I wish I could like this game, but it's overwhelming in the very first minute. Give your players at least a few seconds to familiarize themselves with the controls and UI before drowning them in orders & weeds. :(

A stunning entry ! A good contestant for the title of n°1.

The graphs are so impressive. The gameplay is fun, new, fresh, and works very well (my score is 21, I think I might not be really good).

Just a little sad for the absence of local grown sounds.

Developer

thank you so much!! and that's a great score! you're right, we didn't get to invest as much time in sound this time as i would've liked, but i definitely want to make an original soundtrack in the future!

Submitted(+2)

Realized I somehow didn't rate this yet! I adore this concept! and of course the beautiful art and vibes!

SO ADDICTING! just amazing work all around :)

Developer

THANK YOU !! super honored that you like the game!!

Submitted(+2)

love the artstyle and the gameplay very smooth and without bugs !! (a little bit of feedbacks could be great when you sell plants, like a coin counter or something like that)

Good game for 48h tho !!

Developer

thank you so much!! good idea -- we kept it simple for the jam submission with just an order counter shown at the end of the game, but it'd be really cool to add a coin system in the future!!

Submitted(+1)

I really like the art style and the main game cycle, but I think the music could be more relaxing. Good job!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you had fun playing! And yeah, totally noted -- we'd really love to compose something original for the game with additional time!

Same compliments from me as from everybody else! Great game, lots of fun, beautiful visuals etc. One qualm (and it's not particularly negative) is that the messages were silly, but I didn't have time to read them while I was furiously gardening :( Regardless, this was peak.

Developer(+1)

thank you!!! haha yeah i had the feeling not many people would read them but i had so much fun writing them so i decided to include them anyway :p they're mostly just silly/for some added character so i totally understand if you didn't have time to read them haha!! thank you for playing and for your compliments :D

Developer(+2)

(i definitely did not read them and i helped make the game....i have only perceived through screenshots LOL)

Wait, there were messages ???

Submitted(+2)

This is one of my favorite submissions so far, the art is so so so so good WHAT THE HECK ?!!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the very high praise!! Super glad you like the art, haha, we tried to be Good Pixel Artists this time around. Anti-aliasing, no jaggies, and the like...we're really happy it came together!

Submitted(+2)

I love everything about this game.

Developer(+1)

Yayyyy, thanks so much for playing!! We're glad you enjoyed!

Submitted(+2)

Super fun! The visuals are also very impressive! It took me a while to actually figure out I could rotate the flowers and even the shears, but still was fun even before that! I think there could be like a score per type of plant, and maybe different chance depending on the flower shape? I felt like the purple plant happened very often despite it taking more space than the others which made it hard to plan ahead, but then again it does add some difficulty!

Great job on this, its a great submission!

Developer(+2)

I'll admit...the plant selection is completely random so sometimes this happens to you and you just have to grin and bear it lol! But yeah, with how long the purple takes to grow, it would definitely be cool if we added a feature where you're rewarded more for completing such a difficult request. We appreciate the feedback, thanks for playing! <3

Developer(+1)

thank you!! 🫡 as my teammate said it is currently pure random but i'd definitely like to implement a scoring system in the future -- maybe one where you earn money from completing difficult orders & can use it towards upgrades or new flower shapes? much to think about... thank you for the suggestion!

Great art and a really addicting gameplay loop. The tutorial could maybe be pieced up, I won't lie I read the paragraph and then forgot all of it instantly when I started playing and had to figure it out as I went. If you wanted to expand this after the jam maybe add levels with different shapes or obstacles, and earn stars based on completion time? Would work really well as an overcooked kind of hectic game. Amazing job!

Developer

Thanks so much!! I'm glad the art is easy on the eyes, hehe. And that's a good idea, I agree it would be really nice to have an interactive tutorial level with like pop ups that say click here, use right click or R to rotate, etc.! Hopefully we'll get a chance to expand one day; Overcooked is definitely one of our favorite games!

I absolutely love the artwork and music, and the gameplay is easy to pick up and relaxing to play, but still addictive and a decent challenge. Really fantastic game!

Thanks for joining the jam :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! We really appreciate you hosting -- it was perfect timing for a weekend when our team was free, and we love spring themes!

Submitted(+2)

This is great. I'm a sucker for these types of games, so you got me hooked.
The art is really beautiful, gameplay is smooth. Very polished and coherent for a game jam.

Developer(+2)

Yayyy, we're super glad you enjoyed!! Very high praise from the makers of Grippy 😳

Submitted(+2)

I really like the clarity of this game. Even if you haven't read the description and rules, you can still figure out how to play. The game has addictive gameplay and very beautiful graphics. It's a masterpiece!

Developer(+1)

Yayyy, I'm really glad you enjoyed & that it felt clear!! I also find it very addictive to play haha, I'm begging the devs to make an infinite mode 🙏

Submitted(+2)

Great game! I managed to finish 31 orders!

Developer(+1)

31 is awesome, thanks so much for playing!

Submitted(+2)

Wow, where to start? First of all, it should go without saying that this game is GORGEOUS! Definitely the prettiest I've seen so far in this jam. The gameplay is deceptively deep but never so overwhelming that it's frustrating. Plays with a familiar concept but in a super unique way that plays well into the theme and is also just really cute and fun. The sound was also well-implemented which is always a bonus in a jam game. I ended up getting 35 orders after a couple tries. For a chill-looking game, it's actually very stressful! lolol. My only minor critique is that I wish it was easier to tell what flower was in each order just by glancing, but the flavor text did add a lot of character. Seriously, great work guys! Keep it up!

Developer(+1)

Yoo, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!! AND YES! there's so much meta to managing your plot...like I could write a whole dissertation about the optimal plot layout (because obviously pregrow your plants hehe) to minimize rotation but open up flexibility for difficult request sequences. I'm really glad you like it, 35 is a great score! The highest I've seen so far is 38, but with a consistent strat, you can always land somewhere in the 34 to 38 territory, depending on the RNG for the flowers. (purple 2x2 flowers are my enemy...)

And noted about the flowers, we'll try and move the colored flower symbol to the left of the order rather than the right to make it a little easier to see!

Submitted(+2)

The art looks so good! gameplay was fun too

Developer(+1)

heheheee thank you so much!!! hope you enjoyed playing!

Submitted(+2)

Loved the game loop! felt like the orders were pushing on you, which is good, because it adds a sense of urgency to try and fulfill as many orders as possible. My only complaint is about the music, in my opinion a less up-beat track would fit the game area better. Other than that, I would say that the execution, art, and mechanics are top notch. Well done!

Developer(+2)

Thanks so much!!! I'm super happy we hit that good balance of urgency for those who are competitive, while keeping it chill for those who want something more cozy. Yeah, we'd love to have custom music one day (our composer is one of our devs, but there wasn't enough time for them to make something). Thanks for all the feedback!

Submitted(+2)

amazing work, i love it

Developer

thank you!!

very cute and addictive game!!

Developer

thank you!! <3

Fits the theme pretty well, great audio and visuals but could use a better/more immersive progression loop. Great job!

Developer

thank you so much! let us know if you have any suggestions for the progression!

Submitted(+1)

what I meant was ease in the difficulty a bit. You get like 3 seconds of chill in the beginning and then instantly get overwhelmed with orders while still trying to figure out the controls. Obviously, for a jam game it doesn't need to have a perfect learning curve,  but good to keep in mind if you plan on continuing the project

Ok, hear me out...
