"The Blind Hunt" won't start. Is this a bug? Or am I missing something?
They are the pre configured "teams", I think You can set them up on the "follower" screen (the 2 swords icon). Once you hit a certain level, you can have one squad get beat up and get another squad while the first one heals (using only healing stuff on yourself). At least that's how I see it for now. Haven't played with it yet.
I truly enjoyed the game—it feels much more alive compared to others in the genre. I’ve spent over a day making money and improving my stats, something that doesn’t usually happen to me with other titles. I also really like the missions; they feel well-aligned with the world that’s been built.
I just have one question. In the mission The Secret Garden, I wasn’t entirely clear about the consequences of my final decision—whether I choose to expose everything I discovered there or not. What political effects would that have on the world?
One of the things I love about the game is how every choice seems to impact the stats related to corruption, control, or freedom. I tried looking for answers on the wiki but couldn’t find a clear explanation. So, what happens if you expose The Secret Garden? What are the consequences if I play as a ruthless slaver and mercenary?
From what I understand, the group aims to shift the city’s power dynamics—placing women in full control. In that case, perhaps it would be wiser to destroy them—haha.
I’m not sure if that questline is already closed, or if there are plans to expand it in future versions based on the decision made—perhaps with new events, dialogues, or unlockable missions. In any case, I’ll make a save just in case.
Once again, thank you for developing such a vibrant and personal game. It’s clear that you put a lot of effort and attention to detail into it.
Best regards,
Thank you! I'm very happy you're enjoying MoR.
Not exposing 'The Sisters Lesano' means there's a 1% chance of a reccuring event with four possible outcomes that affect Control (negative) and/or Corruption (+). In return, you're given a monthly delivery of Lesano elixirs.
Exposing them will terminate all chances of those events to execute, and give you a small standing boost with the Republic.
Note that Standing will become a much more valuable reward once I implement Faction missions (instead of donations) in future updates.
Wow, it's really great that you want to add even more depth to the game. I can't even imagine how many hours of work this must mean for you.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who appreciates every update and detail you add to the game.
Thank you so much for replying — that's exactly what I wanted to know so I could leave my playthrough as it is and see what happens, haha. If the game is already interesting, with what you mentioned about the faction missions, it’s going to be even better. Best wishes and much success — thank you for your work
I like the game however the endgame gets really grindy with all the slaves you need to capture. I got everything purchased (all investments, both buildings in Redhaven, the purchased mine and the lumber mill). It was a ton of grind to capture all the slave workers needed to work these places. Now I'm looking at the New World Order quest and seeing the 1800 soldier requirement and I want to tear my hair out. There needs to be a way to bulk purchase slaves if the numbers are going to be this high. Perhaps when you go to the town hall to purchase armies you can actually assign them to your factions rather than it just be an influence purchase.
It's a good design to have the limiting resource shift over time, whether it be money. skill, or NPC affection. However, once you get to the end game it's all about slave bodies and the grind is getting to be too repetitive.
Would it make sense (it would to me, but I kind of understand it might not be ideal) to have the background of the page to a "story" NPC in another colour? Now that I have the sawmill (might go for a farm soon) and need to send some guards over, I keep checking the wiki to see if a certain NPC (that will be gone forever) is a story NPC or just a random fish off the street.
First of all, just want to say I really love this game! I've spent more time playing it than any other game I've found on itch. One thing I've struggled with though is the balance of economy. I want to enjoy trying different methods of making money out - teaching, gambling, factory working ,etc, but the problem is that they are way out of balance when compared to hunting slaves. Capturing and selling slaves far outclasses any other method for making money. In a single day with a single batch of 6 captured slaves and you make more from just hunting and selling slaves than you can from 3 weeks of teaching! The slave hunting game play is balanced pretty well in terms of the pace of the game that it allows, but the other methods are way undertuned. Maybe an area for growth would be some sort of minigame loop around teaching that results in greater rewards when you're successful.
Factory.
1 factory brings up to 40,000 revenue.
Capturing slaves is the start of the game.
Other methods of earning garbage.
Taverns and prostitution bring money but little. Although thousands of 10 from them can be received per day.
But because of this, you have to spoil the characters. lower willpower or increase corruption.
