It fits the theme in two ways; Story and Gameplay. The story tells us about the reason for our characters' companionship, the Gameplay lets you combine your strengths to reach your goal of getting home easier.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Everything except for the fonts was made from scratch

This game was pretty well made!

The artstyle of the game was really nice, and the whole hand drawn type style was really cool.

I sadly couldn't make it too far in the game, since I personally found it a little difficult, and it was alittle hard to tell who I was controlling with what keys sometimes since I'd get them confused.

One other small nitpick was the in game text and/or intro, as it was a little hard to read because of the background and stuff.

Overall great game and well done for a jam game!

I really liked the art of this :) and the music, characters and animation.

But i didnt like that my view got blocked on that one part, that was a bit annoying for me at least, maybe the characters could get an outline or the blocking part is semi transperent? I would very like this.

Neat game and I like the art style, I found the camera just continuously moving up weird and was confusing for a mostly calm game. Other than that it was a nice concept with a pretty atmosphere :)

Really good looking game! The power up system is great, started off just playing leaf lady because coordinating every jump so that the mushroom man can join too was too hard. Having the upgrades made it a lot easier. Very good story as well!

The rogue-like powerup system is actually very clever. The interactive character bouncing and amazing art also add to the game. Amazing work!

Game looks and plays nice! Just needed to crank the audio up. Felt kinda bad when I won without leaf lady, mushroom man seemed pretty heartbroken.

Very pretty game! I've got to say though, I definitely felt weaker together. Found I did best when I let Mushroom Man die and just got as far as I could with Leaf Lady.

Hi! I really, really enjoyed playing this game!

Things I liked:

I love the ability to play as two characters as once. It made for really challenging but fair gameplay.
I didn't use the items in the shop but I feel like I should have because I kept leaving Leaf Lady behind and those may have helped. But I loved that they were there.
The art style was SOOOO good! The characters, in particular, were VERY beautiful.
I really enjoyed that there was a story. Im super sad I haven't been able to get a happy ending yet :/

Suggestions for Improvement:

The sound engineering I think could use some juice. They were a bit too low in my opinion.

Overall it was very very good! And thanks for reviewing my game :D

We havent heard of this issue yet. We tried playing the game on multiple browsers and so far, they all worked. Maybe you could try to use another browser to play the game?

Adorable game! I love the sprite work, narrative, and sound design! I find the bush boys to be wonderful, especially the large ones. I wish the screen scrolled up with your bounces as I found myself hitting my head on enemies I could not see above me.
