Yeah. It's a particle system. I threw it together as a prototype and it just kinda worked.

Thanks. Glad you like it. Life begins at 39 for me

Wow. Just wow. Amazing level design. Amazing sound. Amazing gameplay. I was enthralled the whole way through. I have a few VERY minor pointers in an otherwise perfect game. The round polygon like walls/asteroids felt a little out of place with regards to everything else. You can still shoot after you die before you respawn. I would love to see a bit more of the story incorporate the theme (for instance  when you die but you end up in a different but somehow the same universe respawned into a new level, why? Is there some kind of quantum tear? A black hole? I don't care, make something up, it's so well done I'll believe it fits the narrative if you told me it was a magical toad you ate before flight) I didn't try the modern controls but I didn't mind the tank controls. I'm oldschool like that. I like my ships to fly the direction the ship is and I like my FPS controls inverted. The turret took a bit of getting used to but ended up being an excellent addition once I got used to it. My computers framerate dropped during the final boss fight due to I assume the 5000 minerals and asteroids flying around. And I would have liked a slightly more challenging final boss. But again, these are all nit picky points because there are no big things to point out. Executed flawlessly. Would pay money for this. And I want a sequel.

Does something happen if you defeat Odysseues? With great difficulty can get him down to about half health. Thoroughly enjoyed. Reminds me of the old Star Wars NES and SNES games that were so well done but SOOOO hard.

I want to figure out the mysteries but I keep dying. They come out of no where and I have no chance to hide. :( Obviously an intriguing story though since I keep going back for more punishment.

Nice. Almost gave up at around 30 thinking it was just an infinite loop before I ran across some small dragons. Maybe break up those first 30 baddies a bit.

Yeah. The other levels I had planned are more involved and I am starting to run into problems the way I have my functions interacting. Can probably still do it but trying to think of a way that might be better. Appreciate the advice.

Thank you for playing. I appreciate the feedback

Thanks.  I'm toying with the idea of adding a boost swim to the amoeba or just making him faster in general. The vegetation colliders should all be pretty good except a couple in chapter 1 I had to mess with because I didn't have time to implement the bubble/plant combo in a more seamless way. I originally had 3 full chapters planned with multiple transfers each and new critters but I was a bit ambitious and ended up with half a chapter and a prologue. Will definitely expand out after the jam just considering whether to do it in the current iteration or go back to square one and rewrite the code.

Where's the game? I'm kinda intrigued

Great concept. And visuals are seamless. I love how even the game page is fully on theme.

Fantastic. Well done. My only suggestion would be background music that is a little less repetitive.

I don't think I get it. Maybe if you had a brief description on your page. So far I've figured out you want to dodge the balls and wasd are the controls but maybe there's more?

I managed to get past the tutorial by smashing the space bar a LOT. 1st level the wall jump seems a little easier? I would turn up the drag on your player rigidbody and maybe slow down how fast you move. It feels like I'm jetting around space. Cannot get past the second white triangle in the first level. I think if you made some minor tweaks it'll be great.

I'm finding on  a lot of submissions the box on the page is just a tad too small to be able to hit the fullscreen button and when you hit the html "fullscreen" button you just get the same thing but with a black letterbox, which in your case cut off about half the UI on the left. Fortunately I could just make out 1 or 2 pixels of the Unity blue fullscreen logo that I could click and it worked fine. Not sure if just my browser or not but it is only happening on some games and not others.

As far as your game. Great concept. I'd like to see some sort of progression though. Maybe you can create a song for each continent and then when you're done all the continents come together for the final ensemble?

I think you should keep developing after the voting is done, looking forward to seeing more.

Thank you

Thank you. This is my first jam and my first 2d game in unity.

Thanks. I'm most proud of the graphics given that I cannot draw very well.

Thank you. I was always going to go for minimalist but when I was sketching out my ideas in a notebook that's when I discovered that my hand drawn sketches kind of fit

Thank you.

Than you

The prologue is like a training level. I may have been less than direct with those instructions. The chapter 1 is really quite buggy. You can get to the end but avoid the buggy frog (no pun intended). And the fish is a bit buggy too. A tip is that the amoeba can be eaten when you are a crayfish to get more essence. That is in no way obvious. There should be some kind of visual clue but again just ran out of time. Glad to hear you still liked it though

Thank you. Yeah I have found a bunch of bugs in the second level. I really had to cut that level and testing short

Good execution. The robots seem to have very good aim.

Loved it. Was actually laughing in hysterics

Thanks

Great concept and puzzles well thought out. Can't get past the moving spikes though.

Yeah, that's one of the things I just ran out of time on. The essence should be inside the crawfish. Ended up spending too much time on breaking all my code and having to re-write it so I ended up having to give up on some of the polish.

I got a little scared there when I saw what your game was about cause it sound awfully similar to mine. But I think you'll find they are executed differently. I also start as a single celled organism and work up to a fish.

Neat. I actually am developing a 2d platformer along the same kind of idea. Hopefully I'll have it uploaded on time for the jam.