By the way, it is strange that with high corruption, wives do not begin to change. And in general it is sad that the NPS do not start a relationship with each other.
Plant, university funny pennies. Plant for the sake of charisma and stealth only. Why the university is not clear at all. The title of + 400 coins from teaching is especially pleasing. It's just ridiculous.
Hello again! I just wanted to congratulate you on another great update to the game. I can’t believe how much time you dedicate to giving us such a vibrant world—literally, you can do anything here, and that’s super cool.
I also stopped by to ask you a slightly curious (and maybe a bit morbid) question about something I might be able to do in the game. I've noticed that the game gives you a warning if you feed your household NPCs too much food. I’ve never pushed that limit myself, but now I’m wondering: is there a visual change to the NPC’s appearance if they gain a lot of weight from being overfed for a long time, or is it only reflected in their stats? Any plans to officially add that tag to the game in the future, or is it just something mentioned for now?
Once again, thank you so much for all your effort and care. Believe me, it really shows when someone puts passion into things and pays attention to the details. Congratulations on such an amazing project!
At the present there are no "visual" changes to the NPCs (except some pregnancies). Not sure if there ever will be, since all images have to be rendered individually.
I have an NPC (Astrid actually) that need to be on 1 ration a day to not go very fat.
You might want to give the game "Kenshi" a look. I love the game, even though the graphics are a little bit old by now. But it's real time 3D and you can "shape" NPCs from very skinny (from passed out starving actually) to well fed to super buff and muscular. But no "fat" body types. I don't think there are mods for "overweight" NPCs, but given that Kenshi has a huge mod community, I wouldn't be overly surprised too. Actually, if you take the "sex" part aside, it's got a lot of common ground with Masters of Raana, depending on how you play it. Kenshi doesn't exactly have a story. It has stories and NPCs with their own stories but ultimately, it's a huge sandbox with no rules at all.
There is a Kenshi 2 in the works, but might be a few years... all the dev says is "It's ready when it's ready". The original took 10 years (plus 2 years of "ideas") to be finished, but it's a masterpiece.
Oh, really? Thank you so much for your response! The game is huge and vast, and at some point, resources become difficult or scarce to obtain depending on political events. That’s why I didn’t want to spend too much on that curiosity I had. XD Thanks a lot! I'll take a look at the game you mentioned. It's on Steam, right?
Kenshi is a great project. I played with pleasure and for quite a long time. Huge world (and beautiful! which is not often found in games. He has a special beauty. And variety!), Base construction, characters, freedom of action. Personally, I only missed quests. So I met a character from whom my sister was taken into slavery - it would seem that in one of the camps I should find her. And she's not...
In general, I love long games. I enjoyed playing games like CS3, Kenshi, Factorio. The last 2 even bought (CS3 expensive with a bunch of dlc).
This game attracted the same long gameplay (I hate sessions. Like to develop a character, create your own clan, etc.); a description of the lore and stories of the characters.
What the game lacks (in my opinion):
1. More critical/global events along the lines of Dengi or the Aria coup d'état.
2. More interactions with factions. At the moment it is just a money receiver. As well as their quantities. With different interests and promoting their interests.
3. Quests. The gradual increase is good.
4. There is not enough variation for the home. For example, buildings in the yard. There is no choice as such. In the house itself, too - a library or a bedroom. I don't build bedrooms, libraries are also not really needed - as a result, the entire 2nd floor is occupied by the owner with 1 room.
5. Classes for house members. At the moment, there are only 2 classes (globally). This is a factory (until the resources in the market run out) then prostitution. I would like the possibility of building my own hospitals, schools, factories, newspapers, etc. I don't like turning my house into a brothel of prostitutes. After running out of resources in the market, the number of house members usually decreases sharply.
6. Children are good. But I would like to continue their story. Career, interaction. Opportunities for children to create their homes and their development (not about deducting money). Someone became a bandit, someone a politician, someone organized his expedition, and someone decided to remove his father (player) and take his place.
7. Corruption should affect the likelihood of betrayal. If the wife gives birth to a child, then whose is he a mystery. As well as the lack of relations between the NPS.
