Well deserved first place! Such a nice game, congrats!!

Developer

thanks, Caro!!

Nicely done. Gameplay and graphics are great, and it seems as if the project itself was well-scoped.

Developer

Thanks Cashew! I definitely trimmed down the scope as much as I could - hope to add more now that the jam is done. Pirates are planned! :D

Congrats on placing first in your first game jam!! 🎉🎉

Well deserved 🥇

thank you, Mark! :) humbled and honoured

Absolutely gorgeous game. The visuals are very good, the controls are pleasant, and it's a very good use of the theme. Great job!

Developer

thanks & thank you for following! :)

This is beautiful game! My favourite design so far.

Great entry! Controls are smooth and simple and the game looks awesome. Very well optimised as well - it ran silky smooth on my 2017 MacBook Air, which was struggling with quite a lot of 3D entries this Jam. Very good choice of the music as well!

Sublime stuff. Got me hooked in no time. Gimme more!

Wow, seriously this is the best game I played so far in the jam. I loved the simplicity of it and the super responsive controls. Even if it is simple it has a very nice polish and the music and SFXs are great and fits the game perfectly.

Developer

thank you!

Very good game ! It looks great and feels great to play.

Only tiny small critic is the engine sound is a bit loud  and bothering. (but thats really just a detail)

Apart from that, a very solid game. Good work :)

The images and video look great ! Unfortunately I cant start the game no matter where i press or what keys i hit, and  the text which explains the controls gets stuck on the new game button ... anyone else had something similar ? maybe its a Chrome issue ?

Developer(+1)

try zooming out with your global browser zoom, that fixed it for a friend with 125% system zoom settings on windows

Submitted(+1)

Thanks ! it worked. I had a great time playing :)

awesome - sorry about UI, still figuring out responsive webGL Unity quirks

Good game 👍

Great music, great sense of speed and progressions was fun all round.

Looks good and plays nice. Simple yet effective, nice work!

An excellent endless runner that uses the assets available in a very creative way! I enjoyed the music, and most of the sound effects… except the thruster(?) sound effect. That one kinda felt like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Ultimately, gameplay wise, I don’t see much wrong. The game plays well. The challenge builds nicely. The game feels (control wise) very responsive!

My only thought… The sections that have both a platform and an orbiting ship/shuttle… perhaps the platforms for these sections should have two possible ways through instead of one. If that shuttle orbits in front of my only way through, then I’m doomed to loose. I think, as a player, if I’m going to loose it should be because I couldn’t time my controls right, not because I was simply unlucky and was presented with no way through.

Over all, this is a great game!!

Developer(+1)

Wow thanks for the thorough review, ObsidianBlk!

Excellent point about the overlap between platforms and shuttles - this happens because of the procedural level generation that I scrambled to assemble at the end of the jam. Completely agree in that there shouldn't be any unfair disadvantage because of how the level generation works.

If I do develop this further, I'll make sure to add much more platform variety, more variance in how the obstructing traffic moves and some logic to ensure that there is always at least one good path at all times.

What's your highscore, btw? :)

Oooo… I believe it was 948! I was trying for 1000 and was thiiiiiiis close!

Submitted(+1)

Visually impressive and solid gameplay, the engine sound though couldn't get used to it.

Tight mechanics, great presentation. One tiny thing you could improve: The unlit side of the space elevator is quite dark. Some global illumination or a second, darker light source would help.

edit: oh and great sense of speed!

Developer

agreed! initial plan was to have a bunch of differently lit environments (also a parallel bizarre universe) so I wanted to preserve that value contrast for maximum impact when you enter a brighter level… but then had to cut content to ship on time. :)

You made it feel razor sharp to play, it felt great to thread the needle. It was a nice simple concept that was really well polished and executed. The star parallax was a nice visual touch.

One thing I noticed was the circling hovercars were connected to the movement of the player...when moving to the right..they seem locked to the elevator.  But definitely nice one.

Nice! I liked the swift build of the energy in the game, really enjoyed the music, and the graphics and rotational gameplay were smooooooth :)

nice visuals, addictive gameplay! Job well done. Please mind the deadline next time around!
