Wow, very graphically polished! I also enjoyed playing something without numbered die haha! My only suggestion would be to make the bonus effects way stronger, as there are a lot of enemies and you don't have that many dice. Usually I felt the need to use them all for damage. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! The bonus effects do last pretty long if you don't miss and get a debuff, so I felt that the dmg buff is usually worth it, but we will have to fix the problem of having too few dice, of course if you only have one die, it's not that useful to use it for a buff. Thanks for playing!

This game is awesome, the look and the mechanics are really fun, really liked the animation of your enemies, congrats on a great job!

Developer

Thanks a lot!

Nice mechanic with great presentation :)

I did find that, once you started messing up to the point of being stuck with once dice, that there was pretty much no way to recover without dying. But there were enough spawn points to make that feel fair still.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah we will have to adjust that.

The presentation is amazing! I love the artstyle and the gameplay is also fun. Great work!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Quite fun, dig the art style, too bad there were no sound effects.

Some enemy placements were a bit annoying, sometimes I'd go into a room, and a goblin would immediately take a chunk of my health.

I'm glad you implemented checkpoints, but I wish I'd respawned with more dice rather than just one, it makes it harder to challenge a difficult room.

Also, the powerups could be more obvious and more interesting. It is difficult to look to the side when there is a lot of action going on. If you ever decide to expand upon the concept, more interesting abilities could be added, rather than just stat modifiers.

Overall, great job on your game!

In the jam build, you just keep the dice you had when you respawn, in later versions, your dice will be filled up each time you respawn, we unfortunately didn't think of that in time. We planned to implement way more dice, and also sound effects that we had already made, but we didn't have time for that, thank you for your feedback!

Really liked the double use of dice to attack and for effects! Very nice gameplay and presentation as well. If I had to suggest something, it might just be a greater selection of enemy types, although you already have a great lineup. The volume was also a little low.

Well done!

Thanks for the feedback!

Loved the use of dice for stats and the weapon variability while keeping the core game simple. Great job!

Thanks!

i really like the mechanic of missing a shot to roll for a random effect, super creative! the enemies were well designed, but i think the main character could benefit from some more contrast between him and the background (they are both green). great art, great concept, great game! awesome job!

Thanks for the feedback!

This game looks great and is challenging and fun.  Loved the 'choosing between rolling for effects and shooting enemies' mechanic.   I think my only (minor) criticism is that the walls sometimes block your shots if you're standing up against them.

Developer

Yeah that's a problem we're aware of. Thanks for the feedback!

The mechanic where you have to choose between dealing damage OR gaining the random effect makes this game stand out just a bit more than a lot of similar games made in this jam.  The art is phenomenal as well.  Great work <3

Developer

Glad to hear that, thank you!

The best looking game I have seen so far and the concept is interesting. Good job!

Developer

Thank you and thanks for playing!

the pixel art and animations look so good, I loved it. and I liked the idea that you have to throw the dice to get power up or shot the enemy. Strategy and luck combined.

Submitted(+1)

This was great - I really like the pixel art for this, the player character looks wonderful, and the tileset evokes ancient ruins in a state of gradual decay - really atmospheric. Also love the trees which convey a lot of detail with a minimal palette and simple shapes :)

Gameplay is fast-paced and fun, especially once a speed upgrade was active! The enemies were nicely varied, with attack patterns that encouraged being aware of your positioning and taking care not to get boxed in by groups, which worked really well. I did find that the positioning of the bow could be problematic, as dice would frequently behave in unexpected ways when the bow was shot whilst near to a wall, but once I learned to work around this I still had a great time!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for this feedback, glad you enjoyed our game! We are aware of the issue of shooting when near walls, we will have to fix that, and changing the level design to have less narrow corridors might also help.

The art and music are really awesome! There is a good level of polish with the dice visual effects and camera movement. 3/4 of my dice were bouncing off walls rather than hitting enemies. My strategy was to run from the goblins while shooting at them and to use walls as cover against the skeletons.

Good work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

The art is crazy good! The hitboxes were sometimes a little weird especially when shooting with your back to the wall, but nice idea and execution!

Developer

Thanks!

Cool concept! Its a little too difficult, but fun anyways. I didn't roll the dice that often unless I missed, if I did roll them intentionally it felt like I would because I wasn't attacking any enemies. With a little balancing I think this would be great!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We are going to adjust the difficulty.

Developer

Yeah, unfortunately we did,n't have time to implement more dice, our plan was, that there are some dice that you rather want to roll, and some that you rather wanna use as ammunition, but that they don't necessarily fly in a perfectly straight line, so that you don't necessarily get the result you hoped for and that you have to be extra careful. Thank you for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

This was so well done! The graphics were great, and the music was a bop, just wish there were more sfx. I think that the dice shooting's a little off, there were some times when my mouse was somewhere, and it just shot somewhere else, which got a little annoying at times. Other than that, I think the implementation of the random rolls were really clear--no explanation needed, which was refreshing. Overall great job  ♪(^∇^*)

Developer

Thank you! The dice have a random spread so they will differ from the angle you aimed at. We unfortunately didn't have time to implement sound effects.

The game looks amazing and it plays quite well I enjoyed the challenge.

Developer

Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed it!

Hey, good job. It was kinda tough for me so I wasn’t able to finish it xD. But it’s a hardcore baby. Thx for the experience

Developer

Np thank you for the feedback and the kind word! Appreciated!

This game has probably been the one that feels the best I've played this jam. My only complaint is that it seems too easy to die, I think some crowd control dice would have been great. Amazing job, I would like to play something like this if development continues.

Developer

It will to some extend! Thanks for the feedback, I know we made it a little bit too hard, but thank you so much!