I understand that this is an erotic game. But erotica is more smiling here. When I teach NPS medicine, they show a picture of a man in shorts or a girl in a yoga pose. Or the recruitment of the captured 4 men and show a girl in chains. I don't know who how, but I personally don't perceive the game as erotic. The author got something different. When one complements the other and everyone sees what suits him. Someone slaveholding and erotica; someone building their clan and developing it.
I'm more or less on the same page as you. A bit of naughtiness if nice, but the game has to work as a game.
My all time favourite is probably Rimworld. It's just fun that keeps on giving and if the game isn't enough, there are so many mods to add to it. But developing a character is probably my favourite aspect. I even like the sims for that same reason. Even in football games I just go the long way. I used to have xbox game pass (it's just ridiculously expensive now so I just gave up) and would play Fifa/EA games. I wouldn't buy them, but I would play them as they are part of the gamepass library. I would have the same team for a year or two, sometimes I would even skip the entire new version of the game so I could keep the same team. I often don't have too long to play, so one or 2 football matches sometimes are nice, as I have trouble only playing half an hour of Rimworld, MoR or some other "long" game.
In MoR I kind of ended up helping and collecting people. And after some time, I released everyone from slavery and kept them as paid servants. But the game needs more content. The Dengi Invasion is a disappointment. It's basically a long fight that you can't really win. Every time you put money into the republic, the Dengi seem to grow stronger. So you need a crap load of money. The fighting option is ridiculously hard. But there is nothing to do. There is no "quest", no path, no nothing. Needs a lot more content.
As for the rest of the game, more sandbox, more house management. A functioning economy (not just make the same guns and sell them at the same place). And the factions are just way too bland. I truly love MoR, but can't quite see myself playing 1000+ hours like I did Rimworld. But still in development, so let's see what the future brings. I hope it makes it to steam someday. Not a complaint, but to me, this is not a monthly subscription worthy game nor do I even have a patreon account, or want one.
Best way is to your home neighbourhood and while outside of the home, you will see that you can click the handcuff icon. You can "process" your slaves. When you do that at home (outside) you get a prompt to sell them directly to some buyer for a certain price or you can add them to your home. If you sell, they are gone forever. If you add them to you home, you can then put them to work, train or sell them to the slave markets. Later in the game, you can also send them to other places.
Hi again, a quick question: How can I get the girls to agree to participate in a threesome? I haven't seen that option in past versions. Is it tied to a particular start, a character trait? Corruption, Willpower, devotion to lesbians, or something like that? Some accept, others don't. And I don't know what the factor is that makes them accept or what I have to do to get them to accept.
This game really caught my eye, so much so that I had to write these comments.
He constructed a vast world where various religions and forces engaged in struggles, as well as numerical influences that could affect the entire system. It is evident that the author has put a lot of thought into this game.
What is commendable is that the game runs very smoothly. During the few days I experienced it, I didn't encounter any bugs that I couldn't stand, although the game is still being updated.
I hope this game can be developed more perfectly, especially in terms of details and interaction. Here are a few of my small suggestions:
1. I hopethe movements of NPCs between map scenes can be reflected. For example, LAIKA has gone to work at the grocery store and I can see her there.
2. Add more interactive events. Let the changes in NPC abilities become more concrete because of these interactive events. For example, LAIKA has gone to work at the grocery store. I can't interact with her at home, but I can interact with her at the grocery store. Grocery store work is risky, so it can trigger daily interactions or special interactions. It could be the interaction between me and Laika, or it could be the interaction between Laika and others. And when I click the interaction button (special interaction), we can choose whether to block it or not.
When I like an NPC very much, I naturally want to know where she is and hope to interact with her. One regrettable thing is that when I spent $10,000 to redeem EVELYN from ROO, she was almost crushed to death. And I had thought before that when I went to ROO or EVELYN and there was no particular option, it meant the devastation had not yet occurred......
