The gameplay is really well done, i like the mechanic of just blasting yourself as a moving method and need to defend yourself with it too. It's really fun, it looks really good, it reminds me of octopath traveler, and i love the fliping animations on the cactuses xDD. Good job man!

Developer

Thanks for the nice comment mate! At least two of us brought up Octopath Traveler when talking about the art style, so I am very glad you recognized our main art inspiration. Well spottet!

The Cactus sprites were made by another team member, but I did the sound, jumping and flipping. The enemy character is the element I'm most fond of. Glad you like it!

haha pretty cool! Attictive and fun! the gunshot drove me crazy though

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! You mean the gunshot soundeffect was annoying? Do you have an idea how to improve it? Maybe make it quieter or vary the pitch of the effect?

I really really like the gameplay! It's easy to understand and fun. The Checkpoints are helpful as well. I love the 2D/3D-Mix as well!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Very glad to read that both the gameplay and art are enjoyable. Everyone really did a great job on our team :)

This is great!

Developer

Thank you!

Really neat concept, the movement was nice, i can see it being a cool endless runner kinda game

Developer(+1)

An endless runner is a really interesting idea! We are planning more handcrafted levels, but I will consider the suggestion, thank you :)

Submitted(+1)

Pretty good level design and it's also fun to play, balanced, nice artstyle, I really liked it

Developer

Thank you, glad you liked it!

Cool mechanic and wonderful art style. Reminds me Paper Mario. I thought interesting the fact that you reload faster on the ground, makes you plan your jumps and introduces many possibilities for level design

Developer(+1)

The way the cactus turns around also really reminded me of Paper Mario! I am glad you also see the similarity. Reloading should only happen on the ground but I wasn't able to fix a bad grounded check which also fires close to walls. Once we fix that, and put more time into level design, the game will reward planning before jumping even more!

Loved this! One of my favorite submissions! I kept playing even after reaching the end of the cave hoping to uncover a secret lol! Great job

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it! Only after submitting it I thought about hiding a sectret below the last gap. Would've been a great easter egg for you! Will try to remember to put one there next patch :)

Hey, this was a neat game man :). The mechanic of shooting to jump was fun but a little hard to control. The graphics were nice overall as well. It's a great idea and had some nice execution. Well done

Developer(+1)

Thank you! It was supposed to be difficult to control but maybe I overdid it a little. There definitely are some things I will change - I feel like the knockback from the shot is a little inconsistent sometimes. Thank you for the feedback mate!

Thank you! Happened partly on accident because someone joined last minute under the condition he could make pixel art. Luckily, our 3D Artist could adapt very well :)

I like this game! The art style is good, the gameplay is also good. Btw the idea, I like it. It was really fun to play.

Good job!

Please check my game as well ;)

Developer

Thank you! I already did play your game, but unfortunately the car kept stopping and I was unable to turn. Loaded your game again right now, and this time it worked somehow. Just a little heads up - on my screen the play button is only visible when going fullscreen. Maybe the anchors aren't placed correctly.

Was surprised how much fun it is to jump around by shooting! Really fun idea! Also the artstyle is super cute!

Developer(+1)

Glad you like our concept! I'm conviced we'll be able to make much more out of this mechanic :)

Submitted(+1)

A bit slow paced for my taste; but really cool game. Thumbs up !

Developer

True. We also want to make it faster. I think especially the reloading slows the pace town a bit too much. Thank you for your feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Very impressive, fits the theme of the jam perfectly, pretty environments and lighting too!

Developer

Thank you! One member was not quite sure if our game would pass as a shooter, so I'm glad to read that you think it is a good fit.

Submitted(+1)

This was really fun, ansious to play more if you ever update it. Cheers!

Developer(+1)

The game will be polished and expanded. We are currently planning to release a full version of it for free on itch and an Android version with maybe some infrequent, short ads. If you want to follow us, I promise, you will at least get some kind of update :)

Submitted(+1)

Very good concept, and well executed. Good entry ! Only drawback for me, we can’t see some obstacles before touching them => it becomes a very hard die & retry game :)

Developer

Thank you! You really have a good point! Wrote that into my todo-notes :)

This game is great and sligtly adictive. I would very much enjoy a full game. Coincidentally I know that the current speedrun record is 1 minute and 18 seconds. This groundbreaking achivement was set after just two and a half hours of playtime by none other than the original Senpax himself.

Developer

Thank you Mr. von Saufenberg! 1:18 sounds like a good time to me. Now I want to try speedrunning our Level as well. I wonder how long Senpax will take to clear the full game when it is finished.

This is a very fun little game, at first it feels a little clunky, but after some time you get the hang of it and it gets a lot smoother. The pixel art gives it a lot of character, while staying clean with the rest of the visuals. There are a few bugs, but that is to be expected. Sadly there is no real ending, but I ran through it a few times and there are some very fun quirks that make the game pretty unique.

Developer

Glad you liked the game enough to clear it multiple times! The lack of an ending is the number one thing that I would've liked to implement. The next version might not feature the full game ending, but at the very least a more satisfying end for the cave and some other Areas.

(+1)

Have you ever seen such amazing pixel art???

Developer(+1)

Just wait until I integrate the Sprites and Animations which are already completed but were cut form the current version due to the time constraints. I'll try to get the same Artist to work with me for the full release. You might have heard of him? His name is TarnkappenToast.

A really fun game. Love the 2.5D visuals and the sounds. Variety of obstacles give the game more depth and excitement factor.   I did however, encounter a small  bug where I landed on the very edge of a platform and my gun didn't reload.

Developer

Thank you for your feeback and bug report! Thought I fixed getting stuck. I have written down that I have to improve the collision detection after all.
