Hey, I'm Saca!

I'm a composer, with a bit of experience with game jams! I've been a musician for 10+ years and decided last year to try my hand at making music for games, which has been extremely fun and rewarding!  My goal is to be able to compose in any genre and style, especially those that I'm not too familiar with, since it helps me grow as a composer! I also want to be able to meet people that also share a love for games!

Here are my previous works - https://www.youtube.com/@Saca.music0

I have to give a fair warning, though! I've been mostly focusing just on composing so, if possible, I'd prefer not doing the sfx.

You can contact me on discord - saca.music0

Cheers!

Oops! Repeated the same track, changed it now!

Very cool concept that's delivered very well! First I'll have to say that the illustrations, and short description for each, helped paint a clearer picture of the story you wanted to tell. That being said even without those the tracks themselves were still able to tell a story, and doing that while still sounding good!

All of the tracks were distinct enough to give a different feel to fit with the scene, while still sounding cohesive! The guitar was used very nicely overall and I just love a fretless bass! My favorite tracks were "In The lounge" for giving that motel vibe and sounding a bit like Weather Report at times (which reading your inspirations makes sense), and "At Dusk", I really liked the texture you created, really felt like a big and arduous task was about to come and this is the last time you get to have a breather!

Great Job!

Simply beautiful! All of these tracks have a very emotional pull and even without reading the description one could still get a clear picture of what you were trying to portray, that said what you wrote did elevate everything quite a bit!

Very hard to pick a favorite from these as they all play such an important part in telling your story, and sound so good! "Starfall" and "One Summer Night" were the ones that stood out the most to me. "Starfall" had a very powerful ethereal feel that makes it fit perfectly with the scene you had in mind, from the harmony to the melody you created such an awesome texture! Then "One Summer Night" felt very intimate, and lullaby-like, which makes it feel like the girl's family is reassuring her!

Great job!

These were pretty fun! I got a sense of adventure and playfulness, especially with "Amaya's Overlook", from the melody and the drums, but also felt like there might be something deeper and more mysterious going on, which is great to keep the player/listener invested! Also really liked the sound design you made in "Whiskers Before the Storm", gave it an unsettling vibe!

Good job!

Definitely felt the analog horror! The use of effects and the sound design in general were standout, and helped sell the feeling of an oppressively uncomfortable place perfectly! Also the used of leitmotifs and themes made everything very cohesive, which helped in selling the story you wanted!

I really liked all of them but I think I like "he_is_taken_forever_taken_is_he" the most, due to it giving me a sense of dread and hopelessness, in a great way! Also loved the first half of "DESCENDESCENDESCEND --- ESCAPESCAPESCAPE" (had to copy paste this one lol), the drums make me want to run from the threat but the melody is so alien that it makes me want to take a quick look back just to see what's chasing me!

Can easily see this in an actual game!

Great Job!

Thanks for the feedback!

Love this one, a racing OST fits so well with the theme! The production quality and mixing is perfect, it gives that intense feel that is expected for games like these! They are all super fun to listen to and they have that distinct ps2/dreamcast style to them!

Although they were all great, "On The Attack" and "Styling On 'Em" were my favorites, they were awesome!

Great job to both of you!

So fun! Each track has a very distinct alien sound and it feels like each has it's own form of alien, feeling like as we are getting closer to the end we just end up finding weirder and more alien feeling things, which just felt great! I really love how you managed to pair those weird sounds so perfectly with some rock/metal elements so well! Your soundtrack reminded me a lot of Risk of Rain and the Golden Idol games!

Overall I really like all of them, but "Prepare to Engage" and "The Mothership" stood out to me the most, maybe because they both give off the feeling of retaliation, and feel like they are a continuation between themselves!

Great Job!

Very cool concept, and I think that the soundtrack you created fits it perfectly! There's a nice balance between rockin' tracks and relaxing ones, all while having a distinct summer feel to them! The tracks feel very cohesive and I like how there are some musical elements connection each other! Also, it does feel like these are being played by a band, as you explained in the description, which ties very well to the concept you made!

"One Summer Night" was my favorite as it evoked the feeling of spending a summer with friends the best, and also because it just sounds so good!

"Night at the Docks" also stood out to me, especially when the winds joined near the end, made it even more dreamlike and relaxing!

Great Job!

Thank you so much for the kind words!

Excellent writing, reminds me a bit of Wagner in some instances!

There's a lot to uncover here, I think all of the pieces sell the feeling of being in an unfamiliar place perfectly, having both moments of unsettling unknown as well as beautiful curiosity! The pieces also have a very organic and natural flow to them, never staying in one place for too long, which makes it feel like we're traversing through these lands and moving on to each different place inside them! The orchestration is also masterclass here, being able to juggle dense and lush chords and then go to more intimate melodies is brilliant!

