I have to say, this was an incredibly unique and original idea. The art style was really interesting. I got to one stage where all my pieces where the same colour as the board and it was a really really dark blue. So it made it hard to see,. And I rushed reading the instructions at the start and since there wasn't a menu I could check I had to restart so I knew how to play the game.... But apart from that, I loved it!
I got ending 3/5. I have put it in my list to return too!
I loved the connection to a clock and how it's like checkers with a twist. I was surprised you implemented alternate endings too that was nice!
Good job! :D
Hi!
I managed to get the "truth" of the event if the text at the end was not lying to me... there was a 2/5 and I thought only 2 of 5? And than, what 5? lol
I felt very confused... I think I lost the first time, but won others... but I don't really know... the thing told me "you failed" but than the game continued and I won? Not really sure what happened!
I managed to understand the mechanic after some tips were given, especially the one about the "i"s.
Overall this game has a very good mechanic and a very nice/weird/otherwordly vibe to it that I enjoyed a lot! I even think that the confusion added to the atmosphere of the game!
This is a great game and very artistic!
Keep up this beautiful work!
Cheers!
Thanks for the positive feedback.
"2 of 5" refers to the ending. There are 5 endings and you got #2. To get the endings where you are revealed information, you have to win at least all the games except the first and last one ( the first game doesn't count since it's supposed to be a training round, the last one is meant as a challenge ). Then other endings involve not winning any game or winning only part of the total.
Super interesting and unique, I liked the narrative, art, and the innovative game. Really incorporated the theme well and was a pleasure to play.
This is such a cool game! Took me longer than I dare to admit to figure out what I was meant to do, but once i did, I've enjoyed it a lot!! I also love the look and feel of it! With respect to that, one strange issue: The first time I played, i distinctly remember the sounds of the game, but when i played it again there was no sound. I've clicked on the sound a couple of times, but no change. It's annoying because i was quite impressed by it.
Also, i think i found a bug. At some point, in a round that, if i remember correctly, there's 3 tokens of each, and shortened turns, after taking the opponent's last token i was left all alone. The turns kept running for both purple and yellow, but I couldn't click on my token anymore. There's a screenshot.
If you have any ideas about the sound, let me know --may well be just a Windows issue that will, as usual, fix itself by turning it off and on again, lol. If that's the case, i'll let you know.
Very clever and fun game!!
Sorry for the late reply, I was busy for most of the day with real life stuff.
I checked the code to see if I could find what caused the "infinite game bug", and I think I found it. The fixed version should be uploaded soon.
About the sound, the game has a pause menu that can be entered by pressing the "escape" key or the right mouse button. There should be a button for muting/unmuting there. The game stores the sound configuration on a file, maybe some paranormal activity messed with the data in said file and changed the sound value to "muted". Try checking the button, it should have the same look as in this image if the sound is active. If not, press it and see if that fixes the sound problem.
Yes, just realized that. I think i assumed that the X symbol on the audio was to cancel it!!! :D
Thanks for the reply! Looking forward to the bug fix, although there's still a lot of playability without it.
Ok, let me know if the "infinite game bug" happens again. I'm curious about it since it never happened to me while playtesting the full game.
Played it a couple more times and haven't found that bug at all. Thanks for the fix!!! Is it just me that feels a very Lovecraftian vibe when playing this game? Love it!!!
Very nice game! The art and sound make me feel like i'm in a stress dream. I had to restart the game to figure out the rules, the second time reading them made more sense. Very clever use of the theme and the narrative was fun to follow. Nice!
