Damn this was great! I am not sure how the 3d background integrates with other 2d art but it's an amazing experience!

The music is kinda annoying but this concept is really great !
And the artstyle is absolutely awesome ! I love this pixel art with 3D environement and all of these lighting ambience !
Reaaally enjoy this game, nice arts and nice mechanics, good job!!
It'd mean a lot if you could check my game too and give me your opinion
Very well-rounded game, it's fun to move around with the shotgun. As I played through, I started wishing the gun would immediately reload upon hitting the ground, allowing for a much faster and frantic gameplay (and taking a step back, a platformer where you have to wait 1 second before jumping again doesn't sound that fun). The graphic style is simple and clean, works very well in that context. I think using Unity's sprite lighting system, you can make it look even better. The 4-notes loop for the music can become a bit annoying over time. Besides those small things, I had a blast, well done :) If you plan to extend it, I would focus on making destructible environment that forces you to think about every shot.
Thank you very much for giving us such an extensive feedback! We already want to experiment with lower reloading times. We didn't want the player to dash wildly through the level without thinking, but we may have overdone it with the reloading time, true. Thank you for suggesting the Sprite lighting system - we will continue to use the Unreal Engine though. The music is relatively low priority right now, but will definitely be changed and improved.
So far, I have never worked on destructible environments, but the idea is awesome! I think it could have a great synergy with the shotgun mechanic - I will at th every least try to look into it!
Glad you enjoyed our game :)
I can't say bad word about this game, art is pretty and gameplay is really fun :)
Awesome art and sound effects! All very fitting into the game! I like the concept of this game, its very interesting to see such a platformer. Great job! Though there were some unclear parts like how i did not know that the cactus could be shot at and the bushes were unshootable, causing me to have to restart, but the overall game is fantastic! Nice job!
Thank you! The confusion about what you can and cannot destroy wasn't mentioned by anyone before you. I already expected we have to communicate that better, but reading your comment made it even clearer, thank you!
I think simply placing these objects in different places might tell the player how to deal with them. I thought that maybe when the player first spawns, he/she will have a cactus to his/her left side. Even if the player ignores the cactus and tries to move to the right, the cactus will be accidentally destroyed. Do you think this is a good way to explain the mechanics, or do you have a different idea? :)
Cool! Glad you like the idea. Will try if it works as well as I hope. The only problem I can think of right now is that the player might shoot the ground and miss the cactus after all. But well, I already have one more idea about it. I'm sure we'll find something :)
Thank you for your great feedback!
Wow, what a package this was. I did get stuck unfortunately, getting caught on a corner where it didn't count as ground, so I couldn't reload, but was also out of shots so just had to restart.
Despite that this was a real treat.
I really enjoyed this game, loved the 2.5 D graphics, it look really cool and i may even try out them myself, but before the second checpoint the travel segment was super boring, and i didn't notice the cactai so i had do it like 3 times lol, and also there was one really cheap enemy placement in cave, enemy just jumped on me mid air, in split second, so you should try improving level design a bit, but other than that it was really cool
Thanks for giving feedback which is a bit critical! What you wrote seems really useful.
Wouldn't have expected the segment before the second checkpoint to be boring, but I will have a hard look at it. Do you have an idea how to make the enemies feel less cheap? Do you think zooming the camera out a bit would be a good idea?
One of the best game i've played for this jam ! The mechanics are working well ! I've found a "hack" on respawn where you can get 3 shots if you are quick enough.
Very original, striking art style and simple, responsive gameplay. This is what a jam game should aspire to be!
This is a beatifull game 2D + 3D lol and the only shootgun movement is really fun :D Can you had bonus like more bullet ? :D
Oh, that is intriguing! Having to make a shoice between, for example, higher knockback or an extra bullet with less knockback could be very exciting. Changing the shotgun visually also sounds like a good idea to go with it. Thank you very much for the suggestion, will talk to the other team members about this! :)
