this is the result of 22 hours of development. While the game systems are in place, I didn't have much time for all the content that I wanted to add.

Hey. I recorded a video about the Unexpected jam and included your game in it. If you want to cut your game out of the video, let me know. However, if you like the video, I make similar videos every day. I will be happy if you subscribe. Anyway, I enjoyed playing your game.

Developer

Hey MGC,

Thank you for thaking the time to play my game.

You stumbled upon the bug where if you press X during the cutscene it skips to the platformer without enabling movement keys. I have fixed this in a new release, but in the current jam version you can only restart to fix it.

Don't worry. All games have bugs. I still enjoyed it. I will try playing it one more time myself. :D

Developer

I will upload a new/improved version after the voting period is done. Thank you again

Liked this one short and fun

Hey - I want to start off by saying the first time the voice-music game on I thought there was somebody behind me making those noises and I about jumped out of my chair. I really loved the goofiness of your game - it definitely contributed a lot to the overall feel. I found a bug where you can press X during the dialogue and it skill the dialogue but lock you out of the controls.  Maybe this is the bug people are reporting? The stretched text also bothered me a bit, I would have preferred if it just appeared as a canvas element with a speech bubble kinda feel. It was a very cool game with a cool concept, well done :)

Developer (1 edit)

Hey thank you for the very valuable feedback! It never occurred to me the idea to press X before the end of the dialog. I will release a fixed build after the voting is over.

I keep making the same mistake with my games - I dedicate 70-80 % of the time for one game mechanic and then rush all the rest. The dialog bubbles suffered from this.

Oddly beautiful! This is a game. I loved the stretched test more than I should for some reason :D! And as a sound designer I gotta compliment the soundtrack <3

Very exciting lol

The inputs didnt work for me, am I doing something wrong? Tried everything and the character doesnt move

Developer

You are the second person who says this. Are you using Opera by any chance?

Submitted

no, is chrome =/

Worked for me.. odd

Developer

I don't know how to debug this.

May I ask you to send a screenshot of the moment where you are stuck?

Doesnt move at all

Developer

Jeff, according to this page https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/webgl-debugging.html , if I make a development build you could access some information that is available in the browser console...

Honestly that will take way longer than watching the youtube video of the 3 minutes game.

No worries, webgl is problematic and there's loads of factors that can affect your build. I worked with webgl games for 5 years (not unity tho)

Developer

As another user mentioned. There is a bug where pressing X before the end of the dialog changes the scene, but doesn't enable the movement. I already fixed it in my new build, but I won't upload that until the end of the voting stage.

Haha I love it, very funny game. My only criticism is that the speech bubbles and text look weirdly stretched and it makes it kinda hard to read, but other than that I had a great time. Oh and the music is top notch :)

Submitted(+1)

This was cute! Also kinda makes you think about life and work :)

I almost wanted all the sounds to be voiced. I liked the impact of the music and was hoping there's be voiced lines accompanying the effect noises.

Was it expected that pressing the space bar on the screen applies a lot more upward force than pressing the physical keyboard space bar?

Developer(+1)

Hey, thank you for the great feedback.

The voice over for the sound effects is a great idea and I should have done it!

The screen spacebar is a non consistent bug that I left there as I was pressured by time

Submitted(+1)

The music is the best part! Could of used more polish but I mean for 22 hours that good.  The story was funny and the gameplay was fun and very unexpected. Play my game if you get a chance!

Submitted(+1)

it took my a few times but it was unexpected

Are you sure it works? I can't do anything :/

Developer

I always have problems with the UI on different screen sizes. Could it be that in full screen you are still missing the bar on the bottom that shows which keys are available to you? Have you tried pressing "X"?

Submitted (1 edit)

Hmm, I see the bar, but they doesn't do anything. I dont' know, arrows should move me left and right? If yes, they don't :/

Opera, Windows 10

Developer

I don't know what to advise you. The game is super short. I made a let's play video and it is 3 minutes long :)
