Really great game! Reminded me a lot of Enter the Gungeon, and the art is quite nice. A couple pieces of feedback I have are that the die rolling animation when you upgrade a stat is a little too slow, especially for the amount it's played throughout the game, and that I somehow got stuck and couldn't move when exiting the first shop in the game. Overall, this is very cool, nice work :)

Wonderful pixel art and engaging  rouge-like gameplay. More kinds of enemies and effects to encounter would have been cool but you did such an awesome job with what is present!

:O I'm surprised this amount of polish can exist in a jam everything is so good!

so well done, it's a Gem in a Jam love it, and best of luck!

YES! Finally found something to break me out of the monotony of the sameness!!

Oh lord... thank you! This was solid entry, even if the roll of the dice was more of a supporting mechanic.

You've got my highest praises.

Duuuude !! That's some quality Jam game over there !

Everything is on point ! The art, the animation, the gameplay, the audio, the use of the theme, even the shady vendor.

The only complain I could give is the game is short (which is a compliment because I wanted to play way more of it) And maybe autoshoot if you maintain you mouse clicked.

That's definetly a 5 stars all the way from my part.

Few suggestions If you decide to iterate on that game (and you should) :

- A dodge roll (enter the gungeon style)

- A final boss fight

- More enemies, more items, more effects, more levels, more everything !

Definetly one of my favorite from this jam. Amazing job !

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the game! The roll was planned, but was cut last second. As for the enemies, I wanted to add more varieties to the enemies, but the AI kept bugging out and wouldn't allow for it.

Thanks for playing!

Art is great, and overall decently fun.

But eventually it drags on, all rooms are just about killing enemies without anything new. Each time the dice rolls nothing new really gets added, except some unseen numbers.

Still, great job on your game!

Developer(+1)

I do wish we could've added more enemy variety for the rooms to make them interesting, but we were running short on time so we could only add 2 enemy types.

Thanks for playing!

Really well done, fun game! I got strong Enter the Gungeon vibes from the game with enough unique ideas to differentiate itself. Great job!

This game is like a mixture of Enter the Gungeon + Synthwave/Vaporwave art and music. Just awesome.

Time To Die is a very fun bullet hell and I'm glad I found it. I love bullet hells. I would've liked a faster speed on the player so it can keep up with the fast paced nature of bullet hells, because it feels a little bit too slow by default. I will suggest also too reduce the time between every card selection scene, it felt dragging after a few card selections. Other than that this game is perfect and I just wanted more levels, abbilities and more content :D I hope you keep working on this game. Congrats on your submission Sydmen !

I'm really glad you enjoyed the game! Thanks for all the feedback, I'll take it into consideration if I ever add onto this project.

Yayyy I won :D

Very fun game, however very buggy. So sad that I couldnt finish my playthrough bc I got stuck in vendor room

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! Sorry about that bug, snuck in last second so I couldn't fix it.

Awesome game. It was a fun concept with amazing art. The only thing I would add is item descriptions.

Very very polished game. Impressive for a 48h jam!

Are all the door cards negatives?

One thing I'd like to see is the properties of the items you can buy, it is a bit mysterious what they actually do.

Developer

Glad you had fun! The most common numbers in the beginning of the game are negatives to encourage cheating. As for the shop, we sadly couldn't add it in time, but the description does appear in your hotbar once you buy it.

Awesome game! I like how you paid attention to every single little detail in the game, like health bar and animation for throwing dice. Everything is made to be engaging and everything fits nicely together.

More variety with weapons, environment and enemies would be nice but for a jam games this is great!

Probably one of the most well rounded games that I played so far. Well done!

Great game with nice sound art. Loved playing!

Damn, presentation is top tier! Brilliant work. The representation of health by using "torn" poker cards was very creative. Good choice of music too.

Controls were pretty good but the movement feels a little off for some reason. Think its because the character feels a little sluggish for a fast-paced action game.

Consider making the 3 card choices known to the player. I feel that if I knew the options and I had to make a choice between the three, having some control over how my run goes, it'll be more fun! Then the randomisation can be just at the stat boost amount.

Amazing work overall!

Oh and great game name! ;)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the game! I appreciate the feedback. Great minds think alike for the name.

Needed some more quality of life changes when hitting, going to the door or even some different rooms to explore; needed some visual clarity about some features.

There was a bug where I was stuck when exiting one of the shops at the beginning of the game, so I had to restart it again.

Overall good graphics and great sounds and music!

I am so unlucky, always got enemy health cards lol. Great game overall!

The gameplay is the exact opposite of my game's gameplay xDD

The game's visuals are really amazing, and I absolutely love the art style and the animations. The upgrades are always against my odds for some reason. I finished the game with the enemies' health at +6 and damage at +3, and mine at 0s. I love that it's very similar to Enter the gungeon. It's one of my favourite games. I feel like if you added enemy hit feedback it would look much nicer and more responsive. But great work overall.

Art and animations are amazing. Small bug: got stuck in the geometry of the trap door couldn't move only switch between the store and normal area with E. Charming use of the theme. Would love to see this fleshed out into a full game.  Felt super polished. Fantastic job.

Got the same bug here
