agree with all of that, if I could restart the project I'd try to:
- Integrate dice customization directly into the game loop instead of making it optional. Ideally with a game this short you'd want to update your dice after every battle anyway. And specifically adding a tutorial enemy that teaches the player customizing to fight a specific enemy
- Add more polish and conveyance on the player character and attacks so you can tell who you are and who is winning the fight
- Get someone more specialized in UI art to do that work! lol
- We wanted an ability card system where you'd be able to choose a modifier before each battle but we didn't have time
Thank you for playing the game and providing feedback!
I'll say that I died at first and didn't really understand why at first. I was super glad that there was a checkpoint system and I could start the game back from right where I died. It has been a couple of days so maybe you have this but something that shows what my luck is at could be really useful! Like the Fire dice become the go to since you can roll multiple ones and deal more damage (I think)
You've legitimately got something here, please polish this up, refine the mechanics (something to reduce the randomness of dice a bit at least), and release this game on Steam. No joke if you want to collaborate hit me up, I'd love to work on this game.
The music reminds me of Earthbound and the graphics help sell that vibe which is a good one to go for considering the success of Undertale. The animations were nice, the systems were well thought out and implemented, and I don't think I saw one bug. I want to keep playing (did 2 rounds) but I have other games to rate.
This is the first time I've ever bookmarked a game jam game to come back to and play more later.
Some random ideas:
- Let me draft my own deck
- Add cards that permanently alter the energy so I can scale up as the battle goes on. Enemies out-scaled my damage too much
(I'm not sure naming an enemy "Brazilman" is cool though...)
Feel free to check out my game, we went the auto battler route and have a really simplified version of your game: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-jam-2022/rate/1620487
