I love gamejams for games like this.

You tried something different and interesting, and you've seen what works and doesn't about this unique mechanic. Very well done.

I would recommend exporting to HTML for these jams, though. (Although Godot HTML audio is bugged and needs a work-around.)

Developer

thank you!

I tried exporting to html, but it wouldn't play once on itch. Think it was Gles3 issue

Wow! This is definitely a new way of playing a puzzle platformer in a way that makes my brain all confused trying to remember when I need to press space versus not which feels like it goes against everything we've learned about how to play these types of games. Very unique for sure.

Developer

Haha, thank you!

Awesome 1-bit pixel art and some incredible level design and puzzles in this nice jam package. I thought I was hot stuff solving what I thought was the final level ... and then the real final level came and I had to throw in the towel. So tough, but it is fair and well designed.

The mechanics of the movement are unlike any other game I can think of playing, but once I started to get a hold of them, it felt really good to master bouncing around.

The way you used the requirement to drive the gameplay was very unique and one of the coolest takes I've seen in the jam. Great job. An excellent submission.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!
The final level is quite tough indeed, mainly because you need micromovements in a game where you can't do micromovements,
It's very easy to make hard levels without knowing they are as hard.

I'm really happy you liked the game :D

Cool game ! Really enjoyed the gameplay !

Little feedback : I got stuck on last level because i pushed a box against a wall & I wasnt able to pull it back.

appart from that a pretty solid little game ! Good job :)

Developer

I was planning to mechanic to drag the boxes. But there was not enough time :(

Thank you so much!

This game was really nice. Loved the 1-bit art style and there were some very cool puzzles.  I will have to agree with a lot of others that the controls are a bit off putting.  They are not necessarily bad but very counterintuitive to people that have played these sorts of games in the past.  I think if you were set on keeping the controls as is it might be smart to add a couple of super easy levels at the very beginning that introduce the controls one at time before you start the real puzzling and precision controls.  But those complaints aside, this was a neat little game and I enjoyed my time with it.

Developer

I agree, all this feedback from everyone really gives a way to see how it's a different experience for everyone.
And since it's my game, I am better at it than everyone else and can easily make too hard levels without noticing they're too hard.

Thank you for playing and feedback!

The artstyle is great! I'm always impressed with 2 color palette, you did a great job with it. Gameplay looks great, love the challenge of it. Pretty addictive

Developer

Thank you!
There is alot I wanted to do with so little time. And it's amazing how much people seem to like it!

Cool game. I like the minimal graphics. The controls feel a bit unpredictable so the game requires a littel time to "relearn" what I would expect. I enjoyed it and played a good while. Nice work

Developer

Thank you for your time!
The controls are a little different than normal yes :)

cool game idea all though the controls are a little weird

Developer(+1)

Thank you!
Wierd, but intriguing!

it could be just me idk i didnt really see too many others complain about the controls in the comments so

Developer

You might have mistunderstood my wierd word.
The controls are a bit wierd yes :)

I'm just gonna be blunt, I really don't like the way it controls. Trying to move in small spaces is so frustrating that it just ain't worth it to me. Though, I will admit, it's still a pretty cool idea. It's an interesting take on the theme. I just don't personally jive with it. The music is pretty nice and fitting and the 1 bit art is done really well.

Developer

Thank you for your honesty, yeah I didn't really have time to polish the controls as much as I wanted,

Thank you!

Nice, interesting controls for a plateform, definitly makes it different to your standard platformers.
Was cool, refreshing take on platformers.

Developer

thank you :)

Love the unique control scheme. The clever use of it was really impressive. Your art style was also really crisp and clear. I could tell what everything does just by looking at it. The use of the limited pallet, gave the game a nice look. Only issue I had was with last level where at certain angles bouncing on the boxes could launch them through geometry. This soft locked me once, but other than that really great game. Only improvement I can think of is a crunchy jump sound, but just using animation it gives a great feeling.

Developer

You could launch the boxes through the level?

That's certanly a bug.

Thank you for your playing my game!

I really like the simple 1bit art.  That mechanic is great and makes for a great rage game!  My brain got so frustrated with my fingers lol.  Nice job!

Developer

Thank you, Wasn't meant to be a rage game, but I can see where it's coming from

I love the level designs here, they're really clever, and the graphics in general are great use of a very limited color set. Animations are great too. I think a few of the levels had some spots that were a little too tight for the autojump mechanic and it just kept flinging me around (not sure if that's on purpose), but I liked them a lot other than that. I enjoyed the music loop and thought it fit perfectly. A few more sound effects and audio queues might be helpful as well. Lastly, maybe this is a personal preference, but I think a "click to acknowledge/continue" on the tutorial would be great instead of it automatically advancing based on time. I think I missed a few instructions because I am a slow reader :) but a lot of game jam games (including mine) don't even have one, so still great job. Overall, I really liked this a lot!

Developer

Thank you for this!
I noticed some tight jumping spots too a little too late.
And the dialouge was kinda rushed, but next time I will see if a press to continue will be better!

Really cool mechanic,  playing this game was fun. Really like the minimalistic art style, it felt really polished and the leveldesign was great but a bit too hard for me. All in all great game and good work!

Thank you for playing!

Really cool mechanic!!!

than you :]

You have a new and exciting take on traditional puzzle platformers here. It took a little for me to get used to it, but I think the idea is good. The execution could be a little tighter though. I found myself wishing I could adjust my trajectory mid-jump, but since I couldn't do that I focused on falling at the right moments. It was still pretty difficult.

The graphics are simple and easy to understand though, and the bits of dialogue, instructions, and tips helped to keep me focused. The music fit the aesthetic perfectly as well.

Overall, a bit difficult, but not bad!

Developer

thank you for your time and words!

I can agree that the execution could be tighter, but alot of time got into being able to walljump.

Really cool mechanic! Although, it is very frustrating to figure out. Would have liked a bit of a kinder difficulty curve.

Developer

I hoped the dialouge would be enough to teach the machanics.
But I will take this into considiration on my next games. Thank you!
