cute and clever :D would like to see more challenging levels

gosh, every time you guys come out with a new game im more tempted to subscribe to your patreon. such creative concepts! someday i will have money and i will be unstoppable <3

HOLY SHIT ITS FINALLY DONE

this is a charming puzzle game! thank you <3

that's okay! i'm glad the dungeon lock levels are proving interesting

this is driving me insane
excellent game, i will be back to give it another attempt

ohohohohoho, devious. impaling myself on my many children and watering the earth with my blood is a very compelling game mechanic. final plant has me stumped >:P

alas, it had to be :( but fear not! at least the DKA update i promised you a month ago will see the light of day

maybe

hmm. neat concept but there isn't enough going on. once you have a circle of guns you can just press z to kill everything on the screen, and the game is effectively over

shoot, i forgot to follow up on this- but if you red my ascent devlog you know i do plan to return DKA to development in the coming weeks :)

thank you! come back next week for another batch of puzzles

i've actually been thinking about having bridges act like the traditional platforms in 2d games where you can jump up or drop down through them whenever you want. might have a lot of interesting implications

i wish :/ sadly is not one of puzzlescript's, like, five features. i would have to fork the engine and i do not know js.

but! there is a build in my discord server which has the debug platforms on earlier levels, so you can skip through them quickly. i'll release such a build along with every update going forward

https://discord.gg/8JGZq6hcza

i do not think i managed to top last week's difficulty but i did my best

frustrating and brilliantly imagined

so incredibly clever! thank you for letting me have this experience

OH MY GODS YOU CAN. THAT IS GOING TO SAVE ME SO MUCH TIME THANK YOU

and yess, always appreciate puzzle suggestions! i'll see what i can come up with for this week's batch of levels

thanks for playing <3

good idea- i'll number the levels in this week's update

rock traps are an important puzzle element, but it really does seem like you should have enough time to dodge them... maybe a future ability could help with that

very simple + clever block-pushing metroidvania game! i got stuck on the island puzzle guarding otter >:P

i can see i will have to up my game O-O

i somehow got this barracks into a weird bugged state:

you can't see in the screenshot, but my mouse cursor is hovering over that house in the top right corner. there's an invisible 1x3 tile area from that house to the trees below, and when i click there the barracks snaps from wherever it is on the battlefield to that location and is picked up. i can otherwise move the barracks around and place it normally

omg fullscreen update :o cant talk must make castles

glad you enjoyed it! i just released update 0.3 so there are five new puzzles to try out

😭

i'm glad you liked ascent! for this level you will need to retrieve both boulders to progress :)

not working for me :( but i'll keep an eye out for the next release ^^

hi! love your game- it really do be tiny tho:

is there any way to get it in full screen i'm missing?

yeah! puzzle design is not my strong suit but i'm starting to get the hang of it. that top rock actually prevents an alternate solution to level 10; in later levels that shale-boulder pattern will be used to limit the number of times you can use certain routes

more levels coming this time next week!

hi! i have no plans to work on this game anytime soon- i lost the most up-to-date file, so it would take some work to build back to what's published here.

i also struggled to make interesting puzzles with the elements i have. i know it's possible but at my current skill i don't think i could make the game as interesting as it deserves to be

but! i will look at it and get back to you in two weeks with a yay or nay. i would love to turn DKA into a finished game, and this winter would be a good time to try to get it done

(in the meantime if you haven't played ascent yet go check it out ;) it's much less agonizing and is being actively updated)

false positive then. thanks for playing!

(1 edit)

also i swear i remember your name. did i interact with you during gmtk 2021? i was [REDACTED] at the time

o you are kidding me

those are for testing- you can't make a level select in puzzlescript, so this is the next best way to quickly skip to whatever stage im working on -.-

thanks for the catch, has been fixed

this is the most fun i have ever had playing a point and click. brilliant concept and adorable execution. much love <3

this is such a clever and adorable game <3

came from your youtube! i think this could be a legendary two-player coop game, if you ever decide to revisit it. throwing items across the level to/at each other sounds like a blast and the element of human interaction would probably make the game both more manageable and more hectic at the same time

(also it would be sick if you could deflect the flying cogs using the wrench)

-pteren

very bugged sadly

Fabulous. I would love to play a full version of this, where you can customize your dice between fights to balance your potential to roll certain abilities

very easy to get stuck by running out of money or the game just breaking. There's no clear objective either

Why is it called soul bandit?

This is a LOT better. Personally I prefer instant movement (because that's what I'm used to) but the short animation time is a good compromise. One think you can do to further improve the movement is to record keystrokes and execute them in order after the fact (kind of like how you can press the button to turn before reaching an intersection in Pac-Man). Good progress, levels are much more enjoyable now!
