Developer(+1)

Thank you!

Really cool game! I love the tilted view effect, and overall a lot of fun to play! Great job!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I wanted to play with shaders a bit, and that's what I got.

I like how the title empasizes YOU WILL DIE like it's on real life but anyways its an alright game. Thats all :).

Developer

Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I sure did die. The movement is a little too fast, and I kept running into the piles of poop. Overall, well done.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I wanted the movement to be fast, to give a feeling of very little control. Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

You were right , I died , a lot ! But hey , had a great time with it . great game and nice job !

Developer

Thank you for playing!

This is simple but understandable and clear game. Goal is not sure, but while playing a while you are getting it. You should make the enemies more clear to detect and be able to care fast: some slime just appears the spot where i'm right jumping into! Also the starting as a entry could be more interesting. I don't either know what to do with the collected white objects. You exported this way too soon it think, you should give it to someone for to test and then make a some needed changes.

Developer(+1)

Well it is a little late for testing, regretfully. My main focus was to throw the player in a multi-tiered boss fight. I do have a few plans for improvement. Such as, more indication on where to put the white orbs, a delay on the spike(slime) collision shape, a more visual indication of when to expect the spikes(slime)/rocks, clearing the level after death, and a more reasonable respawn.  I showed it to a few people, but few actually played it as I don't really circulate in the circles of people that test games. Thank for your honest opinion.

I beat the boss! Good execution on a simple concept. I like how it has an ending, but also gives you a score based on your progress. I like the dynamic of picking up coins and depositing them, it's fun to do that while dodging the obstacles. I also like the total randomness of the obstacles - it can be jank sometimes, like running into a suddenly appearing spike, or falling off the side and respawning on top of a barrel, but there is something nice about the total randomness that would be lost if all these things were fixed. Would have liked to see more - maybe more mechanics, or more phases, or anything.

Developer

Yeah, I didn't have a lot of time to work on it this jam, but I think it turned out well considering my skills at game dev. I have a few ways in mine to help with the jank, but if I do an update I will be waiting until after the voting period to implement them. I thought about having another phase where the boss has another attack, but I ran out of time, and I wanted to keep the game short. Thanks for playing, I'm glad you seemed to have enjoyed it!

Good job on your entry, i'll give you some tips to improve some aspects of the game.

A fast respawn is good, but there is problems if its too fast, the player will mostly always be moving when he dies, after all, his last intention was probably to dodge an incoming death. So if you respawn him instantaneously and let him have control over his character immediately, he will still be inputing some buttons to do an action he doesnt want to do anymore. In the case of your game, sometimes when you die from a spike you'll respawn and immediately run on it one or two more times. You get punished for a mistake you didin't make and it's a bit unfair.

The spike on the ground is a good attack but also, if it's instantaneous you can't really dodge it when it spawns in front of you, at the end i was just standing still when the spike was not on the ground to wait for it to show up so i could cross the arena "safely". You probably want to put the spike on a small delay with a visual indication of his spawning location or at least make it so it only spawn far enough for the player to react.

Developer

Yes, thank you! In have considered these two points, and have a solution for them after the fact. I will most likely patch it to make it better after the jam has ended.

The game is pretty good! The thematic is easy to understand and the game is very fun! The graphics are simple, however they have their own twist and finally, they look pretty good! My score was 130, sad that i can't get to 200 :(   (its my problem, i am bad playing this jajaja but it was fun :D).

Developer

Thank you, I wanted to keep it very simple looking and easy to understand. 200 is entirely possible, I've done it a few times now. However, I'm pretty good at it, considering I've played it about 1000 times at this point, lol.

The game was kind of fun. I didn't finish yet, but I really can't. Somehow those red thingies on the floor keep spawning below my feet even when I'm constantly moving... kind of frustrating, but other than that the game was fun

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you had fun. I have a post jam patch planned to resolve some issues, but it will have to wait until the jam is over.

Submitted(+1)

I like it. It's a little slippery and sometimes the hazards don't clear from the previous run on start up which can cause you to take immediate damage, but it's still kinda fun to play. Also, I think you should make it a little more clear that you need to bring the dots to the black box to gain points. I was jumping around collecting them for like 30-40 seconds before realizing that I only got points when I hit the box after collecting one

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah, those was my biggest grips as well. I hope to patch it after the game jam. Thanks for playing! Also, I wanted to make it a bit slippery.

Submitted(+1)

This was frustrating.. But lots of fun. Good work (I seem to be very attracted to red in this game)

Developer(+1)

Yeah, it was meant to be kind of hard. I tried to make sure your attracted to red, to help you dodge the mechanics, Thanks for playing, I'm glad you found some fun in it!
