Nice, creepy atmosphere and good music, the gramophones are a nice touch. That first door was really scary!

Jumping near an object (i.e. the bench in the mall court) causes you to get stuck in mid-air. You might solve this using physic materials - in this case making vertical objects slippery so you can just fall down instead of getting stuck.

Thank you, I will take your comments into account.

I really liked the vibe of the game, you nailed the tense atmosphere. The music going slower each level was a very nice touch.

Developer

Thank you!

very creepy. nice atmosphere. but i didnt understand why the door kills me

Developer

Sspirits coming through the door kill the character. I think like this. Thanks for playing!

Good thing tomorrow's laundry day.

All joke's aside, this was a brilliant game, and was executed masterfully. I had chills the whole time and my lizard brain was screaming almost as loudly as dear Karen.

Thanks for playing!

Ok. Fine. In a game jam with death as a theme, this was the first horror game that I played. And well.... I really got scared. The loops, the scenery with strange walls and empty rooms, without some logic, only a gramophone and the door with a predictable and expected end. All the set made me up tense and scared. Really good job. But just like most horror movies for me, the monster revelation is less scary than tho whole story so far.

Really good game, and good fit to the theme! Congrats!!

Developer

Yeah. You are right. Thanks for playing!

For me, the game was interesting but not scary. It had a good supernatural vibe and atmosphere to it. I would recommend some vfx and sfx for player immersion like heart beating sfx or player's vision getting blurrier to have a sense of urgency when the monster appear like in amnesia and most horror games. But overall great job.

Oh. I'm interested in these ideas, thank you!

The atmosphere of the game was nice. It gave me a creepy feeling. It reminded me of the craze with the jump scare video's of when people would play a game and then the screaming face would pop out at them. You nailed that vibe. I think more environmental story telling could have been done, with notes and voice overs, giving a depiction of what went down and what the victims were feeling. Good game jam entry.

I feel like this game has a good core, but could be explored much more. I liked the black and white level, but afterwards it could have been more tense. Also I wasn't really sure what I was doing or what to expect.

Developer

I will consider your suggestions. Thanks

Awesome game!

Levels are quite great, especially third, where everything is black and white, and it really made me think that somewhere is hiding the danger, and any second i could be scared to death! Loved the music, especially 3d effect (volume fading down at the distance), really loved it, made game a lot immersive!

But, mall level dissapointed me, monster wasn't very scary, so i just went to her and wanted to get good screamer, but it didn't.

You should really add some depth to mall level, maybe something like in previous levels, where everything became darker and darker, i loved that effect!

Also, character controller stucks at any wall, as i know, it's easy to fix, if you just change friction on physic material to less, it will help i think.

But, overall, great horror game, made me scared of everything that could come to me, and you made it good! Would love to see your other games, really interested in your creations!

First of all, thank you very much for your detailed comment. Your suggestions will be considered for the next games.

Actually, I had a very different monster dream in my head. But I couldn't find a teammate to model and animate my dream monster. If I could put that monster, the game would be extremely scary. But I had to find a free monster model.

I will solve the friction problem thanks to you. I didn't know how to solve it.

I have more games in mind. I hope to do them in the future. I will share it on my Itch.io account. Thanks for playing the game.

Hi!

Yea, i understand, modeling something like a monster is pretty hard, and for 10 day period it's especially problematic. But at least model that you have put in game was looking not out of place, i can say it's very fitting model!

Good luck with development, and surely will follow your new projects!

Short and sweet kind of game. The best of all is the ambience :D

It reminded me a lot of the nightmare levels from Max Payne, so great job ^^

Developer(+1)

Yeah thank you. A few hours ago i was playing max payne. :)

The level design managed to make me feel more and more tense in each level. Perhaps the outside area could have used some kind of wind sound, something to make it creepier. It's a very nice use of different environments and effects like black and white, well done.

Thank you!

Great work on making players feel different throughout the levels and musics. Definitely sets the mood :)

Loved the backrooms atmosphere of the game, especially on each iteration of each death

Submitted

Love backrooms and PT, and it feels like an incorporation of both. Nice use of sound. I think it would be cool if the picture would have changed after iteration.  Great ending!

Nice job in level building! Scary mood, and nice animations! And great sound design. Would have loved a little touch of gameplay, to exploit the jump and crouch you put in it

Nice!

Great use of the theme. Enjoyed the sound design a lot. Kinda reminded me of Superliminal a bit :)

The end got me. Huge fan of the backrooms, so I had to look at your game :D
