Congrats on submitting!

Amazing for a jam game! So much seems well done, like the menu transitions and smooth tutorial.

I loved the facial expression on the tutorial ritual "boss"

Developer

Thank you!

Hey that was pretty cool! I actually found myself blasting around just because the weapon sounds were so good! One minor annoyance was not being able to see clearly where I was aiming. But didn't stop me enjoying the game.

Oh and nice tutorial btw!

Developer

Thank you!

Really enjoyed the terrain destruction. The controls felt super slick. Everything felt polished! I had fun playing your game, great work!

Developer

Thank you!

Enemy fire should also contribute to destructible terrain. Very well-polished project! Nice work!

Developer

Thank you! I've thought about it, but to don't create too much confusion I chose to make the player the only environment destroyer inside the game!

Nice job! Like many other people mentioned, the destructible terrain is very nice, but not being able to hold down the mouse is something that could be better. Other than that, making the destructible terrain be more useful would be nice, as would more maps, but I understand time constraints. Very good game.

Developer

Thank you! Using better the concept of destructible environments was my original plan, but I ended up with not so much time and I have dedicated the majority of the level design's time to the tutorial map!

I like the gameplay. It feels very satisfying to shoot the shamans. I feel like you should be able to hold the mouse down to spam shoot, and the walls should be easier to break. It would also be nice if you had nice GUI instead of text for stats, such as a health bar. Overall, I enjoyed playing all three levels!

Bonus for adding a leaderboard!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I totally agree with your suggestions!

Great entry! Holding the mouse to shoot would be nice, as would be a more meaningful use of the destructible terrain (which was impressive)!

Developer

Thanks! Yes, it would be a nice addition (at least the possibility to set it in the settings)!

A lot of work went into this and it shows! Congrats on the entry, had a fun time fighting for my life.

Thank you!

Whoa, the destructible piece was very impressive! I liked the music, sfx and the ritual animations!

I would change the progress bars a bit as they don't fit the theme (best would be texture ones with some pixel theme)

Overall great job!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! I agree with you about the progress bars (but I didn't have time for it, unfortunately)!

Nice work on the destructible terrain! The controls felt pretty good, too. The fire button seemed to register on both press and release of my mouse button, which is a little strange, though.

Overall, a fun little top-down shooter game. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you! I haven't noticed that bug, thanks to report it!

Fun game! I m not sure if I m the only one who had that problem but I can't hold my mouse to shoot? Or was it intended to be like that? Overall goodjob!

Developer

Thanks! It was intended, but at least I could have added in the settings the possibility to hold down the mouse to shoot.

Destructible terrain are fantastic thing! @Frousen sorry, I copied "Destructible terrain" from your post, but second time I wrote it by myself!

Developer

Thanks!

Really nicely done destructible terrain, and gameplay is overall pretty fun! The music is good as well. Nice to see a leaderboard as well!

Couple slight issues: the cursor was sometimes little bit difficult to see with both its size and color, at least on my 4K monitor (not flexing, just that the cursor doesn't scale bigger). There is also an issue with bullets hitting the wall prematurely, when the playable character's gun is too close to a wall.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I didn't know that the cursor doesn't scale with high-res monitors like the other parts of the game, good to know! And yes, about the issue with the bullets I have noticed it too.

Thank you!

Loved the rock sprite and how you integrated that in the game lol.

Had a great ton of fun!

It’s nice that you implemented remapping, leader boards and destructible environment!

Developer

Thanks!

Looks and plays great + destructable environment ( fun mechanic)

The controls on this game feel really nice and the art looks great. the levels are designed well although the last two levels could benefit from having a more even mix between wide open areas and more confined areas. Still really fun to play regardless.

also there seems too be a bug causing levels to end before you complete them

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback, I agree with you!

Thanks!

interesting entry, it was fun to spam-click through the levels! nice use of a leaderboard, too!

my only suggestion would be to add an option for fullscreen, and/or to capture the mouse cursor. it's not a huge thing, but i'm on a setup with two monitors, and it wasn't always clear where my mouse was at and i ended up clicking in the other screen a little. ha.

good one, congrats! :)

You're right, I haven't thought about those settings, they would have improved the experience!

Thank you!
