Message from the artist
This is my second composer jam and I am thrilled for this opportunity.
For this jams theme I was inspired by some older pictures I've took at a sunset near the salt lake in Larnaca (Zyprese). I kind of was inspired by some old school RPG.
Difficulty
Make a piece that has the same musical notes both forwards and backwards but doesn’t have to be an identical recording.

The bass guitar and percussion you used pairs really nicely with the synth pads. It's a chill vibe backwards and forwards, nice work!
Apart from exactly one moment (pointed that on soundcloud) in a reversed track, really great work. Very vibey and liquid. Reversed version sound cohesive and intentional too.
I love this. I can hear the ripples slowly gliding on the glass of the glass water. Amazing atmosphere. Awesome job!
Awesome tracks, loved the vibes of it (in both versions) !
The instruments are really well arranged, especially the clarinet which gives it a great atmosphere.
It reminds me of the soundtrack from Ecco : Defender Of The Future (on tracks like Passage From Genesis or Pathways From Nowhere) with the plucked strings, the synths and the general vibe.
The sampled bass sounds also are pretty good, could easily recognize the Stingray sound (Sire made the Z3 model recently by the way, an affordable take on the Stingray that seems pretty nice if you're looking for this kind of sound).
Congrats for your tracks !
Spelling error in the title argument invalid!
Jokes aside, The instruments were all beautiful! I especially loved then the unique percussion came in after about a minute which gave the track a whole new life!
The bass guitar reminded me of the soundtrack from Arzette the Jewel of Faramore.
A great entry!
Can't argue with that, you're right. Oddly enoughth you are the first to point out. But I'm glad you liked it.
Arzette the Jewel of Faramore seems to be reminiscent of the old CD-i games. Interesting
yes it was made specifically to parody those games but it is actually really fun and the soundtrack is great
Very nice composition and arrangement, I enjoyed all of it, well done.
The vibes are immaculate. Den minder mig meget om en sang, man hører i den afsluttende emotional cutscene. Very well done!
Åh ja du har ret. Jeg er glad du like det. Så tusend tak.
Amazing work incorporating different sections and transitions while still adhering to the prompt. Have yet to see many pull this off the way you did. Exemplary execution on the "Rule of three", and pictures are serene but become almost melancholic when paired with the audio. Curious to know if you are a flute player or flutist/flautist. could see this music being an ost from a minimalist art style puzzle game like Monument Valley. The different sections could reflect and be triggered by changes in the same level.
But sorry for the lengthy response , all in all good work.
Your critique is very much appriciated and the longer the better. As for your question: I'm originally a guitarist, but dibble dabble nowadays with a few other instruments and started playing the clarinet during lockdown. However, I wouldn't consider myself a woodwind player by any means.
The pictures of the lake are beautiful, thank you for sharing! The song is really nice too, I like the acoustic instruments (the clarinet line is quite nice) and the percussion adds a really nice flavor.
Beautiful Tracks!
the echoey percussion work and the overall atmosphere in the forward track is so captivating and feels very nice on the ears when i first listened to it! then i moved onto the reversed track and the bassline just absolutely blew my mind!!!!
fantastic work!!! 👏👏👏
The pictures are beautiful and I love that you took them as inspiration. Again, I'm mesmerized by your arranging skills! As for aesthetic choices, I think the clarinet adds a very distinctive color to the mix. Awesome!!!
I'm very much humbled by your kind words. So, thank you very much.
What a wonderful listen!
Hard to tell anything more than that, but I must say that bass sound and line is pure gold here. I love it.
Great work!
Really great fit for the inspiration, felt like I was there :) great orchestration overall
Hey! Amazing job! I really liked how you developed the track little by little and I really enjoied when the bass kicked in. It also sounded really nice in reverse! Oh and I almost forgot, AMAZING PHOTO (it's really beautiful) and I think the track fits perfectly for it =)
Great Job!
Great job! Really liked the mood of the piece and reversed sounds adds to it even more.
I like it, a lot of interesting variety. The reversed sounds also adds to the unique sound. Listening to the reversed version is an ethereal experience!
This reminds me of Northern Face Shrine from the Links Awakening remake on Switch (one of my favorite tracks). Very impressive composition. I can imagine this track in an RPG in a forest containing a lake, maybe an environment with some rain. The reversed version flows really well too! Great work.
The whole OST of the remake is a Masterpiece in my books. So getting even the slightest association is like a knighthood to me. Thank you very much!
I really like the percussion that comes in around 1:07. Great vibes throughout, and groovy baseline
love the live instruments! especially the clarinet :D
Hate to admit it, but the clarinet is MIDI. Playing in the clarinet myself would have taken me a day extra. But unfortunately I didn't had the time. :'(
ah i see, that's a convincing midi though lol