Any plans to add sexual relations with offspring, for the incest kink people out there? Or for stuff involving under age 18 slaves and such?
added suggestion - Allow important NPCs (story NPCs) to be recoverable. I only recently found out that i could obtain Tori Helm if i had kept her sister Lovisa and i'm fairly certain i sold her to the slave markets many, many in-game days ago. That just feels bad. (fomo pain)
I enjoy this game, but it's severely limited in its potential for male sex slaves. Also, there are free women, so why can't the MC be female? I have a male slave right now with 97 beauty, 80 charisma, 82 copulation, and 70 kissing skill! A perfect future prostitute. Can I put him on the rack? No! Can I corrupt him at all? Not without the Lesana potion, which I would prefer to use elsewhere. In general, attractive male slaves mean nothing, but I really ought to be profiting off of them. I don't care if you never put in intimate scenes for male slave training (that WOULD be awesome but I suspect a lack of interest on your part). I have the male Kim Kardashian in my house, he could be so much more than a guard or a gardener. Please and thank you.
I have a few ideas to expand the Senate for the MC.
Mingle: political discussions on the floor of the Senate, likely a very small Influence &/or Palace increase or decrease, very small possibility of an increase/decrease in Standing with one of the Houses, small (10s) expenditure of funds for amenities (social relaxations - coffee, drinks, mineral baths, etc)
Lobby: backing up your political discussions with lunches, drinks, bribes, etc, increases positive chances and rewards of Mingle, adds a minor (100s) expenditure of funds, while the MC selects topic (Liberty, Corruption, Control, etc) to Lobby, and if a Law gets passed on that topic the MC gets small Influence &/or Palace increase and an increase in Standing with the bill's owning House -- with a small chance of a decrease in Standing with a competing House.
Debate: engaging in official debate on the floor of the Senate in support of another House's bill, increases all the positive and negative chances, rewards and penalties to Influence, Palace & House Standing of Lobby, as well as double the expenditure of funds, also, if a law is passed on the MC's topic there is a small chance that the MC had a full amendment passed on the Law gaining the MC another very small Influence &/or Palace increase as well as Standing increase with the Bill's owning House, and, of course, a chance of a decrease in Standing with one of the competing Houses. This also includes a chance to be invited (MC & Wife/Consort) to dinner at the House that authored the bill. Additionally, who the MC brings to the dinner, and how she is attired, can result in another Influence increase or, if someone other than the Wife (or First Wife) is brought it would be a minor social scandal -- and an Influence penalty. Other social events and social connections could follow from these dinners.
Thanks for a great game!
Just a thought and a desire:
When sending Aria to the rebels the Influence penalty seems to not even be a slap on the wrist considering what happens to other people associated with her. Having an Influence penalty of at least 35,000 (same as her price) seems more than fair -- and a penalty to Palace and Kymanto standing also seems more than reasonable. An all-around loss of Influence and Standing for messing up such an important job so badly seems fair to me -- especially since the rewards later, if successful in rebellion, should make up for it.
As for the desire, I know it is a lot more work, and the demographic (they say) doesn't warrant it, but now that we know where all the White women at, can we have a few more of darker shades? :-)
I would really like to be able to have more than 8 max slaves/followers. The potential for this is huge if you can make it so we can have as many as we want. And there's a bed upgrade by upgrading the dorm room where it said I now have 3 dozen beds. BUT after it said that I don't see how to have more than 8 followers still?
Thank you for replying to me. However, when I go to the NPC menu still I can't see pages to click on. I believe you but maybe its not loading properly? Is there a back door way to load the npc pages? I can see only the first page and then it doesn't let me go to page 2 of npcs, etc. I'm currently using the firefox browsers. When I didn't use firefox browser before it wouldn't show or load game features properly. But now it is showing MOST game features. The only feature I can't see it the npc page numbers.
Is there a fix for this? Without being able to use more than 1 npc page the game hits a wall to no longer be able to progress. :S
I like the idea of expanding the interaction between Traits, and was thinking that there could be a synergy between the Jester, Starlet and Extroverted Traits that could boost the Educator, Performer, Professor and/or Barkeep jobs.
On the negative side, perhaps Submissive, Jaded, and Malcontent could lead to a Depression state, while Dominant, Jaded & Malcontent could lead to a Sadistic state. There are lots of other combinations that could be interesting, especially if there's a further interaction between the new states and the rest of the House.
A game suggestion that I think would be useful is... to have the crafting times change depending on your skill level. Like if I make a knife, a sword, or a crossbow each button click is 30 minutes or so. And its doing the same amount no matter if I have 30 skill or 60 skill. It would make sense to add a feature where the time of crafting per click attempt goes down by a % for each 5 or 10 crafting points. or something like that.
