Easter Egg Challenge
You have to add 3 special vehicles to the tower to trigger it:
1. Cop car (on the left side, when you see the street)
2. Ship (on the left-bottom side of the screen- on the water, when your tower is about 60 meters)
3. Plane- easy to spot when your tower is big enough. Circles the tower

Fun tower-building style game!

It was enjoyable to stack everything up and try to get as high as possible while racking up points. Also a good game idea for just some quick sessions. Easy to understand, hard to master 😄.

Controls mostly worked well, though in some sessions I couldn’t quite align the object properly and it cost me a lot of time and I had just refreshed and restarted.

Didn’t manage to hit a top score, but it was fun trying! The leaderboard definitely helps trigger that competitive drive😄.

The low-poly visual style worked well, and the audio was surprisingly chill, despite me stressing out while trying to stack everything just right 🎵. The SFX fitted the gameplay.

Theme—check ✅

A fun and solid jam entry. Nice job! 💪

I really like this game! it reminds me of donut county, but I had an issue where W and S didn't do anything

Developer(+1)

That's strange, I never had that issue. Were you holding an object when pressing W or S? It only lifts a held object.

Anyway, thanks for playing!

Submitted

I was holding an object, and it worked at first but it eventually stopped working, could just be my computer, I was having input issues on some other games to.

It's very original how the author decided to play with the theme. Of course, using everything as a resource isn't a super new idea, as it's a bit cliché, but this game has a unique way of presenting it, even adding a leaderboard, nicknames, and a wide variety of items that can be used. I also want to mention the pleasant 3D visuals and the enjoyable music. It would be great if, in the future, if the game is going to be developed, they add multiplayer, allowing people to gather in one game and compete for speed and points in real-time. The only downside is that the object controls and the mechanics of lifting them up are a bit inconvenient. I think it would be more user-friendly if the mechanics of lifting an object were tied to the mouse wheel. Overall, the game is great and definitely worth checking out!

Submitted

Really unique but simple concept. And fits very well with the theme. My only complaint would be that sometimes picking up an asset just makes the whole asset jitter and disappear all over the place, I like the idea behind it as it adds some playful mechanic, but atm it feels like sometimes it's just behaving in an unnatural way. I think it would be more fun if the physics of it all were a bit less finicky. So I could actively make the decision to pick up this building on this spot and have gravity move and place it like such.

Nonetheless, I enjoyed the experience. The sound and vfx fit with the wackiness of it all

Developer

The jittery physics is definitely something I noticed, and as for now, I have two possible explanations.

Either I messed up some settings, or unity doesn't like, when there are physics objects of very different scales in one scene. Again- right now I have no idea- this kind of game was a first for me :)

As for the sound- omg, thank you for noticing. I have a feeling (and some comments from other jams) that suggest, the sounds in my previous games were mid at best. This time I spent more time on this part, and apparently people notice :D

Thanks for playing!

Wacky concept that was a blast to play. Really like that it starts in a sandbox, like a kid stacking a tower up. Theme was on point since you really could use just about anything. Also love the leaderboard!

Your devlog was also on point. We'll try to follow your other work :)

Great job!

Developer(+1)

My kids building towers out of stuff were (probably an obvious) inspiration for this game.

As for the leaderboard, it serves a dual purpose. First one is obvious- it provides the players with a tool to tell how well they did. Some of the more competitive ones won't stop playing, until they get a score near the top of the leaderboard.

The other one is for me :) Each game I release with a leaderboard has only a few scores at the start. Mine, and possibly some friends that saw my game before the release. If the new players can beat them- that means the game is well designed. After all, the original scores were achieved by someone who had the most practice with the game. If the new players land scores that are much lower than mine, that probably means I overcomplicated the game, or didn't explain the rules well enough.

This one I'm seriously proud of. Not only I got kicked out of the top spot just a couple of hours into the jam (and then out of top five within 24 hours), but the top two players kept returning to the game, to beat each other, and getting scores I didn't think were possible!

Submitted

Man… THIS IS CRAZY ADDICTIVE! You clearly knew that player competition is always a win!

I ended up getting way too into it and now I’m sitting at 4th place… :)

The only issue is that the controls are honestly a bit weird and kind of awkward. It was hard to place objects precisely — the cursor at the bottom helped a little, but was pretty much useless in practice.
Really, the only downside is the control system itself.

But hey — it takes skill and focus to get any kind of result, and that’s awesome!

Developer(+1)

First- congrats on the 200 meter tower!

I messed the controls a bit, so that it was a bit harder to get points like that, but you did it anyway! Normally I'd say something like "how 'bout you go for the top score", but these two guys are seriously hardcore. I didn't know those kind of points were even possible!

Thanks for playing!

A good one here!

The SFX and music fit very well and the game was super engaging, the VFX were nice and you nailed the theme! All I would do is make it so that there are more props to the right as well as forward when the camera zooms out and make some UI contrast improvements. And maybe make the player’s grabs less finicky.

