In what way does your game fit the theme?
The primary mechanic of the game is that the player must attempt to shoot and destroy invading enemies. However this can only be done if the projectile that they fire is in a "rewinding" state (initiated when pressing the space bar). This means that the player has to strategically plan all of their shots so that when they make the projectile rewind, it will destroy enemies.

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes

Simple and fun! I like everything about it. TBH, the game is kinda addicting :D

The game is really simple but it's also super fun! Using the blue projectile to hit multiple enemies is super satisfying. One thing I would've liked is the ability to shoot multiple projectiles instead of one, then rewind them all at the same time. I think that would make killing the enemies a lot more satisfying!

This game was really fun for me, the graphics were nice, but the static noise rewind sound effect got a little repetative, toning that down a bit might help.

It was satisfying having the projectile knock through multiple enemies, and it was exciting watching the enemies almost get you as I scrambled to kill them.

One of the more fun games I've played in this jam!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed it.

really enjoyed playing the game. just adding some more powerups or guns or something would make it better. and maybe different type of enemies maybe one that's jiggling around or something

Things I loved about the game

  • The simplistic design
  • Easy to play hard to master
  • Rewinding static noise and static overlay
  • The rewinding ball mechanic reminds me of Arhi's first ability from league of legends
  • Amazing job with the particle effects and the sounds of enemies being destroyed is very satisfying to hear
  • WHOA!! YOU HAVE A LEADERBOARD SYSTEM! (I'm a bit jealous, I wanted it in my game as well :P )
  • The fact it is an endless runner so lots of replayability (Works well with the Leaderboard system)

Improvements

  • Could you make it so you don't have to enter your name every time to see the leaderboard
  • Leaderboard scroll is slow on mouse wheel and bit clunky when you drag it sometimes
  • Ability to put multiple balls in the map at later stages

Bugs

  • Couldn't find any so far. Well done!

I love your game especially because it has alot of similarities with my own game but your game is different in the fact it has much more polishing done and particle system looks on point. It is very satisfying to play and I will come back time and again to get the high score as it appeals to my competitive nature. Add me on discord btw " invalid#8392 "

Hey, thank you so much for your feedback, really glad you enjoyed playing.

Nice arcade-y shooter with the premise on rewinding. An idea would be to make the game flow better, and for that, my idea would be it auto-rewinds every time you click to keep that flow moving. Also be sure to at least through some time of starry background to the game! Even random white spots would have been good. Great game in a week, otherwise!

Thank you for your feedback and for checking it out, definitely agree with on the points you raised and will definitely update it accordingly post-jam

Had fun playing this, it would make a fun arcade game especially with the high scores. I do think if the transition between shooting and rewinding was a bit smoother it would be even more enjoyable.

Simple and fun. Challenging as you progress. Good submission!!

Maybe some power ups that make your ball bigger, or bombs in the level that explode nearby enemies would be nice for the player. Scored 312 in my first play.

Managed to get a score of 312! Felt really satisfying when multiple enemies lined up and I killed all of them! Maybe in a post jam version you could add different gun types! like a shotgun that shoots 3 pellets than can rewind back! Great work!

Developer

Great idea! Will definitely implement something like that in the future.

Really fun!  It is SO satisfying as you watch your little glowing ball smash through heaps of orange ones.  My high score was 1320, thank you for this fun little experience!  It is really well made.

Basically 5 stars on all categories!
