This game could very well be a new rythm game like OSU if developed further! I like the minimalistic art direction, good music, nice idea and the message at the end XD. One small thing I had problems with was the camera, sometimes I didn't have enough time to see what's coming to react accordingly.. I think making the camera zoomed out or follow the player faster would make it a bit easier... But again, other than that, it feels very satisfying to play, great work!

HAHA! Thanks for the message at the end! Great mechanic and art direction. Well done!

I'm delighted that you enjoyed it - thank you for the opportunity to participate!

Nice idea and good use of the theme

Cool idea and it looks awesome! Well done

Solid idea, simple but effective and presentation is on par. Could really benefit from tuning the input to make it perfect.

I liked the style of the game,Great job!

This is an interesting time-based game! The sound effects were satisfying, as well as the particles created when successfully hitting at the right moment. I did find it slightly more fiddley than I think it should be, especially in the parts of the drawing that overlap it becomes chaotic and I just spam the space bar haha, maybe that is the point though.

Very solid entry.

What I liked :

  • Great Concept : turning a 'connect the point' to a race
  • Juicyness
  • Music
  • Fun to play

What can be improved :

  • Camera: your should use some time of "look head", Center the camera where the hex will be in X seconds. (And make sure the hex is visible)
  • Show more segment to help us anticipate
  • Draw some circle that reduce when your on the right timing (like in rhythm games)
  • Perhaps some 'speed lines' when you are fast to feel the speed.

Hope it helps.

Congratulation. Game is easy to go in, fun and well performed.

Nicely done! Simple geometric visual elements but they match each other perfectly. Great color palette. The sound and audio goes together as well. Zipping around is pretty fun too. See the image at the end was a fun reward.

I think maybe you could have added some way of knowing when the next node is coming up. The close camera made it so that there was not much time to react, especially when there where multiple nodes close to each other

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback!
We have already received similar criticism, so I believe that you are definitely right in the fact that it can be hard to see and react to what's coming next.
Cheers :)

A cool idea. I liked the clean aesthetic. The sound was good for the most part, but there was a quite harsh click noise when you went past the nodes.

My main critique would be the "level design". Some of the nodes seemed impossible to accurately tap, they were simple too close together to react to, this was most evident on the sword. Something more rhythmic or that followed consistent patterns would go a long way, as the nodes essentially felt random in their placement. Despite mapping out images.

It was a cool idea though, and you executed well on that idea. Nice one!

Developer

The harsh click sound is a WEBGL error I have no idea how to fix haha :)
And yes we will definitely be adjusting some of the levels, most importantly the sword level as you have pointed out.
Thank you sir :)

Nice!  I like the simplicity of the game and the visuals.   Diversifying the same shape in terms of a color and size is a nice touch, and so is the ending <3

Looked great the menus and ui looked very professional and well done. loved the use of sounds and was a great submission would love to see this expanded to a full game and how it would go

Timing, timing, timing... Very clean and nice game! congrats!

smooth and relax game, the art is match with the game play, nice work ☕

Good use of visual effects like particles and screen shake, fun concept that I could definitely imagine playing on a mobile device and having a lot of fun!

Two pieces of critical feedback would be: it gets quite confusing when there are many nodes in a cluster, I often didn't know which way the hexagon would travel next. Two ways to help with that visually would be to disable every other node's activation circle visibility until that one is the next one or two nodes in line, another way would be to have the next node's circle be bright and colorful to grab more attention.

The second problem I had was with the sfx when successfully boosting as there is a short but sharp sound that would hurt my ears, resulting in me having to lower the sfx volume, which is unfortunate because every other sound in the game fit rather well. Having the option to control volume levels btw was very appreciated! Awesome work overall!

I love the palette! good job!

Excellent tutorial! Colors are well chosen and the game looks great, I would increase the speed of the base unit as sometimes it can feel a little slow between nodes. Another quick note would be to change or remove the sound of going over a node as I felt it was a little more grating against the rest of the aesthetic! Its been said but repeating areas (seemed like I couldn't boost off the nodes I already had?) is a little bit of added tedium.  Ultimately I think this game executes well in presentation and felt polished. Nice submission.

Developer(+1)

Thank you :)

Okay yes the speed, will definitely have to experiment with that then to see how it feels to move at a higher constant rate.

The sound of going over a node, are you referring to the harsh click noise when you went past the nodes - if so that was a webgl error haha

Great art style, idea and gameplay. Maybe you could somehow avoid making the player going over past nodes because that slows the gameplay down a bit.

Developer

Yeah this is most prominent in the last level I believe, and you are not alone in your thoughts as other people have pointed out the same issue.
Thanks for your feedback :

Cool idea and really nice and juicy! Excellent tutorial! I liked the anticipation of waiting to see what the picture was going to be but I also felt like it dragged on a bit, maybe it'd have been a bit nicer broken up into smaller little sections? Not too sure, might just be my terrible attention span. Also I felt like a lot of the time my hits weren't being counted, maybe I really was too slow, but it felt kinda unfair, it probably wasn't unfair and I was just too slow but I definitely had that feeling while playing. That said, I think you made something really nice and polished! Great work :)

Developer

Hey, you're actually right in that it's a kinda unfair. There was a bit of a disconnect between how we approached the boost mechanic visually and from inside the code. The result is somewhat misleading but we intend to correct this in the future.

Thanks for playing! We really appreciate the feedback.

Ohh thanks for letting me know that I'm not crazy :P. Well wishes for your future game endeavours!

I liked it alot, and love the art style. But the camera is too slow and too zoomed in so i sometimes can’t see the nodes that im going to connect to, and sometimes i press space at the right time but it slows me down… The last level was too big but when i saw the end shape i was amazed, didn’t expect it. Overall really enjoyed it!

Thanks for the feedback!
