Very good idea and concept!!
but level design need more test play. But this is 48h game jam.
I love this game and its potential. Well done!

Really neat idea where the shadow affects the actual player. Love the art.

My only critique is that jump isn’t the Space bar. It was really weird trying to jump and attack using only the mouse. Can’t wait to see what you make next!

This is a very cool gameplay idea and I would love to play a full game based on it, but for the love of God, please add some checkpoints to your levels if you insist on having insta-death spikes in them. After 20 attempts at clearing level 2, I gave up because running up to the moving lamp (where I always messed up and died) was just too boring to continue.

Cool idea, took me a moment to realise my shadow could stand on shadow platforms.

I really enjoyed the shadow jumping, killer game!

Developer

Thanks!!!

Very pretty, cool mechanic, would love to see it explored a little more indepth

I really loved the art and idea for this game. I think it would have elevated it by alot if music had existed. I think the game was too spacious and not enough enemies. But overall i think it was sick asf xox

Love the clever use of the shadow! The clean art and animation really enhance the gameplay.

Really unique and creative implementation of the theme! The part where you have to use the shadow behind you to jump on the platform solidified this as one of my favorite games in this jam! Animations are also stunning, my one critique is that I wish the shadow didn't sink through the shadow floor, doesn't feel like it adds anything interesting to the gameplay.

The animation and lighting is so clean! The enemies are kind of sparse tho.

I think this idea works better as a platformer than a hack and slash. Your shadow can make combat trivial but the platforming sections were a lot of fun.

Great submission and very fitting to the theme - I love the animations, the hits and the implementation of the theme in your game. Really good job!

Developer

Thanks!!! :D

This is a super unique concept and the gameplay is super interesting! Super nice pixel art too!

Nice one. Some background music will enchance gameplay.

Submitted(+2)

The idea is interestingly original.

Wow, this is really clever and well designed, the interaction with lighting, enemy shadows, etc... really fantastic work!

Clever use of shadows for mechanics. Kudos for the idea.

Would be interesting to see what future holds for further development. Perhaps Shadow possession Jutsu :)

I like it ^^ Interesting to fight/platform with both the player and the shadows. Nice job on the jam!

Very interesting idea! There is a lot of room here for future potential with this design. There is a lot of blank spaces of just walked which could be cut down, as well as a few checkpoints would also help. Overall great idea with some pretty cool levels!

This is really cool. Gorgeous, and really impressive work with the lighting, even before the central mechanic (which is rad) comes into play.

Thanks!
