Had a great time running around snapping pics. Thanks!

I'm jealous of how good this game looks. Even with 5 people this is an impressive amount of work for such a short time it's rare that we see games with this level of an detail to there assets which only makes me wonder how much more could have been done with a longer time limit.

Parroting what others have stated the character does feel far too heavy for what would be expected which can make some of the jumps a little annoying to make especially when trying to approach an angled ledge which seemed to carry the gravity force making me go faster than desired. Some hitboxes where also a little inconsistent, some objects I thought I could pass through I couldn't and others I'd get stuck on, particularly the large leaves which we had to jump over the stem for really no reason.
Only other complaint was the sensitivity of the camera. Had to go out and turn down my mouse settings to get it close to comfortable as the slightest touch sent it spiraling around the character otherwise.

I hope you all have been able to take some rest because damn do you all need it after this. Keep up the amazing work hope to see more in the future!

This is incredible especially for a jam entry.  I love the art, audio and the photo taking mechanics the best.  One small thing to improve would be the platforming, which feels a little sticky, and being able to "auto-step-up" on small parts of the terrain, eg. the steps/low profile rocks etc.

Wow, as many others I am in awe, your teams artists are really stealing the show here. Great work, congrats, the the characters are especially pretty. The movement is pretty janky, very janky. The character gets stuck in most steps/slopes, don't know if you're using a CharacterBody3D and if the character is a capsule. Also there's a bunch of invisible walls that make navigating the world a bit puzzling at times. Nothing major though, the experience still is very enjoyable. Initially I had no idea about what to do, but after playing around with what I had I quickly figured it out and put the pieces together. 3 was my favorite pose (I only knew because of the comments). Here's my mandatory screenshot.

Very well done, great work team! The artists and animators are PRO! Gotta follow them all. The sound design was also very very pleasant.

I see that everyody is sending screenshots with just the same one selfie pose, mmmh 馃

Developer(+1)

It鈥檚 not obvious that 1-6 changes poses :/

Developer

that's what we need to change together with some other points that aren't clear

I had no idea what was going on but I won! I REALLY love the stylitzed art but sadly the movement felt kinda clunky

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah we're already looking to improve some stuff but this really helps :D

Congrats with the first submission!

The game finally run on Windows after the update.

The art-style is gorgeous and the amount of work you put in the concept art and modeling in just a week is unbelievable!

I think the weakest spot is the movement. Specifically 2 things:

- the jumping: the character feels too heavy. Considering that the game has lot's of platforming the short and fast jumps are frustrating to deal with. And since your character is also a bird, you could play on that theme and make it glide down a little instead of just dropping on the ground.

-  there were lot's of "invisible walls" or blocks the character get stuck. For instance the middle of the leaves or the stone platforms on the ground. Maybe it has something to do with the character's collision shape IDK

Both the 2D art in the main menu and the 3D character and environment art are gorgeous! The crow and beast were nicely animated, too, which breathed life into them. It didn't run well on my Linux laptop, though. I had a graphical issue where I could see my desktop through the game, but only in certain areas/directions, like a shader was making the whole game window transparent. I'd agree with other reviews that the jump and movement could use some more attention, too. This was a really pleasant experience though, and I plan to try it again on a stronger computer.

Congratulations to the team on you first submission to GWJ! I really hope to see more in the future.

That's a crazy amount of assets for 9 days!! The game look super nice! I felt like the character movement was a bit jittery and I kept getting stuck on random things. I found 2 of the POIs by going left and right but I couldn't find the third one. I did se the beast by clipping the first-person mode through the wall.

Amazing that you managed to make this in just nine days! The crows is very cute and I love the whole gameplay concept. The jump as a bit janky but that's not an issue, I think.

Fantastic! When I first started it up I was blown away by the visuals. It felt so cohesive and well beyond what most ever submit in just a 9 day jam!

Developer

Thank you so much for your comment! :D that makes us veeeery happy

The crow and the beast were really cute and awesome. Vibrant game with selfies :)

Might be one of the jam with the best incredible visuals! I love how you design and animate all the elements.

I was given short notice to participate, and I had a couple of free afternoons to contribute what I could with my sound and music. It was a great experience. I hope you like it!

Very inviting and good looking! As soon as I got in, I wanted to roam around and get lost in the world. The leaves platform area got me retrying a few times, but other than that the experience was smooth.

Got to run the game after the update. What a fantastic entry. The visuals are incredible, it's unbelievable that you did something like this for the jam!

Controls are also snappy. I just had some issues with collisions, where the crow would get stuck in geometry I thought I should be able to just pass through, but it was just some minor stuff and it never kept me from playing the game.

Loved how you followed the theme. An expedition doesn't necessarily means conflict, so the idea of a Pokemon Snap like game where you explore for clues and take pictures of them is just lovely.

Congratulations on a great entry.

Couldn't start the game as well. Shame the SS's were looking great.

Developer

Hi, we updated the game with a fix, let us know if you still have issues.

This looks amazing! For some reason though the .exe keeps crashing for me (won't start.)

Could you get the log file by any chance? Under %APPDATA%\Godot\ there鈥檚 app_userdata/<my_project_name>/logs

Submitted

What's the project name? Unfortunately I don't see any folder for Crow's Expedition

Submitted (1 edit)

Have the same issue, unfortunately. Windows 10.

In Godot\app_userdata\project_tuna\logs I see 3 log files but all of them are empty.

Developer

Would any of you available to test the console version and see what鈥檚 the output?