Also there's some very fun sound experimentation going on, in "Fields of Fading Memories" around the middle part, the play with the instruments capabilities and the texture you created really gave me the feeling of being in a turbulent place, in a great way! Then in "Mezmar's Maze" the choir effects and whispers really sold the idea of being stuck in a maze!

Although they were all excellent, I think my favorite was "Lost Thought River", there was just an amazing feel of playfulness paired with the sense danger that fits the theme of a river perfectly!

Given the amount of time we had, this was just out of this world and hope you had as much fun writing this as I had listening to it!

Amazing work!

Really serene ambient tracks, but with some sense of urgency to them! The harmony was nicely chosen to give some open feeling to the whole thing, and I like the use of some soft percussion on "rush through the field" which, again, gives it a faint sense of urgency, which fits well with the idea of the boy and dog wanting to get home!

Good job!

Awesome stuff! High pace, action, with hints towards something darker underneath, everything just fits together perfectly! The instrumentation is great and works really well with the setting, and sound design is great and very fun to listen to and complements the tracks! Also really liked that you made different parts for different sections in each track, super cool!

My favorite was "Overcharge", really liked the instrumentation towards the end, gave it a very grand feel which works well with a boss battle!

Great job!

These tracks have some cool sound design that makes things feel a bit unsettling, in a good way!

"Memories on the Lake" stood out to me, the chord progression and instrumentation really gives it a serene feel, but with a sense of an adventure that is to come! So I can see these being played on a game, and the idea that you had for them fits pretty well!

Great job!

These are super fun to listen to! The instrumentation overall is very evoking of summer and beaches, and I like the approach of having different times of days, changing the feel with each, but not losing that sense of summer!

My favorite is "Falling Sunset"! Much like the others it reminded me of old japanese games, but this one was quite funky so it stood out to me!

Great job!

Very cool stuff! All three tracks were distinct enough to give each of them it's own identity, but also cohesive enough to feel like they come from the same place!

The instrumentation, chord progression and melodies really fit the detective idea you had going on!

Torn between "Open and Shut" and "The Insistence of the Restless" for my favorite! For the first one I really like the lazy/drunk feel of the drums and the whole thing just has a very nice vibe to it! For the last one I just like the trem guitar and how open the track feels!

Great job!

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback!

Yeah, I also felt these became static pretty fast, but I think since I didn't leave myself a lot of room mix wise I was a bit worried of breaking the mix, as I'm not very good at mixing! Also since I'm not that knowledgeable with this style of music I wasn't really sure how to create more dynamics without sounding too forced. The intro for "Same Place, Years Later" was the last thing I did for the reasons you described, to create a build up to help with the "staticness" of the track, but even then I wasn't sure if using synths like that worked well with this style!

Thanks for listening and, again,  for the detailed feedback!

"Dusk", "The Forest" and "Stargazing" have some really great textures, and I think they all fit perfectly in the game you had in mind in the description! "Dusk" was probably my favorite of the three, there were some elements there that reminded me a bit of dragon quest, like the melody and chord progression!

But my favorite of all the OST is "The Dock"! The vocals were incredible and the track as a whole was very groovy! And although it feels a bit too different from the other tracks I think as a credit track it fits nicely!

Great Job!

So beautiful! All of these have a very warming feel to it, very fitting for the game you imagined!

"dear diary" was great, it immediately set the mood and gave a very relaxing vibe!

"come with me" was very fun, loved the chord progression and melody!

I really liked the improvised feel of "love lost" and just how beautiful everything was!

My favorite was "that one summer night" which was amazing! Really reminded me of Yoko Kanno and and Ryuichi Sakamoto! And the vocals were lovely, they added a lot of heart to the track!

Awesome job to both of you!

Love how the Main theme has a deceptive beauty to it, which goes perfectly with the city you created in the description!

"Single Step" is very elegant and the tango elements also fit the relationship between the characters very well!

Great job!

Very cool setting you've created, it really does feel straight out of a bullet hell!

Love the instrumentation, mixing a clavichord with synths and a breakcore drum line feels awesome! And the use of leitmotifs worked really well even when doing some more high paced tracks!

"Lord Of Ice" and "Hand Of The Night" were my favorites! The first I really liked the melody and the second really gave off that calm boss theme that is the complete opposite in terms of gameplay!

Also, cool to see someone else use a vocal synth (although I used mine in a more textural kind of way)!

(And also, also, just noticed that we both don't bother coloring and naming our tracks in Cubase lol!)

Great Job!

The OST fits the game idea you had very nicely! The use of leitmotifs helps connecting everything together even when using different textures!

I really liked "Stillness' Lair" for the driving force you managed to create, which works perfectly for the scene you thought for it!

Also liked how you incorporated everything it "End Credits"!

Great job!

