Nice game!
It took me way too long to realize that it's donkey kong in a new perspective xD

Btw, I see you have the same audio issues I had with Godot (when played in the browser), I fixed it by downloading the latest 3.3 RC and then set the audio mix rate to really low (seems like the minimum to support all browsers is 8000).

Developer

What was the sound issue? I didn't hear any when I was testing it.

Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the advice!

Submitted

Maybe I can hear it because I'm with headphones (or it's specific to my PC) but both in your game and my game when music was playing I was hearing "krakling" noises when the game was playing on the browser.
I think others in my game's comments told me about it too, but I might be misremembering.

ngl i was totally expecting mario jumpscare when it said monkey strong heard a strange noise

Hahahah. I'm not a fan of those, so I'd never make one myself.

Now this is neat. That funny storyline with the references to Donkey Kong was a really creative and fun use of the limitation!

Neat little idea and story. :)

Thanks!

I really enjoyed this. I love how clever it is. And, like Yumehiko mentioned, very Wreck it Ralph. But it also made me think of that old song Code Monkey (and of course Donkey Kong lol)!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I love the art you added to the page around the game. So cool

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the game! The art is recycled from the 'background' in the game, but I thought it added a nice touch.

Amazing, that's all I can say.

The game was funny with it's story and entertaining with the barrel-throwing mechanic, but a bit too short for my taste. Maybe add an endless mode? Also, the game lacks the main theme of this jam: bugs.

Developer

I could probably have added an endless mode, yes. I figured if a player wanted to play more they could just play it again.

The theme is present in the form of software bugs, rather than insects. The fact that the player never shows up because they used a bug in the game to skip the level is a major driver of the story.

Also, remember: Mini jam has the theme as optional.

Thanks for playing!

Surprisingly funny and entertaining to play for a short while, well done!

Developer

Thanks!

I really like the style hahaha. A little lacking in dynamics, but otherwise very unusual and interesting.

Thanks for playing!

Ummm, I can't play the game because it freezes when I enter the game page. The environment is mac 10.15.7 Catalina, and the browser is Google Chrome.

Developer(+1)

Dang... this is why I don't usually do 3D.

I was able to play it using a different windows pc.

I have fantasized about how the villains spend their time when the players don't come. This game is just like that. This game reminds me of "Wreck-It Ralph".

Developer(+1)

Glad you got to play it. Yes, Wreck-It Ralph was a big inspiration here.
