Here is my feedback from playing this game for the finals as well:

Overall a really enjoyable puzzle game. I liked how DORIS would aid you if you did awful in the puzzles, as I never did get that stealth puzzle at the beginning. I did not care for the 10 second timer to get past some puzzles, but it was a really minor quibble in the end.

Overall though this was a fun game to play, and I managed to get to the end in under an hour. Good job on making a game that got to the finals for the IGMC!

I was one of the official judges this year, and now that the results have been made public, and I'm free to do so, here is my score and thoughts on this title:

Overall score: 9.5

Great puzzle game that I quite enjoyed. I feel some of the puzzles could have been a little more challenging, such as the light squares one, but for what they were, they serviced the game and the story nicely. It was a fun little story, even if Flint never grew past four feet. The story was quite enjoyable as well, and I liked the characters.

Hey there WyldFire Games, I got your game for judging so here are some of my thoughts. I love your use of music and Rinober's art, it felt perfect for your sci-fi story. The cutscenes were well done and told the story without dragging on too long, which was great because I was ready to jump into the puzzles!

The puzzles themselves all showed the time you put into them. None of them felt too unfair, and I was really happy with myself when I'd figure one of them out. I'm really glad that you gave an option to skip puzzles if I was having too much trouble. I had to use that out to get past the turrets since I just couldn't get the timing right, and the timing of the offer was perfect because I was just reaching the moment where the fun challenge was turning into a chore.

Overall, great job making challenging puzzles without stressing out your players! Some of the puzzles may benefit from some extra tweaking to make them easier on players who have terrible reaction time, but that doesn't take away from the fun.

I am relatively new to RPGs. This was a very fun and challenging game! I loved the visuals, music score and levels of challenges it presented. I enjoyed the development of the characters as well as the humor throughout the play. As a beginner, there were levels that were EXTREMELY challenging but it added to the element of fun. I really enjoyed this and I look forward to seeing more!

Hey there WyldFire Games and Ben, thanks for submitting a project to the 2022 IGMC. I was asked to judge your game in round two of the IGMC 2022 game jam. Here's some feedback about your project.

Nice polish on the look of the splash and title screens.

I really like the titlesets used here.

Music and sound design seem to be on point. Everything fits.

Interesting that the game is timing you in different areas. For example it told me I was tardy while I was taking in the opening scene. Pretty cool.

The dialog feels very zoomer-bro. I'm not sure if that was a real term but if not, it is now.

I enjoyed the cutscenes, very cool use of animations and sound effects.

Changing the television is satisfying. :) (It's all the little things that add up ya know?)

Opening the door to the back room shows the wall, behind the door. I feel like you could just make this a dark shadow instead of a wall and it would look better imo.

The default settings on the plugin that moves the character makes it look like he's in a constant state of falling over while moving. Try reducing that to make it look more realistic.

I appreciate the fast track storytelling by eliminating the back tracking over maps.

I had quite a bit of difficulty with the "dodge the androids" puzzle, they moved too fast. Thanks for making an EZ mode for my slow brain. :)

When you get to the area before the factory it looks and sounds much like the Magitek Research Facility from FFVI. Really cool! Obviously it's all original, but you've managed to captured some nostalgia of a very fond memory of mine(and probably many other JRPG enthusiasts).

The turret room in the factory is impossibro.

The ending was very satisfying and you've managed to make an amazing entry. I was really impressed. Great job!

Overall, I had a really good time with this game! Even when I "got stuck" temporarily, or had to try areas multiple times, I still felt like I was getting better and making progress, rather than getting frustrated and wanting to quit like is often the case with this style of game.

I found the overall presentation of this game to be very fitting for the theme and story -- there was only one mapping thing that stood out to me (and this is VERY small / does not affect the gameplay whatsoever), but the carpets.

Since these are autotiles, they have the border around the edge, meaning this is all one solid item. Which is a very odd shape for a rug to be made in. With the border, it looks less weird to stick with multiple square / rectangle / round shapes next to each other, rather than the little worm-shaped.

Like I said, VERY minor thing that doesn't affect the overall game whatsoever, but every time I saw that, it caught my eye in not-a-good-way, so I wanted to mention it. The game itself is rather well-done and quite a fun play. Good luck in IGMC! :)

First impressions of the game is great. I've made it to the Warehouse and I'm enjoying my time so far. The music and custom movies really draw me into the world. Great job on all the custom art!

A really well done game! The story struck me a lot especially because I think it takes the jam theme in a different way than other entries. I also liked the aesthetics, everything is very cohesive!