The ambience in some of these are incredible! The soundtrack in general feels very cohesive and is overall very fun to listen to, there's a lot of different textures with some leitmotifs connecting everything together! Also great sound design throught!

"hypangogia" was my favorite, it really capture that lazing about feeling on a summer day!

"the stars seem further away" and "forest of clovers" were also two that stuck out to me, they brought out the beauty of exploring the garden!

Great job to you both!

Yeah these work so well with the idea you have in the description! They have a somewhat somber feeling, without being too dark!

My favorite was "Ouverture", really liked the melody and I think that the sound design at the start really added a lot to the track!

Great job!

Simply beautiful! The orchestration is on point, exploring different textures with each track, with a good leitmotif carrying the entire album!

"Seaside Overture", "Heart Of The Mountain Town" and "Atlantis" were my favorite tracks, but honestly they were all great, and each of them brought something unique to the entire soundtrack!

Would fit perfectly on a jrpg!

Awesome job!

Ah, so it IS shoegaze! When I was thinking up these tracks I felt they could be it, but since I've only listened to like 2 shoegaze songs before and they weren't that similar to what I had in my mind I wasn't too sure!

Either way thanks for listening!

I just love the chords and melody in "Title Theme"! So simple yet so beautiful!

"Battle Theme" is great! It reminds me of a couple different popular jrpgs (FF7 and Dark Souls 3 mainly), so you managed to capture that perfectly! Overall the orchestration is top notch, strong melodies and counter melodies, and love the way the track evolves!

"Eryndor's Madness" is easily my favorite! It sounds grand and epic, and brings elements from "Battle Theme" that almost feel like a evolution of that track. Again reminds me of other jrpgs (this time the viola melody really remind me of Drak Souls 3 main theme)!

This feels like it's straight out of a finished game, very impressed!

Awesome Job!

Thank you for the kind words!

And yeah Synth V from what I've seen is usually used with lyrics in various languages, but I felt like that maybe it could work well for just "aahs" and "oohs" and so I just went for it and bought it! Thankfully I think it worked well in this case!

"Side A: Press Play" really has that chill indie game vibe going on! Would fit perfectly in the game you were describing!

The Main Menu theme was very relaxing, felt like a nice start and calm start to the game!

Great job!

Nice touch adding the main theme to introduce the leitmotifs, not only is it a great piece by itself but it does help tie in everything together, like you said in the description!

"Ashore" was very fun to listen to, a true summer/beach theme!

I'm not usually a big fan of sound design focused tracks, since I normally prefer a clear melody on top of chords, but I really liked "Under Currents", maybe because the broken leitmotif usage!

This could fit perfectly in the game you described!

Great job!

Very catchy tunes!

They all sound straight out of a game! My favorite was "Today is NOT a good day" simply because of how groovy it was! Also really liked how fun "The Best Last Day" was, not just for the sound effects used but also the melody and progression!

Also the description was a fun read!

Great Job!

The textures, melodies and progression on "First Night of Summer" were excellent!

The storytelling on "Gone, Searching, Reunited" was top notch!

Can't really think of anything I don't like in these tracks, really impressed by how dense and complex they are given the time they were made in!

Great job!

Really cool!

The textures you created in "Another Night Started" reminded me of Pikmin!

"Lost in Dreams" was very relaxing which fits the summer night theme pretty well!

Great job!

Both really relaxing and evoking of summer! My favorite was "Moonlight Reflections", thought the melodies were very nice and really liked the pizzicato section at the end!

Great Job!

"Swell and Fade" was very nice, the 3 different sections melded pretty well! The melody was cute and even on the third and most intense section it still felt pretty dream-like which I think goes well with your description of the track!

Also really liked the live flute used in "Ribbon", again giving a dream-like feel!

Think this would fit perfectly on the game you described!

Great job!

Hey! I'm a composer that started focusing on making music for game jams for about a year now. My goal is to try and make music of any style and genres! I took a look at your previous jam submissions and loved how they looked! And I think that chill and relaxing music would be a perfect next step for me! I do have to give a quick heads up though! Since I've been focusing more on the music side my sfx skills aren't that great!

Full OST right here, in terms of length and quality! The tracks are all fun to listen to and are very cohesive even though two people worked on it, which is a feat in and of itself, congrats!

Super cool to read your inspirations and then be able to also listen and identify them!

My favorites were: 'The Courtyard', LOVED the sound design and the track reminded me of some Wario's music, super quirky and fun; and 'Get Us Outta Here!', which to me really sold the idea of escaping from somewhere, the sense of urgency from the drums and hopeful melody was really cool!

Great work!

Very cool! 'Prison of the Mind' creates an awesome mood and tone that really reflects being a prisoner of one's mind!

Also, 'Time to Fight Through' reminded me of old anime songs, which fits extremely well for an RPG!

Great work!