Also, I'd like for the bathing times with harem members to be lowered. You can try to bathe with them to get stamina up to then go do 'spouse time in bed'. But sometimes the bath times use all that up and you don't have any time left. That's why I'd like some of the bath and talking to a girl times be lowered by how much time they take so you can spend more time with more girls per day. OR, you could change it so the amount of time spent with a girl talking or whatever goes down by higher skill level also.
One suggestion for this game that would be really fun to add is if you could somehow make it so it can continually regenerate new quests or new kill/go fetch quests. I don't know if it has this yet. (There is something in the town city council hall where you can go after some bounties, but at the moment playing it I can't tell if those reseed themselves/repeat yet or not.)
I've come to 75 Liberty, 92 Control, 88 Prosperity, 47 Corruption in the 3rd Republic, after being 21 Liberty, 0 Control, 73 Prosperity, 100 Corruption in the 2nd Republic. I've seen a wide range of events and interactions, and am wondering if there are events further along as I bring Liberty to 100 and Corruption to 0 (or try, anyway)?
My only suggestion is once this is done, make a second one and turn it into a 3D/2D game. Like Fable, Fallout, Cyberpunk 2077. The story line is amazing. Love the attention to detail. That being said, I doubt you have hundreds of millions to invest in it so even a Stardew valley theme moving mechanic, with old final fantasy battles and a detailed 3D Graphics for those "ahem" sense would be amazing, I know this would turn into a full and I mean FULL time job but you seem to have a talent. I say freakin do it.
So what's going to happen with Amiee? She has a corruption meter and a affection meter, neither of which go up (Excluding Affection, but it's stuck at 44 for me, this probably came from upgrading their store.) I doubt you can recruit her like her sister, but will anything else happen with her? It seems like an unfinished idea at this point.
I am fairly sure most people would agree that one of the biggest mysteries and most intriguing secrets in the game is The Severance. I hope there will be a quest about uncovering the reasons behind The Severance, attempting to reestablish communications with Earth, and trying to repair the quantum gate. Additionally, it would be a nice bonus if there were also something about trying to establish communications with Atlantica.
This is mostly to quench our curiosity. It doesn't necessarily need to lead to significant gameplay changes. Maybe just implications of how this big reveal/events may change things in the future. A quest like this would also serve as closure/conclusion to the game and may be the "ending" the game needs.
P.S.: To be honest, even if the quantum gate has been shut down, making travel back and forth impossible with our slow spaceships, Alpha Centauri is only a pissing distance away from us on a cosmological scale, being just 4 light-years away. Since radio waves travel at the speed of light, it should be possible to reestablish communication after 4 years (8 years for back-and-forth conversation) if Earth is still there. Unless higher-ups in Raana have decided to keep these reestablished communications a secret for some reason...
A small suggestion: It would be nice if Mae were forbidden from generating with the Secretive trait. As part of Getting Your Bearings, she's something of a tutorial servant and is very likely to be acquired by the player on day 1, and even if you've chosen the Expert Slaver skill class, the Affection and Anger penalties are pretty crippling, and Interrogation is extremely difficult in the early game.
The same might go for some of the other 'difficult' traits, like Addict, Bratty, or Feminist, but I think Secretive is the most pressing.
Also, since the benefits of salaries/allowances scale extremely high (up to $100,000/day according to the wiki, though I think that page is outdated), it would be very helpful if they could be raised or lowered in increments other than $5. Even getting up to $1,000/day for someone like Rebecca or Tuner Jackson requires you to click that button 200 times. I'd suggest that you could either have separate buttons for +/- 5/50/500 (or something similar), or be able to directly select the tier of benefit you want - e.g. Baseline, Tiny Bonus, Small Bonus, etc. up to Imperial, scaling automatically with required salaries for mercenaries.
EDIT: I've only just now noticed that clicking the Salary header does already cycle through $1/5/50/100/500 increments, which is good, but the fact that it took me so long to notice probably indicates that it's not very intuitive, especially as those red-link headers are usually just informative.
Looking through here I found nobody with the same issue I have. I can extract all the other files from the zip file perfectly, except the HTML file. Error: Compression method not supported. I assumed the first time it was a corrupt download, but have downloaded it three times and get the same message.
