thank you s much! INLY 3 HOURS AHHH GOOD LUCK!

(1 edit)

Hey everyone! 👋

Can you believe we’re already down to the final 3 hours of the GameDev.tv Halloween Jam 2025? It’s been such an awesome few days seeing everyone’s spooky, creative, and wild projects come to life — seriously, this community never disappoints. 💪

This jam was actually my first ever published game, and it’s been such a huge learning experience. I’ve had a few people leave some super encouraging comments and helpful feedback that’s already got my brain buzzing with ideas for what to improve next. Seeing people actually play something I made has been crazy rewarding — and a little surreal! 😅

That said, we’re in the final stretch, and I’d love to get a few more eyes (and ratings!) before the deadline hits.
Here’s my entry:
👉 Play & Rate My Game Here!

💬 Let’s do a last-minute “rate-for-rate” push! Drop your game links in the comments — I’ll check out as many as I can before the clock runs out and leave honest feedback and ratings. It’s been awesome seeing how supportive everyone’s been, so let’s keep that spirit going right to the finish line. 🏁

Whether you’re chasing those final stars or just proud of what you managed to pull off (which you should be!), let’s make the most of these last few hours and help each other out.

Good luck to everyone wrapping things up — and congrats on making it through the jam! 🎃👻🕹️

Thanks for giving it another go! Glad to hear it’s beatable now 😅 — and good catch on the clipping, that might’ve snuck in with the update. I’ll take another look at that for sure.

Interesting note about the pacing too — I might bump the tension back up a bit for balance. Really appreciate you checking back and leaving feedback, and I’m excited to share more once Chapter 2 rolls around! 👀

no worries! great entry!

thanks so much for the feedback! glad you enjoyed it so much! good luck!

just checked it out! great entry I'll leave a honest review but don't be alarmed aha! seriously under the radar game I wish this had more views seriously good game! good luck! don't forget to check out hush boy hush aswell!

Nice entry! As others have mentioned, the core idea is solid, and the game shows a lot of potential. The movement mechanics, utilizing gun knockback, are creative and add a unique twist to the gameplay. However, some areas could benefit from refinement. Increasing the shot speed slightly might help with the issue of bouncing off walls and into your own bullets, making the combat feel smoother.

Additionally, implementing clearer enemy spawn patterns and reducing sudden collisions could enhance the player experience. Adding background music and sound effects would also contribute to the overall atmosphere. Introducing item drops and enemy variety could further enrich the gameplay.

— thanks and best of luck in the jam! 🎃

Nice entry! Like others have said, the atmosphere and tension really stand out and the visual style is engaging. I also noticed that some of the mechanics could use a bit more clarity—having clearer instructions or subtle cues would make it easier for new players to understand the objectives. Overall, it’s a solid jam entry with a lot of potential.

Let’s finish the jam strong! 💀🎮

Hi everyone,

I’m excited to share a minor update to my Halloween Jam 2025 submission aimed at making the game smoother, fairer, and more enjoyable — without altering any core mechanics.

Over the past few days, I’ve read your comments and feedback carefully. Many of you mentioned that certain mechanics — like the frequency remote and the TV task — felt a little unforgiving at times. I really appreciate your input and have taken it to heart, responding to comments where possible and using your feedback to guide this update.

Here’s what’s improved:

  • Balanced difficulty: I’ve fine-tuned timing variables so the challenge feels fairer and more consistent. No new mechanics were added or changed — this is purely a variable tweak. ✅

  • Help bar duration extended: The help/progress bar now lasts longer, giving you more time to plan and react during the night while keeping the tension intact.

  • TV task adjustments: The TV task now allows more time to complete and occurs less frequently, making this part of the game feel more balanced without reducing the overall challenge.

  • Atmosphere and interaction preserved: The game remains spooky, immersive, and interactive — exactly as before, just with a smoother and more enjoyable flow.

I want to emphasize again: this update fully respects jam rules. No major mechanics have been added or changed — all adjustments are tweaks to variables only, improving playability without altering the core experience.

If you haven’t had a chance to try the game recently (or want to replay with the updated balance), you can check it out here:

Thank you to everyone who has played, rated, and left feedback — your insights have been incredibly helpful, and I’m grateful for the time you’ve spent supporting my game. Let’s finish this jam strong! 🎃💀

Hey there! 👻

I just played Candy Hunt and had a blast! The endless runner concept is fun, and the jump-scare at death added a nice touch of surprise. The bat enemy was a great addition, though I found it a bit challenging to judge the perspective and collision at times. Perhaps adjusting the hit detection could improve the experience.

Thanks so much and best of luck in the jam! 🎃

Hey there! 🎃

I just played ScreenMania and had a great time! The atmosphere was eerie, and the lighting and sound really set the mood. The gameplay loop was simple but effective, and I can see it working well as part of a larger game. One suggestion: the knob controls were a bit tricky to manage, so tweaking the sensitivity could improve the experience.

Thanks so much and best of luck in the jam! 👻

Hey — I just played The Presence and really enjoyed the eerie atmosphere! The concept of a dark room with a TV left on, alerting you to something unseen, is both unsettling and intriguing. The visuals were well-executed, and the mechanics were engaging. One suggestion: adding a screen or message upon death could help players understand what went wrong and how to improve in subsequent attempts. Hey there! 🎃

I just played Trick or TV and had a blast! The atmosphere was spooky, and the gameplay kept me on edge. The use of sound and visuals really added to the tension. One suggestion: the camera controls felt a bit tricky at times, so tweaking the sensitivity could improve the experience.

Hey — I just played Nightmare Corridor and really enjoyed the eerie atmosphere! The hallway design and lighting immediately set a tense mood, and the little audio cues made it feel alive. One thing: the movement felt a bit slippery at times, so tweaking the speed or collision could help keep players grounded.
