I wasn't originally planning on trying too hard to use any theme but the peaceful theme became apparent as I was making it so I leaned into it a little.
Tools
Godot worked really well for this, easy to use and easy to work with at small pixel sizes.

Its a nice game, I did struggle a bit with the controls as I was using a keyboard as felt laggy
I really enjoyed playing your game! The art style and animation were fantastic, especially given the 64x64 pixel restriction. The peaceful vibe and unique mechanics were engaging, though the controls felt a bit sluggish on keyboard and the level design was occasionally hard to navigate. I found it challenging to locate all five orbs and a map or hints could improve the experience. Despite these points, the game was relaxing and immersive, with great attention to detail. Awesome job!
Wasn’t sure what to do with the orb even after I found the stone circle, and soon after I beached myself and died by the fisherman, but really liked the atmosphere in this.

Great work! The opening crawl gag was great, and the navigation was a neat spin on normal movement. Definitely a lot easier to make that first jump once I plugged in a controller. I liked some of the interactions like the beach ball that you could knock down and play with.
10/10 lore at the beginning.
The vibes and atmosphere really nailed that feeling from when I booted up Ecco decades ago. Which is also why the first thing I did was immediately try to jump out of the ocean. I was not disappointed. Great job all around with this!
Hi, some tips please? It seems the first orb is in a place where I need to jump over the land, but jumping even remotely that high seems impossible no matter what I try. Nvm I get it, I was always just holding the button.Well, this did help improve the atmosphere with the unbearable heat wave going on here. It was a cool experience, and extra authenticity points for pixel by pixel scroll. The game is lovely but to find more than two orbs seems would take a long time (and good memory of places), which is fine as you aimed for a game where we can just chill, along with some interesting details to discover.
I forgot to say that the way you handled the scenario at the beginning is hilarious!

I was also recently thinking about a remake or a demake of ecco the dolphin and well here it is. I really like the whole atmosphere of the game, the graphics, the music are really cool and fit the mood well. I find the controls a little stiff and I don't know if it's on purpose, the three gauges are really well seen and add variety to the gameplay without being too penalizing. I had a great time even if I found only four orbs... sniff
Thanks for playing. The controls are a sticking point, they work best with a controller but I could never quite get them to work even half as well with keyboard. It seems people really are having difficulty finding all 5 orbs but really they are there to give the game some purpose if just splashing about isn't cutting it for you.
Pretty cool game i like it!
Having been a big fan of Flippy the Dolphin while growing up, I was eager to take on Flippy's great-great-great-great grandson for a spin. The intro was a bit hard to read through, but I was able to record and then go frame by frame to make sure I didn't miss any of the backstory on how Flip missed out on his inheritance. (j/k that was a really funny intro though)
Took me a few minutes to understand the jumping out of the water concept, but then it was all freedom moving forward! Really cool how you were able to incorporate a full underwater world, with boats/treasures, divers, artifacts etc. It was actually super immersive! I would have loved for the air bubbles to spawn a bit more, it became a bit tedious to wait for my oxygen to come back up. I wasn't able to find all 5 orbs but after 15 minutes I actually started doubting there were 5 orbs! I pretty much visited the entire ocean, hit every single sea urchin out there at least 8 times, and made sure I left a signature on every wall. Lovely mood, soothing music made for a really fun relaxing game - albeit I have to say it was sometimes a bit hard to remember where I was and what I had already visited, most likely due to the reduced 64x64 real estate.
In any case, really great job on a fun entry!

Spoilers for anyone else that sees this - there are definitely 5, one above the stone circle, one in the maze to the right, another hidden in seaweed further to the right, one that you will need the jellyfish to guide you to in order, and one is held high above the water almost out of reach.
Just played Finn's/Flip's quest (Couldnt tell cause cause the thumbnail says Flip's) ! The intro was super funny and totally caught me off guard! The movement felt nice combined with the jumping, however I do have to agree with the other comments, the level design is pretty hard to read/understand from a players stand point. I defentily think that some type of map system could have totally work for this game. I was able to find 2 orbs before I got stuck. Awesome Job!
Aw dang. I don't know where I got Finn from in making the page. Way too sleep deprived I guess. Or maybe the answer was in the story at the beginning?
Thanks for playing, I love getting feedback and seeing what I missed it all gets logged in the brain for the next game. I think there's a difference between playing it when trying to get through each game vs just loading it up to play. For a few friends the slow exploration was the point but maybe some direction would make sense with players really having a limited time to try each game.
Ya and I totally suffered from level design in my game also! Anyways though awesome game and super fun to play!

The terrain/dolphin color made it a little hard to see where I was (thinks kind of blended in). I couldn’t find any orbs. It looked like there was a switch at the bottom of one of the paths, but I couldn’t figure out how to activate it.
I liked the splashing effects when you jumped in and out of the water. Loved Echo the dolphin back in the day and nice to see another type of game in that genre.
If it's white it just tops up your air. Try jumping over the islands - there's a whole big world to explore
With keyboard gameplay(movement) feels a bit struggling. Also I needed (and was waiting for) some advices/hint inside the game; Like - Where to bring Orbs? Where they are located? Good option would be a timer which shows a hint on screen if player is not doing any progress over some time.
I agree, I tried to indicate it through level design, you encounter the first one in a linear path with the stone circle at the end of it. Beyond that there is no timer because I wanted it to be something you just played, the orbs are there to provide a goal but swimming and jumping is kind of the point - maybe I should have made that clearer.
This is really great! The intro text had me literally lolling. Peaceful and intuitive, and very well laid out, wow especially for having been made in just a couple days. Amazing!
One thing I would change: When you get beached, it respawns after a sec, but it feels kind of artificial. What if pressing the swim button made you respawn, when you can’t move?
It should require you to press R to respawn. I'm still working away adding nice little touches and want a better way of respawing that feels more fun. Thank you for playing it.
