I reached lvl5, but then I couldn't get further. The level was big and you had to do everything again when you made a mistake... which is easy when the static-phase is that long. I liked the overall style and gameplay, but a few checkpoints would probably had me trying a bit more. Nice game

Developer

Thank you for playing and the feedback!

Hey, great job finishing your game! I finally got around to playing it! It was overall very fun and had a nice challenge to it. I like how you stuck with the theme and I definitely had to be mindful of my placement anytime the tv countdown popped up. Perhaps instead of having the enemies field of view be a radius around them, you could do cone vision in front of them, similar to the early Metal Gear Solid games which have a similar stealth system. You could also add another ghost ability to sort of pulse out a wave of ghostly energy that might highlight enemies outside of view? Those were some neat ideas that came to mind while playing it, but otherwise the stealth gameplay reminds me of the first couple of Metal Gear games which was very nostalgic! Great Job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying my game and the feedback! I love your idea of a cone for the enemy's detection field. I would definitely make the game feel fairer and would help avoid having enemies detect the player through walls and such. I also like your ideas for new abilities. On the 2nd to last day of the jam I started working on an ability where the player could spawn a "dummy ghost" for the enemies to chase and lead away from the player. I wasn't able to complete it in time, but I think an extra ability would definitely spice up the gameplay. Thanks again!

Submitted

Sure thing! And that dummy ghost ability sounds awesome! That would definitely be a good one to add for sure!

The visuals are vibrant and the voice lines add a unique touch, but the gameplay feels a bit rushed. The lane transitions could be smoother to enhance the experience, and clearer indicators for active power-ups would help players stay engaged. Overall, it's a solid entry with room for refinement. If you have a moment, I'd appreciate it if you could check out and rate my Halloween jam game too: https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-halloween-jam-2025/rate/3971977

Thank you for playing! When I first made and built the game as a windows build, when the player used the "Ghost Phase" ability. the player ghost went from a light purple color (like it is shown in the cover image) to an emissive white color. For some reason when building to WebGL, the original light purple material didn't show properly so the Ghost always appears white. I think that might have helped players differentiate between normal mode and stealth mode. I'm curious what you meant by "lane transitions?"  I agree with you that some more visual feedback would make the game feel better to play and create a more engaging experience for players. Thank you for the feedback! It definitely gives me some things to think about and improve with future projects.

I don't know why, but it gave me vibes of the Winnie the Pooh PlayStation 2 game. Which is a favorite thing because I used to wear that disc out when I was a kid!
This is a really fun game! I liked almost everything about it! It would be nice to see it polished further after the jam!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it.

finally I get to review your game :) and just like you had to hustle in my game, I had to hustle in yours to avoid those monsters!

Really enjoyed it, the opening scenes also gave it a really nice and rounded feel.

One tiny suggestion for you: You should lock the ability to move and use ability while this opening is playing. Sometimes I would be dead before it even started :) But that is a small thing.

Great little game overall!

Developer

Thanks for playing! And that is a great suggestion. I meant to lock the players ability to move abd the enemies ability to detect the layer until after the opening cinematic but I think I forgot that. Your idea would work really well because it would still allow the player to move around but not be detected during the openings.

This was a pretty fun game! I liked the stealth mode and use of TV signal which randomly interrupts you. Also I liked the camera in the beginning of each level which tells you about the path. I wish that the camera was behind the ghost like 3rd person view so that I know where the ghost is going, like done in Assassin's Creed Lol!

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback! In the final level there are two long stretches where the player can't really see very far in front of them as they are going. That was my intention as I wanted the player to have to try to properly time their ghost mode based on where they thought enemies were and should be. I did worry though that it could be too difficult for players. I think a 3rd person camera like you mentioned would be fun to try out and see how it affects players decisions.

That was a very creative interpretation of the theme. It was also a really interesting take on a puzzle game. The music was also great.

By level 4 the mechanic started to wear on me, and by level 5 I just didn't have the motivation to try and finish the level. A second music track might've broken up the monotony a bit too. I also found that by entering ghost mode right as skeletons saw you, you could trap them and they would follow you around but not kill you.

Overall a solid game loop and good presentation.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing my game! I really appreciate the feedback. I initially planned for 5 levels and then cut it back to 4. I agree with you that the music could use a bit of variety. Perhaps a new theme or slightly modified theme for each level would help break the levels up a bit.

This was pretty cool!

I personally would have appreciated a little heads up before the static would show up on the screen so I could better prep for it. But reading some of the comments I see the surprise of it was more of the intended experience, which is totally valid! I guess I should have read those first so I knew going in lol.

But overall this was really cool! Awesome job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback! I really appreciate it.  I tried to put a subtle hint into the description that something would obstruct the players sight, but I totally see how it wasn't completely clear.  Initially I had the static effect happen at random intervals but decided to make it a consistent interval to hopefully make things easier for the player.

Cool little stealth ghosty game :)

Thanks for playing!

Nice little game! It really looks fantastic, and the camera moves at level starts are nice as well. My only critique is that it was sometimes a bit unclear why you have failed (maybe the hitbox of the detection radius is a bit off?).

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback. Another player mentioned that some enemies chased them through walls, so perhaps that could have happened unexpectedly. All of the enemies should have the same chase radius, with slight adjustments to their speed.

Submitted(+1)

Managed to get through all 5 levels fairly quickly, though the 4th and 5th ones definitely ramped up a bit in difficulty. The randomness of the static definitely makes it a bit more tense, but luckily the safe zones added a bit of breathing room.

Developer

Happy to hear you made it through. Thanks for playing! My goal with the static effect was to make the player feel more on edge and have to pay closer attention to their surroundings.

Like some others sayed, at begin it's a bit confusing - after that it makes fun - really loved the Cinematic Intros for each level - Well done!

Thanks for playing, appreciate it!

I had a lot of fun playing! I love the graphics, especially the visuals of the ghost. Great work =)

Developer

Thanks i’m really glad you liked it!

A little hard at first, but once I got how everything worked, it was waaaay easier hahaha . It's just a little confusing at the beginning.

Developer(+1)

Thank so much for playing!

Fun! I couldn't get past level 5. Those skeletons sure love running through the fence to grab me! Really great play on the theme

Developer

Thanks for playing it! Yeah level 5 is definitely on the more difficult side. The enemies that come up and down the narrow walkways, you kind of have to predict when there coming before you see them and then activate your ghost phase to get through them. I tried to build a few safe zones into the level to help out. Thanks for the kind words.

Submitted(+1)

Great stealth puzzle game.  I got the level 5.  The static noise was a bit jarring maybe it flash for a second so the player could prepare for it.

this game is really fun! visuals are great as well!

Developer

Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing.

Very cool having the signal tune out and having to manage using the stealth if around an enemy. Nicely done!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Im sorry I couldn't play it despite having a powerful computer (Mac mini M4) the lag was insane only about an fps of about 5 to 10 I'm sure its a good game I just couldn't play it.

Developer (2 edits)

Hmmm I'm not sure what the issue could be. I have a mid range windows laptop and it runs fine. Others have played it as well and had no issues. I will have to look into it. The initial build was for Windows before switching to WebGL. Maybe it has something to do with compatibility issues with Mac?

Submitted(+1)

Great game. The sweeping camera showing the level was very well done.

I certainly found the static jarring but I guess that's the point of it. It was a clever way to incorporate the theme and instantly turned it into a bit of a memory game trying to remember where things are and moving accordingly.

Very good overall.

Developer

Thanks for playing, i'm glad you liked it!
