I'm not sure if I understood all of the mini games, but it was a very fun play. The mix of cute art and horror was great. The timed dialogue was fun to pick and really puts you on the spot, and I'm pretty sure I survived in the end? I really like these types of "dating" horror games and would love to see an expanded version after the jam.

Holy craperoni–I know first dates can be bad but goddamn, did not expect the stabby axe-murderer.

Really awesome gameplay! I like the stressful time mechanics and the cute art! It was also really fun to try and guess different dialogue options as well as survive the various attempts at murder. Somehow, I survived on my first try! Hooray!

Is the plot that the main character is over anxious and constantly thinks the date is going to kill Her or am I misinterpreting?

Here's my playthrough of your game! It's at the 16:35 mark of this video. Hope I got a good ending in it.

love the overall aesthetic, especially how the music scales according to intensity — props to the audio team there, but everyone did a fantastic job!

Wow, what a game! The art was amazing, and things got pretty tense as soon as my date pulled out their weapon and tried to murder me! I also noticed that in my multiple playthroughs of this game, I had to pick the correct choice after the first mini-game, or I would increase my chance of getting a bad ending, which I believe is the screen where the player runs away from the date. Instead, I got the ending where the player character and the date hold hands with each other, so I think everything went well despite the...difficulties I faced.

Excellent jam submission!

This was a crazy experience, I was so confused but in a good way, I loved it. I could never guess what would come next, I'm not sure what the reward/penalization of the minigames were, if any, but still very interesting and unique. Everything makes sense later and I love that.

Also lovely art and great sound design, felt really overwhelmed along with the main character. Great job, great game <3

This was really fun! I especially liked how the music slowly comes apart, that really added to the overall mood.

Developer

Thank you!

The art style is beautiful and the storytelling is really engaging.
I especially loved the map mechanic — huge props for that idea!
The background, animations, and music are all top-notch — definitely recommend trying it out!

Cons:
It wasn’t very clear how to continue at the start since the button blends into the background,
and the Russian roulette part felt a bit unresponsive.

I'm not a big fan of this genre, but I love it when people draw art for their games. It's always very unique and cool. Well done!

Really fun game, I really loved the artstyle, and I lost my mind when the map of the cofee shop was inside a skull. I really liked that.

Thank you so much! Our artists poured out their hearts into the project!

Loved the mini games! Very creative. Good writing as well. Great work!

Thank you! We tried our best to make a story somewhat cohesive with the theme and the minigames haha.

Glad you loved the writing. I loved your game btw!

No idea what was going on and I struggled to click the gun, but the vibes were great and the music was banging so I'm here for it!

Definitely one of the more creative visual novel submissions. You can even play Russian Roulette!

Developer

Thanks so much! The Russian Roulette idea was definitely a risk to implement but we're glad it somehow worked out!

I love this psychopathic twink I’d let him kill me with an axe <3

This is the highest praise an artist can receive. Glad you liked him!

This is a cool concept executed nicely. I love the visuals. But I got stuck at the gun scene (truth/lies) as I couldn't figure out which input to use or how to make it move forward. Please check out my jam game Reporter Rex: The Haunted Theatre

I lovedddd this!! The super cozy vibes of the cafe turn dark so quick!! I think I was able to get the good ending, and loved all the little minigames and dialogue changes!

I love how it all truly goes from 0 to 100 real fucking quick. Actually took me by surprise too a lot, first seeing anyone be willing to code visual novel-type of game on Unity, but then all the fun twist. Left me pretty fully and well confused, which is all positive. My only real gripe was that the timer were too short, as a slow reader I was set for a real panic, but I suppose, that is the purpose for the quick time even timers like these, I just found myself bit frustrated in the axe-minigame because I didn't get to read the prompt at all before failing like five times. Besides that and some need for proof reading, I do think this was a fun experience, really a good twist for date-simulator. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, and these critiques are all super valid! Some of things like timings can definitely be tuned better looking back, and minigames overall can definitely be executed cleaner. Overall I'm glad you enjoyed!

Super cool concept, love the idea of having to guess what missing words are from just context clues and no other hints. The gameplay also feels really polished, and I liked the art and story, really amazing work for one week :) I'm not sure if my dialogue choices mattered at all, but think it would be really nice to expand the mechanic and have different consequences depending on how well you understood the conversation.

This is such a cool VN like wtf. Idk if this is a unique concept or not (I dont like or play VNs) but seriously I love the mechanics of trying to guess what your date is saying. As well as the witty responses you can just slap out (to your own detriment). Y'all have such interesting VFX and SFX for the dialogue sequences, and I love the just downright confusing minigames that happen (SO COOL BTW).

I will say, the pacing is a little weird. The story just gets right into it from the start, which isnt bad, but I expect a VN to like set some kind of setting before hitting me with the gritty spooky stuff. On that note, while playing through, I kinda don't know exactly what I'm aiming to do. Which is a correct answer? what isn't? Which may be intended, that's just my experience.

I'm glad it kinda kept playing even though I think I failed like each of the minigames horribly LOL. The art is chefs kiss mwah, so good. I love the date's sprite, they're so cute, and the background details letting me know I f'd up we're a great idea. The ending credits screen was the cherry on top ❤️😭.

Really unique and interesting experience, great work to everyone on your team!