So... there's areas on the net that tell you how to give healing stims to your followers. But when I tried to do it it wouldn't work. Is that a bug? or do I have to have studied medicine skill to a certain point in the game for it to work? Thanks. Do I need to study medicine first to apply healing stims? To be clear I was trying to heal vaginal damage/wear, not their health. The internet says the heal stim pack is how you do that.
when I go to the npc screen I can see the area to click the button to use a heal stim on them. But for some reason its grayed out and not letting me use it. (I did buy stims and have them.)
I believe there are a few human enemies that respawn infinitely, yes. The forts in Marston Avenue and Stokke Hills should be reoccupied by a fresh group of bandits on a regular if somewhat random basis, the lone freebooter in northwest Watery Eyes is stated to respawn roughly every 72 hours, and there are probably others. As for missions, City Hall probably never runs out of bounties for you to hunt.
There's a wiki at mastersofraana.com that you may find helpful, if you're not already using it.
You know this game is really amazing. I like how you can go in so many directions with very good details and options. But one thing I wish that can be changed is to let your npc girls do more than 1 job at a time. The reason for this is, if you recruit girls as slaves you might want to play where you don't want other guys F--King your 'wives'. So the simplest way to do that would be to let you have more than 1 slave (2+ at a time) work at each job. You could also add more job options to the game other than prostitution. Or even create your own jobs somehow? If there is a way that'd be nice.
I think there could be a lot of potential especially to allow more than 1 follower/recruited girl do the scavenger and hunter jobs especially. This seems reasonable and fun.
I hope someone might have feedback on this.
Please add this. Thanks!
I wanted to ask how much the gambling skill is influenced by your intelligence stat in game? It would make sense that it would. And the game seems to suggest this by some wiki pages say your gambling skill will go up by taking some math courses at the Academy. I hoped someone might be able to confirm it though? And what do you think?
Thank you.
Can you assign maids to process meat? Or another household job (like pantry girl?)? I tried to find this information on my own without posting here but can't find it. If you can't this might be neat if it can be added. Thanks for any feedback on this. And this question applies to other resources also like processing leather/animal skins. (Would be neat to assign a slave to it.)
A hunter with survival skill above 75 automatically processes their daily yields, basically adding rations and leather instead of meat and skins, but they don't seem to touch existing stockpiles of meat and skins. I agree that it would be nice for one of the assignments to process those stockpiles, if one doesn't already - perhaps a skilled hunter could process a few extra units on top of what they brought in that day, or a hunter with no ranged weapon or no ammo could be assigned to processing full-time, or a Pantry Girl with survival skills could process a few units of meat per day.
Is there a way to have some of your workers assigned to artisan stuff like building or making weapons? I think that'd be really neat if there was a way to assign them to crafting. Even if it was slow or whatever I wouldn't care, just ... the fascinating part of this game is you can try out so many things.
In Kymanto Hall, it shows how you can build up reputation/faction to get 3 more slaves in the 2nd tier to be bought. But is there a 3rd tier after that one that you just can't see also that might open after? And does this mean every other faction also if you join and build rep could buy up special characters from also?
There is currently not a third tier to be bought. Once your standing is high enough they become your vassal, adding a portion of their power value to yours. That is how all factions operate, although most cannot be made your vassal at the time. I'm sure that will be added in future updates. As for purchasing slaves from other factions, I don't believe there are any outside of Kymanto and the two slave markets.
If you're asking where the actual bookstore itself is, it's the location labeled "BOOKSTORE" in Whitehaven. The quest begins after you ask the apparently prudish owner of the bookstore why she stocks the terribly obscene Art of Paine II, and her shifty response makes you think something strange is going on. Progress it by assigning a valid girl to the bookstore through her Jobs & Titles menu, under Stores.
It's available right from day 1, so if you're desperate to see the complete introduction text, you can just create a throwaway character and visit the Bookstore.
The $30/day bonus to her Academic Professor pay might make her a little too strong off the bat, so I understand if you decide against it, but it seems to me like Seve Pasztor would be a perfect fit for the Traditionalist trait. The trait is currently quite underused, being given only to the Patreon-exclusive Stacey and the very lategame Arizona, if I understand correctly, and I think it could use a little more representation.