I can see you have put so much care on the project, it's very polished. You did a really good job! :)

Thank you very much for your review!! I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Fun project Kendall and company :) The point where you're just a kid... walking around with these body parts...

Nothing to look at here folks just keeps moving!

Appealing art style, a lot of custom tiles and assets. Great music selection.  Emotional story that drives the quests in a strong way.

Some inconsistencies in tone and characterization. Laser dodging was hard ;)

Polished product - very engaging!

I’m glad you liked it! I enjoyed watching your stream but unfortunately I was at work and got clients so I had to stop. When will the VOD be up so I can catch the ending?

The VOD is published now :)

A very well done entry with enjoyable puzzles (and then the Factory happens :P). The story was nice, everything matched really well. I was happy there was an option to hack the turrets in the Factory, but I was too stubborn to actuallay accept it. I definitely reloaded a few times (a shame there wasn't a Loag Game option in the main menu), so I didn't have to go through all of that again. (For example, I saved right after I passed the timed turrets, since that was the moment I kept dying and I also saved right in front of the second blue switch in the next room, since I kept dying trying to get back.)

This was a wonderful entry. Looking forward to playing your other one.

Nice straight forward puzzles with a tragic story with a warm happy ending. The warehouse one was definitely more challenging (good to see you gave the option to hack after a number of deaths).

Nice work!

Great entry, really enjoyed this one. I recorded some first impressions if you want further review: https://youtu.be/9B0oTw-x41Y?t=1013

Hey thanks so much! I enjoyed watching you play it too. Thanks for recording your thoughts so far. I hope you do get a chance to finish it. I’m glad you enjoyed it. :D

Just played through Framework:

First impressions: That title screen is incredible! It looks so polished and I literally just stared at it for awhile. I'm also curious as to how you got your logo to do that. You should feel proud.

I told myself when deciding to play IGMC entried that 5 star reviews would have to really earn it. Your music is incredibly fitting, custom art matches the tileset, and overall story beats were awesome. But some puzzle elements I felt I had seen before. But then I got to the lazer level and saw that watercolor drawing at the end. And damn it 5/5 stars. This was the first entry besides my own that I got to play and it was phenomenal. You should feel very proud.

Thank you so very much! I actually just got finished playing yours and I am about to write a review. I am so glad you enjoyed it. :D

I really wanted to be a more stringent judge and give good feedback, but this was very professionally done. I guess my only feedback is very minor Grammer fixes and I did think professor Nicole could have made a joke before forgiving him completely. Otherwise I really enjoyed it. I love finding tilesets for rpg maker and this is one I've wanted to use for awhile and it was nice seeing character art that fit it so well!

sorry to double reply but I was looking through your other games... did you by any chance submit celestial for an rpg maker jam before?? I swear I've seen it before.

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

yes I did! I have been doing IGMC since 2015.

Hi there! Play through the game fully, took me about a half hour to beat and I really liked

-Very enjoyable story, also like the futuristic feel to the game

-I like how the dialogue with the interactables changed as the story progressed

-Puzzles weren't too hard or too easy

-I think hitboxes needs some adjustments, for both line of sights and lasers. Or just how much cover is given during these sections. I almost got the first one, but just ended up skipping it since it was hard to read the patterns. As for the laser puzzle, it was also pretty difficult, which is to be expected since it's the final one, but that one actually gave me less trouble than the stealth one haha

In summary, I had a ton of fun playing through this short and sweet game, and everyone who worked on it did an awesome job :)

It's cute, simple, does what it sets out to do. The puzzles weren't too hard, and the one bullet hell part I had problems with gave me the option to wimp out so I could still keep up with the story.

I felt a little thrown into the mix there at the start, but got my bearings pretty quick, though maybe more into would be nice to kinda set things up more. While i didn't care for the starfield surrounding the mapped areas, the Art over all was great and very stylized, I love seeing an artists talents come to life like this. The puzzles were not TOO hard, but they were right there at the edge to keep me on my toes, and I think over all a nice proof of concept game here. Id like to see it fleshed out a little more. Great Job. :)

Thank you for your review! I wanted to flesh out the relationships a little more but due to the time constraints, I didn’t want to make the player wait too long in the early cutscenes before actually getting to the game so I only allotted 5-10 minutes of story setup for that purpose.

I hear ya there!! Overall you did well! I enjoyed myself without resorting to cussing out the PC like I do in some puzzle games 🤣🤣🤣
