I had the weirdest situation with this game, as it would only start in 640x480 resolution :D. Fortunately, I could download the source code and play the game from the editor.
Some random thoughs:
All in all, really good job with this game!
Whoa, that's an odd issue there, haha. It does launch in windowed widescreen, but that's obviously larger than 640x480. :P
Thanks for all the great feedback! Yeah, the antagonist sometimes has a habit of hanging out in one area for too long. AI gonna AI. lol
The reaper is quite difficult to escape. But man is that riveting! I enjoyed it immensely. If this used all quality assets and wasn't restricted by free stuff. It would be really awesome. Really great job. I am glad I got to play your game
I'm glad you enjoyed! Yeah, focused mainly on the gameplay, so couldn't spend much time on assets and graphics. Realizing that I forgot to mention that Shift is a sprint key... Guess there's gotta be one thing that I'd want to add after the deadline, right? :P
I want to figure out the mysteries but I keep dying. They come out of no where and I have no chance to hide. :( Obviously an intriguing story though since I keep going back for more punishment.
I believe in you! If you can't make it to a closet to hide, try breaking line of sight. The middle room is also always safe. Oh, and I realize I forgot to mention that the Shift key lets you sprint, so do that if you're not already. :)
Spooky, atmospheric, and ambitious. Very impressive that you got all these mechanics in such a short amount of time. Nicely done.
Thank you! Yeah, knew at the start of the jam that I was going to go all-in on gameplay and hope it carried everything else. It helped that I had built an interaction system and doors before, so was able to make those fairly quickly. Did have to leave out some features, but that's just normal deadline things. :)
Really good game, good concept and kinda scary too ;0)
Thank you!
The game is amazing , great job
You're too kind. Thank you! :D
Good job! The atmosphere is suitably spooky, and the SFX does a great job of keeping you on your toes.
I was definitely interested in what happened to the family, and it suits the theme quite well.
Yay, thank you! Yeah, I was pretty happy with my idea for the theme. Kinda making me want to jump into another jam again soon, though... might be addicted. :P
Very nice looking game and pretty freaky when you're getting chased! Great atmosphere.
Thanks! :D
Very nice game. I can see what you were going for and the effort behind it. In particular I love the mood you set straight away. The intro text added to the atmosphere and exploring felt tense with the darkness and minimalism. Dying immediately when the enemy touches you can get a little frustrating, especially if you've made progress but I can get over it with the nice horror fps you made.
Thank you! Yeah, if I get a chance to add to this, a difficulty option that doesn't have instant death is probably the first thing, haha. Glad you enjoyed :)
Very Interesting game, Good job, i like it.
Thanks! :D
Very nice game. There is a lot of tension I'm afraid to play this game. Wonderful!
Yay, thank you!
Very moody and spooky. Some nice transitions in the menus. A bit frustrating losing all progress when the enemy catches you - seems very hard to avoid them. Game download is also a bit of a whopper because of the included source. Maybe split the source and binaries apart to lower barrier of entry. Nice work.
Oh, good point! Splitting up the downloads so there's an executable only option. :) And thanks for the feedback! It gets easier to avoid the enemy once you've successfully done it a couple times, but getting there can be a bit painful, haha.
Well made, nice game :)
Thank you!
