Hi all!

I hope everyone is happy, healthy and productive.  I am curious to see what kind of games people are making.  This is my first game jam and I’ve decided to make a time-travelling themed pinball table with some time based features such as rewind and slow-motion.

Last year I decided to back the Tilt-Five: Tabletop Kickstarter and I’m hoping to make a game compatible with that in Unity.

Shout out to all the other solo developers out there.  Good luck!

I spent most of today making this test of a scrolling dot-matrix logo to go on the back box on my pinball table.  Quite happy how it turned out.

I also have a working prototype of the playfield.  Tomorrow will be an art day, so much modeling of paddles, bumpers and slingshots.

That is a interesting concept you have there.  As for me, I have decided to make a FPS shooter where you must survive from aliens for a certain period of time.  I have  finished the foundation of the movement and I'm currently working on the AI for the aliens.  I want the movement to be fast-paced and to give the player multiple options to completing levels. This might be a large task for me as I might not have enough time, but I'm hoping I have a playable game by the end of the Jam. Hope everyone is having a good time.

Sounds like fun.  Would be cool to see some screenshots when you're ready to show something.

I've been modeling the last few days but tomorrow I'll put my new assets into Unity and try and post some screenshots of my own.

Your pinball machine sounds like fun, I'm looking forward to trying it.
I'm a self-proclaimed pinball machine god, so bring it on.

Me, I'm taking an easier road being a noob.

Based on the RPG course I'm making a game where you explore the Port Adelaide area during four different eras, collect all the premiership cups and then, well I'm not sure what the win condition will be yet.

Here is some Week one shenanigans:

Very cool.  :-)

Looking good guys.

Here's a shot of the pinball table so far and above, a new intro logo I made for the back box.
Everything is working well but it's been pretty tricky to get the ball to travel around the ramps so will probably focus next on some more artwork for the ramp entries.

I'm making a chess-esque game with a real-time element.

You have to move your tokens to the place marked by the clock hands in order to capture the enemy's tokens.

( The actual game looks better, the .gif recorder I used didn't capture the glow effect correctly )

I currently have the basic game done. I also plan to include a story with multiple endings that involves running out of time.

awesome!! Cool!! :O

I'm having a "were not worthy" moment looking at all these cool ideas. Nicely done.

i was already making a game when i came across this jam. so i'm taking my wave by wave shooter and making it so you can have time molding abilities.

Submitted

So here's my mid-way video.  All the important elements are in such as scoring, ball counter, flippers and bumpers.  The "Back in Time" feature triggers the first time the ball goes down the drain and the light between the flippers shows when the feature is active.  This light flashes as the ball goes back in time.

It's all a bit glitchy (here the ball counter triggers twice at one point) but I'm generally happy with my progress.

Tomorrow I'll be re-modelling the whole table again.

Very nice, good to see the capture the ball on the flipper works well.

Can't wait to play the game. I even played a few pinball games on itch.

I'm making an action platformer in which time is your health. Now it's in first realease state. Still a bit buggy: https://thenerdpoint60.itch.io/stuck-in-the-cassette

Gave it a go, took me a little while to get used to having move and gun direction on the same keys but got used to it.
I think the default sounds are a little loud but no big deal.
Good stuff.

Nice, funky little platform game.  Looking good.

Submitted

I’ve honestly come up with a similar kind of vibe, platformer where time is pretty much against you. Not an action platform, more like a cute fun one. Hopefully I get to finish it in time!

I also like to give an update on my game. I made nice progress and the game now also has music and sound effects :-):

That is really, really impressive.
Appreciated the excellent opening and settings scenes (forgotten is spelt wrongly though).

The gameplay looks very interesting and I feel I would want to keep playing to try to improve my score.
Love the need to dodge the clock hands, very Dali :)

Congratulations. I'm a big fan.

Wow. Thank you very much :-)!

I learned a lot by making this game and such feedback (specially to a not yet released game) makes me really happy ^^. Thanks also for mentioning to the wrong spelling. I've updated it now :-).

Actually my plan was to release is it yesterday. Let's see I will make it today. Looking forward to hear about which level you will reach :-) [I think I never will make it further than lvl 4 ^^]

Challenge accepted :)

Then I wish you luck by trying :-). I've just released the game. You can find it here: https://tomate-salat.itch.io/keep-your-memory

I just had a quick play.  This is a really inventive game and goes well with the theme.  Super hard though!  I’m lucky to get three kills.

Submitted

This game is meant to be hard :-). I'm not sure if don't charge enough. Bombs start with 10lp and your max damage is 20. So you need to charge at least half of the time to kill them with one shot. With every round bombs get 2 more lp.

Also don't stuck in the mid. Try get as much distance as possible between the top clock hand and you. So it is also important were you are on the map. A safe spot will always be only kind of temporary.

Submitted

Its definitely hard but I'm getting better at the boost.

well it's not finished yet but I'm making progress (this is my first game btw also this is the first game jam that I join)

Hi Jujo

I was able to walk around inside the house ok, but should I be doing more than that.
I wasn't sure what else to do except look around.

It was my first time playing a Godot game, it looks like it is coming along well.

Thanks but that was not the game ye

I'm actually creating a fnaf 2-esque game but has a very different storyline and gameplay

Here are some teasers: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/26203341/

Oh wow, I didn't think it's possible to make sunch complex games on Scratch. Keep it up!

Yeah many people think that but scratch is pretty much just an easier understand programming language. Though it does have some limitations.

I'm creating a puzzle / adventure game where you control a beaded entity underwater. This is the 1st Game Jam I've ever joined and the 2nd project I made in Unity – and I'm having a blast!

Here's v1.0 of my game:

https://litetj.itch.io/ten-minutes-of-existence

That sounds very fun

Submitted(+1)

I tried to make it enjoyable for players – although it does get repetitive when you complete the game multiple times :)

Don't worry that's normal for most games

Submitted (1 edit)

I made  a short, action RPG where if you shoot, you slow down time around you. It's a Top Down RPG with a metroidvania feel(mainly the fights and enemies) and there's a story element in to. I tried to fill it with quarantine related jokes and weird gags to make it more enjoyable. There's also a boss battle at the end.

Here's the game: https://sreenington.itch.io/bba

(First Jam and game here btw. I'm mentioning this specifically to gain sympathy by appealing to your emotions :P)

I like platformers so I’m making one. All I know is that it’s going to be a busy Saturday… holding up on the coffee till then :-D. This is my first game jam I actually got some availability for and I love it! Still early alpha but a lot more levels and mechanics to come soon!