Developer(+1)

Yeah! You slapped that plane in there at the end :D

If I had more time, I would probably add more props, and prettify the UI (i guess UI never looks great in my games).

As for the grab- too precise grab made the game too easy, so I messed it up a bit. Also- two of the top places on the leaderboard have almost 300m towers, so apparently you can beat the messy controls!

Anyway- thanks for playing, and glad you liked it!

Submitted

This game reminded me of Katamari but then with a tower building twist, I like it! The controls can be a bit clunky at times but maybe that adds to the challenge.
I guess with more time you could go even more extreme with a super tiny start and a massive earth scale at the end.

Developer

Yeah, there should be a genre Katamari-like :)

Clunkiness of controls is caused by a larger swing angle. When it was smaller it was too easy to rake a huge points easily. Then again, apparently two guys are building almost 300m towers anyway :)

Submitted

Pretty cool idea and interpretation of the theme.

The controls seemed a bit weird. Maybe the "cursor" should just be where you are pointing at instead of being on a plane which you control the height of?

Developer(+1)

This game was a bit of an experiment for me, so I guess there's a lot of things I could have done differently. I tried a couple of ways, and stuck with the one that worked.

Submitted

Cool game, fits amazingly with the theme and is pretty satisfying to play

Developer

Thanks for kind words!

I loved the idea of smooshing everything together!

The game music makes this epic!

The drag and drop is a bit wonky and I wish I had some control over the camera!

The end screen is nice, it gives you an idea how tall tower you made and gives a grand feeling.

Pretty solid game!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

I decided against camera controls, because I didn't have an idea how to balance a game against just looking into distance, and grabbing a skyscraper. For a while, there was a "pickup radius", but I couldn't balance it, so it didn't even get into the devlog :)

Submitted

Not my cup of tea, but I appreciate the originality of the concept.

Developer

There isn't a game that's everyone's cup of tea, and honestly- this game is not really my usual thing, so I'm not even sure if it's my cup of tea! Anyway- thanks for playing!

Best implementation of the theme I have  seen hands down and also just plain fun to play!  Love how the game scales and the violin theme fits perfect. Way to go dude!

Developer

The scaling was something I really wanted to work, and well, seems like it works! Thanks for playing!

Submitted

Nice work!

Developer

Thanks!

Loud speaker: Alert! The neighborhood 5-year-old building a tower again. Evacuate immediately!

This was a fun idea. I had a little trouble putting things on the tower since there was not always room at the top of the screen, but otherwise a solid entry.

Developer(+1)

For most of the time camera moves back *enough* to put another object, but not always. Anyway- glad you liked it!

Submitted

how are people getting these scores bro my best score was 120 after so many tries :(

really good game tho good job 👍

Developer(+1)

My tactic is to place a car, grab a table, and then the house (or umbrella, if you dont see the house yet). Then go for as many apartament blocks as you can :)

Submitted

Wow the game is very good and applies perfectly to the theme, the idea is very original, and its very fun to play, everything looks great and is very entertaining to play, it's awesome!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it!

Submitted

This is so addictive! Amazing concept, really simple but effectively implemented. And the music and sound just make everything so much better! Great job, loved playing this :)

Developer(+1)

Big thanks for playing! Glad you liked it!

The game was really nice! the use of theme is amazing and the polishing is good as well. I would say to add a scrollbar to the leaderboard because I want to see myself.( my score was too low lol)

Developer

Thanks! I'm seriously impressed by some of the scores in there. I didn't expect that my score was gonna be kicked out of the top 3 on the first day :)

Submitted(+1)

I agree with everything that was written good here about this game, I spent, it seems, more than an hour in it and got to the 7th place. The music, the sounds, and the idea are all very well done. But still, I'll write about some of the flaws that I found while I was playing.

1) Many people have written about physics, so I don't see the point in staying too long, it just happens to be a pity for a car or a house that is stuck in the ground.

2) In the leaderboard, the "back" or "restart" button closes the nickname of one of the participants. It seems to be a minus, but at the same time it worked for me as an additional motivator not to be closed by the button.

3) Sometimes, when I put up the building exactly at the moment when the time was running out, my score became just 8 or something like that instead of 148. Perhaps the last size of the delivered object was taken into account, I'm not sure.

But for all that, I really really liked it. Thank you for creating this game.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Especially for such a long time :D

For the physics- I noticed unity behaves better, when the physics objects are of similar scale. Since my game has toy cars, and skyscrapers, it got wonky fast :) I feel your pain- for the big points you want to get that house early :)

As for the leaderboard- that's an oversight on my part. I had only 3 people to test the game, so the leaderboard never got very long. It downloads top 20 scores, and doesn't even display them :p

As for the scoring bug- I am totally aware it exists, but couldn't replicate it. It seems like the tower measuring component gets disabled, but I couldn't identify where it happens.