A small thing that's probably more bother than it's worth, but it'd be a neat detail if the Scrap Heap visibly shrank in the Yard screen as you clear it out - one or two extra graphics of a smaller, tidier heap swapped in as the counter runs down. It would also be nice if the Heap was automatically demolished once you've fully searched it.
Acknowledgement of fulfillment of Hopes and Dreams. It would be really immersive to have a slave's fulfillment of their Hopes and Dreams be announced and celebrated through the slave's dialogue --for example, the slave initiates dialogue with acknowledgement and gratefulness, the MC responds with choices of celebratory, encouragement, noncommittal or oppressive responses with possible tag-along events.
So... I bought the Darkmere Mill to get it to produce money hopefully at some point. I have 2 workers that I put in, and 1 NPC I assigned as the foreman. But there's... is this a big? When you go to your economic page and then go to your Business tab under that, it calls it Darkmere Farm instead of Darkmere Mill? Bug or not?
Also its showing me at zero income for this mill/farm whatever, even with 1 foreman and 2 workers going on that page. But when I go to the darkmere map itself it shows there to be production, but not at zero. Not sure why its different? Do you need a minimum number of workers to get it going?
Also when I got to the darkmere mill map and go in there's a slot for guards. But how do I assign guards just for darkmere? I can see how to put an npcs job as a guard in the npc's area under the jobs subtab... but that doesn't actually say that the people I've assigned to guards are guarding darkmere. I have 2 guards and they seem to be guarding the house. It doesn't show 2 guards in darkmere... so how do I assign guards to secondary locations??
You can assign guards and workers through the ACTIONS page of the NPC. Darkmere Mill/Farm produces wood, which you can use or sell. You can also assign guards from the Darkmere Mill page -- up at the top, hover over the little icons and you'll get their info popups.
EDIT: Oops, the little icons on the Mill page won't be there unless you also have Fort Sera. The icons send the guards from Fort Sera if you have guards there (or from the other properties if you own them).
can we please get a chancel quest button
i got stacey early and the very first artifact location was in Silfren woods
i play Ironman/Grimdark/Invasion and already lost 2 high lvl fighters to the pirates and they respawn so fast
there is no chance i can get there the next 100 days
that said
great game, keep up the good work
I thought there might be a few skills you could add to the game to make it more fun to let you do more. Its OK if its really hard to work them up. But an example would be... time management skill (shaves time off activities you do. Like level 1 saves you 5% off time used doing something then tack on 1% saved for every x levels). There could be other skills too. Do you intend to add more monsters or magic to this game? You could add fishing for npc slave/helpers as a job; that's 1 skill. I don't yet know if you've added farming skills to the game but I noticed you can buy a ranch later so maybe you already have that(?).
You could add more merchant quests and merchant storyline to the game also. Like XP or money earned for doing travel contracts and bring items to different shops in various places of the maps. Like kill quests only instead of kills make stuff. And merchant levels and make merchant skills into skills you can acquire also. You could add several merchant skills... 1 for discounts, 1 for upselling or marketing, etc.
...
You don't technically have to add this. Your game is already good. But its fun to keep doing things and keep seeing what you'll add.
A slight discrepancy: Donating captures to Fort Sera directly only increases Power above 100 if the capture is one of a few types of elite fighter, but adding them to your household and then donating them through the Actions tab always increases Power, even if they're a feeble halfwit druggie with no combat skill. Perhaps a similar condition could be added there?
Currently, the RPG Night hangout can only be played through once, and then it's just a greyed-out option for the rest of the game. I'd suggest that it should be made repeatable by unsetting $rpgnight at the end of the campaign, though for balance reasons that'll probably require its yields to be reduced and capped.
You need Science over 100 and the laptop from the mastersphere, as well as the companion techie (make sure they are top-notch fighter also)-- at least, that's what it took for me. Sorry, I didn't write down the passcode. This is an example where Grimdark needs to make multiple routes to victory because this is one of the encounters that forces the player to develop in a specific way or lose the game.
