Really good looking and interesting concept with an unique style. One can tell you over-scoped but what's there is damn impressive! Looking forward to playing future iterations after the jam. Are you going to expand on it?
Pretty good art and idea, but I have had some problems with screen size.
You can also look at our game too, if you have a time :)
How did you make this in just 48 hours?
The UI is a bit messy and I think the in general is a bit too complicated. Also, even a wall of text tutorial would have been better than nothing. This way I can't even play your game properly. :(
Edit: Also, how does this fit the theme?
Thank you for taking the time to write a comment.
Godot did most of the heavy lifting. Yes, the game is complicated for a 48hr - I am definitely going to make it better - I like the idea of the town been dependent on the monsters and at the same time not wanting the monsters. It did not come out in the current build of the game.
Theme: I was thinking about the dependency of the building, i.e. you need wood to get food to get people then get people to protect the village.
The art was really fantastic! Congrats, I loved the way it looked.
I like the aesthetic, however the gameplay wasn't super engaging. Not sure how it fits the theme, but nice job anyway.
Thank you for taking the time to write a comment. It motivates me. And it is nice.
The idea was that the building depends on each over. For a house to create a person, it needs food and so on - they are joined together. BUT what I did not get to was the happiness bar and fear. The idea is to have the townspeople dependent on the monsters. They are bound together.
Hi! First of all, I'm such a fan of Kurzgesagt too :D The game idea seems interesting but it was a bit wonky for me, maybe it is Unity's shenanigans, but it was showing small in my browser, and the camera was very slow in the middle and too fast on the side. This has probably something to do with scaling resolution, and it is a 48 hour jam, no one expects that it runs perfecly everywhere!

About the gameplay itself, I was a bit confused on what to do, so maybe some hints would be great. But the art was really colorful and beautiful, and this was done over a weekend! Be proud of even submitting it, that's a huge accomplisment. Wish you all of the best in your next projects :D
Hey mate. Some feedback:
- A tutorial would be *really* nice, especially because the UI on merchant and on the Soldiers area seems to be kinda glitchy.
- The fact that the buildings are not on the ground annoys me. Furthermore, they should rotate to the way they should be facing.
- WHY DO HOUSES GIVE COPPER?!?!? That is very unintuitive. Please change or add description,
- Why does the merchant leaves after I buy something of them?
- The fact that I cannot restart after losing also annoys me. Why don't you just let me restart when I lose?
- I like the Kurzgesagt aestethic.
- Enemies should spawn from both sides.
- Mate. Add sounds. I'm serious.
Not sure whether or not your game is beatable. After wave 5 the game went to wave 6/5 then went back to wave 1:

Really beautifull game, maybe a little bit of juice would increase the fun but it's always hard to polish in a jam :p
Congrats
