These must be the most charming underwater puzzle platform creatures I have ever encountered! Really great how they interact with each other to solve the puzzles, I had a lot of fun playing this one, amazing job!

What a brilliant game! Characters and music are adorable, and the puzzles are interesting and challenging.

The cannons should be solid objects- I kept trying to jump onto the cannon in level three before realizing that it was just in the background. Being able to walk through them from behind and get shot is kinda strange as well.

I particularly liked level four, which was fun to figure out and introduced several mechanics with zero words. Well done!

I like that detaching causes Olly to jump, and I was super happy when I found out the mechanic is used in puzzle six (I think? The level with the tiny door for Timmy right at the start. That door's hitbox also sticks out from the wall and can be climbed on to make the jump btw)

I definitely would like a more noticeable indicator of which character you have active- the cutest and easiest would be to go Snakebird's route and have the inactive critter close its eye(s).

All in all this is a fun, original game which strongly adheres to the theme. Full marks!

that's a really neat idea. have seen similar stuff in the jam but yours has a lot of neat mechanics

Don't underestimate the puzzles!

I warned you! The puzzles in this game may not look intimidating, however, they're actually quite challenging and require a little bit of patience. Never rush the levels or you will regret (lol). It's a nice concept with a nice art style. I love the voice acting used for the game lmao. I would suggest having a more noticeable indicator rather than an auto-centered camera upon switching between characters. I often failed to reach a platform due to I moved the wrong character. The TAB keys could be changed to "Q" in my opinion, it's not really necessary but I would prefer the controls are closed to each other. Above all, this is an excellent puzzle-platformer game. Good job.

Really cool concept! I've seen quite a few games with two character but this one had the unique twist to bin them together in different ways. It's a really cool game and the art is also quite nice. Good Job!

Great aesthetic. A little more handholding needed for someone like me.

Well done overall.

BTW, Would love for you to try my game too.

It is an Action Platformer with unique controls.

Amazing art - it looks great! Sometimes, the controls felt kinda cumbersome and I think this game could be massively improved by some indicator that shows which character you are controlling and it would be nice to add the death animations. However, those are only minor things. On the other hand, I loved the little details like the arrow that is pointing to the direction where the other character is, if they are out of sight — that is a nice touch!

This was a really sweet little puzzle game! The teamwork aspect was great, and all the different ways that you had to use one guy to assist the other added a lot to it's overall charm and fun. I found the controls to be a bit floaty at times, and I didn't realize that the underside of the blue guy was tough for a bit in the final level, but those are two very minor things that don't take away from the overall joy it was to swim around in that extremely cute game. Great job!

Great work guys it was a good experience, the art style was good, I think adding some kind of death animation would be great, key mapping was also good, overall I would say great work :D

Clever little puzzle game. Didn't realize at first that there were two different ways to connect them, so figuring that out was a nice surprise. If I had to suggest a tweak, the biggest one would be adding a wil-e coyote frame or two for jumps. Level 2 gave me more trouble than any of the "harder" levels, because I kept sliding off the long lateral jump, because I fell the second I was off the block. Made that particular jump feel finnicky.

Pretty cool and cute. I enjoyed the way the characters interact

incredibly charming !! it's clear a lot of effort was put into the setting and character design to make them cohesively cute, and as a big fan of cute things it's very appreciated effort hehe. the concept is solid and i haven't seen an attaching mechanic like yours anywhere else in the jam, so great job!

A shame the browser version didn't work, however great idea. It was relaxing to play, however I can't figure out how to get past level 4

Developer

(the turtle can attach to the top of the octopus)

Not sure what the issue is with the browser version. It worked better on Chrome for me than on Firefox, but both worked worse than the desktop version. Thanks for playing anyway!

I love the art and think it fits in really well with the music you have. I think that the concept is also great, but the timing is pretty hard to get right. I also think you can make the "attach" more intuitive to use and more visually appealing to the player. (Obviously, this is something that you probably didn't have time to implement in the Game Jam's time restrictions)

Great entry to the jam and a blast to play around with :)

Really interesting game all of the movement and level design is really polished I would love to see more in the future!

Great game, the mechanics are definitely showcased with excellent level design, and the game wasn't too difficult. The only thing that caught me off guard was that when separating it isn't immediately obvious which one you're controlling, so possibly have the one that's not in control close their eye[s]. I really liked the last level.

Really fun game, loved the level design but I could jump out of bounds in the third level because the jump reset at the wall.

First of all, as an artist... great character design. It's so super simple, but with the shapes and colors it really portrays some personality. And the way you could attach them up or below really gave it a cute little look.

The mechanics are solid, and do quite a few interesting things. I feel like the difficulty progression might be a bit jumpy due to the lack of a proper introduction of what the game wants you to do. An easy fix would be to have a smaller, simpler level with say, using Mr Horizontal as a shield for projectiles being a big main component, and maybe even having.. out of the 3 or 4 puzzles, have 2 or 3 of them show off a few ways you can do this. That way you highlight the functions of each of the individual characters perhaps a bit slower, but is way more likely to 'stick.' Aha, get it? Okay I'll let myself out now.

Oh, and perhaps a little feedback when blocking projectiles, jumping/attaching/detaching, and stepping on the intended teleporters would've been nice.

So yeah, aside from level design and difficulty progression, which can be an art/job in itself. Really solid work, and great great looks of the game. Well done and very polished for the gamejam! Keep it up!

Nice little puzzle platformer. There's a lot of submissions with controlling two characters and swapping between them, but from the ones I've seen, this is one of the best. I really like how different the characters are while still maintaining a balance between them and not making one seem just as a piece of baggage to carry with the other. The attachment mechanic makes for some interesting uses and it was delightful to figure out that it works both ways.

Now there are a couple of things that could be improved to make the game even better. The most noticeable one is not seeing any visual cue as to what character is currently selected. Normally, this would not be much of a problem as the controls would reveal that, but the attachment mechanic made it so it's not obvious which one is active. It would be great if, for example, the inactive one was asleep with its eyes closed or something.

Next, It took me a while to figure out what the goal actually is, the exit particles (especially the blue ones) are quite faint and hard to notice for a new player. Painting the exit similarly to the start would help this.

Finally, and this is a very small detail, the music, even though great, felt a bit repetitive after a while. In a puzzle game such as this, it is expected that the player will spend a fair amount of time scratching their head not really doing anything and it would be great to give them something more diverse to listen to.

Overall, I had fun playing your game, good job on making something like this in such a short time!

PS: Thanks a lot for that "Skip level" button, it makes playing and rating a game jam puzzle submission so much better.