Hi GrimDark! First off, I just want to say how much I appreciate the work you’re doing on Masters of Raana. It’s one of the most ambitious Twine/SugarCube projects I’ve ever seen, and the depth of worldbuilding and mechanics really shows the amount of care you put into it.
I wanted to share a few friendly accessibility suggestions, coming from the perspective of players who rely on screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, etc.). Twine can be very accessible, but some design patterns need small tweaks to work well with assistive tech. None of these are urgent — just things that could help more players enjoy the game smoothly.
Here are some ideas that could make MoR much more screen-reader-friendly:
🌟 Small but high-impact fixes
• Use real <button> elements for choices
Some interactable elements in MoR are spans/anchors styled as buttons. Screen readers don’t recognize them as clickable.
SugarCube already supports <button>, and switching to those makes everything keyboard and SR friendly automatically.
• Add ARIA landmarks
Just wrapping key areas like this helps a lot:
•
<main role="main"> for the passage text
•
<nav role="navigation"> for menus
•
<aside> for the stats panel
This lets screen reader users jump around easily.
• Make sure elements can be tabbed/focused
A lot of games hide focus outlines or use non-focusable elements.
Just allowing normal focus and keeping a visible outline makes navigation smoother.
• Announce new passages
When Twine swaps passages, screen readers don’t automatically know a change happened.
Adding a small aria-live="polite" div that updates with the passage name would fix that nicely.
🌟 Larger QoL improvements
• A simple “Access Mode” toggle
A mode that:
•
turns off animations
•
disables hover-to-see tooltips
•
linearizes the UI
•
reveals info that’s normally hidden
•
uses only text menus
This would make MoR much easier for blind/low-vision players.
• Text-based map option
The visual map is cool, but a text version like:
North Market — shops, guilds
Industrial Ring — crafting, machinery
Old City — nobles, temples
Underways — criminal, shady work
would be super helpful.
• Click-to-expand descriptions instead of hover
Perks, traits, items, clothing, and NPCs often use hover boxes.
Replacing these with button-based collapsible sections works great in screen readers.
• Stat changes & dice rolls announced
If stats or dice results also update an aria-live region (“Agility increased to 7”), blind players get immediate feedback just like sighted players.
💛 Final note
Not expecting all or even most of this — MoR is a huge project already, and you’re doing fantastic work. These are just suggestions that could widen the game’s audience and make it more enjoyable for players who rely on assistive tech.
Thanks again for creating such a rich, fascinating world.
If you ever decide to explore accessibility improvements and want feedback/testing, I’d be happy to help
I think the game needs a bit more "random" and "re-spawnable" content. Thinks that can easily be programmed to be repeatable every x to y days.
Some semi generic quests (or maybe not so generics) to have around the city from vendors, factions or even on the streets. Slave hunts, bandit "clearing" (yes, we already have bandits occupying places but needs a bit more "story"), animal clearing... we need more tribal content too. The odd slave showing at the doorstep just offering themselves for food, a slave vendor with a cart full of slaves (not auction, just "gallery" sales") that also shows up at the door with maybe some "exotic" slaves like top tribals or slaves from elsewhere on Raana and he comes to real connoisseur such as ourselves (they won't be cheap, but they will be good).
Maybe a random "new" gang showing up once and a while to attack the house or maybe kidnap one of our own. Some requests from out own people to help family members or friends being held captive or something like that, and some with a possible new recruit. Also, random street urchins asking for food or gold in the streets that just come up to us if we are influent and have a good (or bad) reputation. More content from the orphanage like them offering slaves that turn 18 or something like that. Freeing the slaves at Fort Sera or transferring them to the house (it would be nice if they were actually NPCs too or at least like the bar girls). Maybe the odd parent selling their v*rgin daughter for the esteemed gentleman.
Most of these random quests could also be triggers after certain influence or power values are reached, and could be easily reproduced with random non scripted NPCs. I think it would give the world a bit more life.
Also, why only one bed slave? I like both twins the same :D
The dev already explained the quarantine is probably due to him getting a VPN and icth io thinking it was a new IP. Well, technically I guess it was.
The game is available right here on itch io, so you don't need to go elsewhere, unless you want to support, then there are other platforms.
Ultimately, this is an adult game and some search engines are more prude than others. I don't usegoogle search for anything anyway.
